11-year-old Evans girl attacked by pit bull

An 11-year-old Evans girl was playing outside Sunday when her neighbor's dog got loose and attacked her. Her injuries required 50 staples and four stitches. The dog, named Bandit, is at the Humane Society likely awaiting euthanasia.

Alan Arnette, a Fort Collins-based mountaineer, visited Eaton Middle School to accept checks for Alzheimer's research. Arnette, who last year became the oldest American to climb K2, adopted Alzheimer's as his cause after his mom died from the disease.

Asbestos was also used in theater curtains as a fire barrier. There are some classic cartoons where one of the curtains dropped has "Asbestos" written across it. (That's how I found this video with a search.) Also, in the 1980s we were warned NOT to stick things like pencils in the ceilings of my dorm room, as the "popcorn" texture contained asbestos. Yes, for years I slept under a flaking asbestos surface. So far, so good though. Also all the pipes in that building were wrapped in asbestos and some of the steam tunnels (carrying heat to the buildings) were lined with it. The vinyl composition floor tiles also contained asbestos!
