Regarding Caius, I think you just have to click "orders", and then click "orders" a second time. The game is a bit janky about that, but sometimes you have to double click some topics to get the outcome.

the reason why they keep saying "not meet the requirements" are sometimes not related to the amount of duties you have done, but your skill level. For all guilds, there is a long list of skills that they specialize in. For mages guild, it is just all the magic related skills. For each rank in a guild, there are a requirement for how high your skill must be. For example. Beside doing a certain amount of duties, in order to become an "Evoker", you also need to have 30 Intelligence and 30 Willpower, and you need to one of the guild favoured skills at 30, and two on skills at 5. To become Arch-mage, you need 35 Intelligence (explains Trebonius :P), 35 Willpower, one of the guild skills at 90, and two skills at 35. This basic system is the same for all the other guilds. As a roleplayer, I just love this, because it means you cannot be a warrior and complete the mages guild, and vice versa. You have to actually raise at least one of the relevant skills to a high level. Another thing that i like about the way Morrowind does ranks in guilds, is that there are more duties than you need. On the negative side, this means you can advance so fast, you end up locking yourself out of some quests. On the positive side, it means that you can fail (hear that Skyrim, you can fail a quest!), and still complete a guild, because there are other quests to do. You have to fail several quests to lock yourself out of a finishing a guild.

If you are smart, you can avoid alot of fights in Morrowind. Most quests have 2-3 ways of completing them.

When you know the travelroutes by heart, this is slightly painful to watch :D But it is a good example of one of the things i love about Morrowind. How part of the quest is navigating the world. It lets you think about what your doing, and how to get to places, soo much more, than a quest marker and a fast travel point. Sure, Morrowind can some times be too restrict it how much it tells the player. But Skyrim in particular really just removes so much of the joy of discovering a world by simply making traveling plans.

Knowing some console comands really comes in handy for Morrowind. NPCs also move slightly everytime you load a cell, so as the game progress, it becomes nessesary to re-set NPC locations. Unless you don't mind your Silt Strider guide to stand somewhere that doesn't make sense...

Morrowind does better in some and worse in others, lots of boring fetch quests, spamming through dialogue; and repeating fast travel cycles... Morrowind is the most true to RPG out of all the titles, it gives you tons of choices to make in how you want to play and also how to build your character. The character building has degraded with each new title. Skyrim finally does away with the custom character creation and leaves it to a minuscule stat difference depending on the race you pick. Morrowind has great quest diversity and lore, lots of unique encounters including liches, necromancy, and monsters; it doesnt really hold up. The Control Scheme is insanely dated; space to interact and E to jump?? Right click for inventory? Its not hard to get used to, but definitely not the modern format anymore. Graphic wise it really is ancient, but still unique and in some areas you can tell there was love put into the design. Gameplay wise its successors have expanded and upgraded far beyond what Morrowind tried to originally reach.

So i made the mistake of playing Civ V last night, and stayed way to long up (classic one-more-turn syndrom), so now (morning where i am), I am just really tired after like 4,5 hour sleep, and I gotter admit... Right now, I really just relax to Morrowind sounds. Like, I feel like this is one of those moment, where you just realize how big the nostalgia factor is (not that I didn't know, but still), as you just enjoy the iconic sounds of the game. The soundtrack, the wildlife sounds, the items being dragged in and out of inventory. Any voice commentary would just have ruined the experience right now :D

Morrowinds armors just looks so nice in general (the old graphics aside). They lean into the fantasy elements, which makes guards look so nice.

You do know you don't have to kill her? You can either kill her. Make her like you enough to the point she pays her dues. Or just go back to the mages guild, say she gave you the money, and then pay for her.
