Me in 2016: Yeah, let's get this cozy looking farming sim. Why not? What weird consequences could a simple purchase on Steam have? My youtube suggestions after more than 3000 hours in Stardew Valley:
We are Yoba
0:16 fun fact ther is yoba symbol in journey of the prairie king is in the tombstone powerup but its reversed
Oh yeah! Thank you for noting that!
I think the only crop that normally grows for 11 days is the tomato, so perhaps it's a reference to that?
Could be))
Maybe the real Yoba was the friends we made along the way
ahahahah! love this, maybe-maybe
Hi . About the Yoba I have alot of speculation on Whois the Yoba is Yoba could be The Grandpa it self, Because The spirit of the grandpa is always guided the Player through the Playtime. like The Gtandpa Shrine candle , Yoba could be a "Mr Qi" for some reason like He is The one who can Make The Qi Beans appears in anywhere around the valley, He knows every player moves, Like in summit ifyou cheated He know, in Skull cavern , and anywhere. everything is Sums when you go to the summit after Perfection The player's Grandpa is revealed to be an acquaintance of Mr. Qi in The Summit cutscene. About the Junimo, I called it a Mystical Creature, Since every Character in SDV is Unique, there is Dwarf,Shadow people, Witch,Goblin(henchman), Bear, Raccoon, Junimo,Mermaid Ect...
I think you might be on to something with the Grandpa, I too, always thought he was Yoba
It's Very kind of the townspeople not indoctrinating us in the good word of yoba lol
Imagine if they had had them go around and knock on our doors 😂😂😂
I love the theory that Vincent is Yoba 😂😂😂
I don’t know how I feel about this ahahaha 😂
The only religion im interested in 😄
Amen
Maybe Yoba is Grandpa🧐 /hj
🤔 maybe… I think you are on to something here!
I like to think Linus is Yoba and he likes to live in nature that he created
@adonscadlock1704 Maybe *we* are Yoba /j
Stardew valley lore is always so interesting, thank you for covering Yoba!☺️
I couldn’t agree more! And my pleasure!
Severing is not even a fraction of possibility for me.
There's some holes in your argument. This video is pretty neat and thought provoking, and there are definitely some similarities between the two things, but here's where it all falls apart: Jojacorp isn't here to take over the town. They're just... trying to sell you groceries. It's practically an Amazon store. Yes joja clashes with the small town life in the valley, but the truth is they use the money that YOU give them to save the town. Repairing bridges, minecarts, blasting the rocks so people can access the railroad, all these things are good for the community. It comes down to whether you want to use your own resources to save the town or leave it to Joja to do it for you. Jojacorp however is no angel. They strive to create a monopoly in groceries and other things. Morris walks in Pierre's shop and announces lower prices at jojamart like a total prick. People who work at jojamart don't seem happy at work. They just do it because they must. Just like most anyone who works in a place like that. It's not a soulless cubicle but if you worked there long enough it would take your soul too. Morris bombs the landscape with no regard to human safety and cites legal code to justify his actions. Here's my humble opinion: Stardew valley is freedom incarnate. I can choose to do farming today or go out in the mines. I can restore the community center or destroy it for something else. I could even go visit a tropical island paradise and hang out there. I'm not even confined to the valley. I'm free to go here or there. Free to do whatever I want. Sadly the man in 1984 didn't get that luxury. But I can assure you no one is invading my thoughts, no one is controlling the narrative but myself. I want to end the comment by restating that you bring up very eery similarities between the game and the book and that is very interesting, but your arguments are deeply flawed. Freedom isn't free. In stardew, the cost is your hard work. In order for your arguments to work, there needs to be something about stardew like a big government entity that has tremendous influence over the thoughts and actions of its people, and that's just not present in this game. Jojacorp is not the government, and if that universe has any resemblance of real world, a governing body could easily and swiftly regulate everything jojacorp does, from its business practices to employee treatment. Jojacorp's presence in the valley is distasteful but only to the people living there. Morris is an asshole but he's also a much more effective and competent mayor of the town than Lewis ever did. I do wish they were taken more accountable of the trash in the waters, the safety of the residents, treatment of employees, and its overall impact on the economy of the valley, but all this just serves to be the antagonist of the game.
Are you sure Joja Corp just wants to sell groceries? I don’t think so, but that’s just my theory. Also, thank you for taking the time to write this out and explain your point of view. I can see where you’re coming from; there are some things I agree with, but I still choose to stand by my theory-even if it could be totally wrong.
I don't mean to negatively criticise this episode of your show, yours, not severance, but one of the first questions I think many people would ask, and with reason, is how much and the answer would be related to how much one needs the money.
Seems clear to me that part of the message is that we are already doing that by being slaves to the wage. Because so many of us have no other option.
And that is a very valid question, I do think there are some people in severance who did do it for this reason exactly
I've watched all of the first series and I'm just like everyone else, gasping for series 2. I found your analysis asked all the right questions and it was very enjoyable. One detail jumped out at me - the ''Overtime Contingency Protocol''. The acronym OCP also stands for Outside(r) Context Problem. This is where a problem arises that is so outside the context of the subject that it could not be foreseen and cannot be dealt with or even imagined. It may just be a coincidence but I would imagine that is just how Dylan (or Dillon?) felt when his ''outey'' was interrupted. I throw this in for what it's worth. Thanks for a great video.
This is actually very very interesting and you definitely might be on to something Also, thank you 🤗
the black goo is his outie's obsession seeping into the innie's mind via subconscious by not sleeping when outside the severed floor
yes, but I would also say that this is something that worries him as much as it is his obsession
@@nikaknack "a symbolic manifestation of his buried anxieties" is very different from what I said.. also it might even be that his outie inducing these dreams into his innie with purpose... so anxieties is even more reductive of what's going on 😅
Thank you for pointing out the poor situation of the innies. They did not make a decision of their own but have to carry the consequences which is quite unfair. This might be a wild thesis but I think we all have agreed to sever when we chose to come to Earth. Isn't it an analogy? We come here with no idea of who we are (interestingly this is the first question to the innies when they wake up on the table - that has the form of a coffin - "Who are you!?" - and they can't answer. We feel lost and disoriented with no memory (of our previous incarnations). We are not really in control, we have to follow certain rules to survive. There is an illusion of free will but actually it's quite limited (in the show for example the food or the choice of music). It's a very fascinating watch with a lot of hints and symbols. I have watched it a couple of times and I am still intrigued!
Of course! This is definitely an interesting theory
The Lexington Letter was so great… and disturbing.
Yes! Extremely disturbing and genius!
I think in a way im already severed. At my job and in and day out I spend my day in a dissociated state, and when I get home I feel angry about things that happen yet can't remember exactly what did happen. I believe even the thought of willing going through with a more extrem version makes me feel sick, because why would you want to loose control.
Oh yeah, just the idea of a company being able to control you is enough for me to really say no
Omg stop slapping your lips good god
I wouldn’t sever… unless you look at it like an allegory about having children where the innie is the child and the outie is the parent… because then I’ve already done it.
Oh that’s interesting! Also could be
this sounds AMAZING
What I sever it depends on the money. It also depends on the job. My current job. I like well enough that I would not sever, but I’ve had other jobs that I definitely would suffer from and I’ve had other times in life where I definitely need more money. I also need more money right now so I might changefor a lot more money.
Honestly and fair, i like. I also thought about this… the financial aspect can be a huge game changer for a lot of people, including myself, but it still feels kind of weird, especially what we saw with Petey
It’s a shame that the world we live in we have to consider selling our soul for money. Severance is basically just that. The people in that series are definitely selling their soul But I would still consider it for the right money and in the right circumstances. I must say I thought you must be a successful UA-camr. From watching your video on Severance. It’s really good and looks professional. I checked out your channel Looks like you’re just getting started. I checked out a couple of other videos. Your most popular I’m not familiar with that show. I checked out the Harry Potter one Those are very good also. I didn’t see much else I was interested in but I think you will not have to worry about money in the future because you will be successful at UA-cam. I will keep an eye 👁️ on your videos If you do a video on. The Fire Fly series Stranger Things Any Stephen King Midnight gospel Star Trek Black Mirror Or something else I will watch it
Why thank you! And duly noted on the ideas for my videos! Stay tuned!😊
I watched it a while ago You make me want to watch it again
Hell yeah!
So, is "slavery" ethical?
No, the whole point of Severance is showing how dehumanizing it is to trap people in a role with zero freedom or choice 🙂
@nikaknack Seems the definition of ...
But no I don’t trust corporation, they are terrible, I was in the military, and I wouldn’t trust that either. People are terrible. Corporations are worse.
Of course Cyberpunk 2077 does severance for high level companion workers … I think Altered Carbon might also have for seggs workers at high level too
You can say sex on UA-cam
I know sci-fi has talked about you know cutting off your brain so that you could like log into the Internet or something while your body is stuck running or doing my exercise to keep the meat soup in top order. And then of course, Rick and Morty had the night people who just wanted you to rinse off your dishes, but of course that family is terrible so it doesn’t work out. Like I have ASD, ADHD, GAD, MDD, PTSD, CPTSD … I am tired all the time … and I struggle with unalive, like I’ll sit here and cry and think it’s not fair that I have to continue to exist My son is disabled, I have a veterans pension, I just have to live tomorrow and more money arrives. But believe it or not living, when your brain is your worst enemy, is rough. And if you have chronic conditions, then just living is rough. If there could be another me who doesn’t have the same baggage, I have who could have a life, and I could take a break from existing, I’d probably be willing to rent out, far mode or even just give some of my life away to this other entity I guess this is parts work brought to the next level, IFS is gonna take over the world, internal family system for the win
But also, also, I can’t have my any being more effed up than I am, if they suffer more than I do by existing then I’ll just carry the weight. I don’t want the guilt of inflicting this existence on somebody else.
Thank you for sharing this. Severance does bring up that wish to step back from life’s hardest parts, especially when it feels overwhelming. But, as you said, there’s a weight in knowing someone else-even another ‘you’-could be burdened with that pain. It’s a deep and complex choice.
I would hate for it to be a simulation/hallucination/purgatory. Pocket dimension is good. Something linked to a curse, the American land and/or a non physical entity that inhabits this dimension. Also the place seem to predates Victor by a lot.
I am so down for anything at this moment, just want them to start wrapping up already) I think a pocket dimension would be interesting too
1000th view
one of the best summaries I've watched. And no, I wouldn't sever - I enjoy my work. I think the message is that everyone should strive to get a job they actually like/ can manage, not find ways to escape.
thank you! And 100%!
You don't have to like it, but you should manage it. I like that
Great video pal!!! Your enunciation is my ASMR😂 but fr this is an awesome show that deserves a proper break down and you nailed it!! Best of luck on the channel🫶❤️
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it 😊🫶
Amazing video 🎉 I am from EU and here concept of working after office hour is not that common as in the US. But still I would not give up on 8 hours of my day. In the office despite work can be annoying, you still can make best out of it; socialise, gossip enjoy coffee etc.
Thank you! Oh yes, I have heard that the work culture in EU, is actually not that bad and you have time to live))
I'm guessing you're pumped for season 2 as well!? Great job on the video. Hope you get more subscribers.
Of course! Can’t wait to see where they take this show! Thank you 🫶☺️
Don't know how I came about your channel. I think it was the From video. Again a good video about another show I really like. Hope your channel grows! Also if you haven't seen them watch Dark and Silo! Also great shows with lots of mystery.
keep your eyes out, one of my next videos is about Dark ;) also thank you!!!
I literally just finished reading 1984 like a week ago and have a paper due on it in a month 😳 Love this, couldn’t have come at a better time
Good luck with the paper! And thank you!
@@nikaknackOf course! I’ll edit the comment once it’s graded
How strange. I just named my pigs after the pigs in Animal Farm in my current playthrough.
Hmmmmm🤔 what will be the outcome here I wonder? Will the pigs win or the animals? Or will there even be a rebellion?😅😂
This was really thought out. Glad I stumbled across this video
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Did not know I needed this but thank you
Anytime! Thank you!
This video felt like it was starting and stopping and starting all over, going over the same ideas again and again. Being more concise in your writing and making your points clearly is what keeps the audience paying attention. This video could have been an email, so to say.
I agree many sentences feels like a repeat of what was said earlier.
I see what you’re saying-I’ll keep that in mind for future videos and focus on being more concise with the points.
i saw this video on my recommend page and i LOVE it !!! looking forward for your new video ^^
Yay! Thank you!
woah this was so interesting!! ur so underrated?!?!
Thank you!
Before Watching: Utter confusion. I'm reading 1984 for English 3 Honors... I have literally no idea how these two things can ever be RELATED?? I thought this was just a silly farm game where you get to marry emo boys and some other people :( After Watching: I'd say there's certainly some similarities, but I absolutely don't think that this game was intended to seem like 1984. There's simple explanations for some things, honestly. Jojamart, the (usually) common enemy. Every story needs an antagonist, in this case it would be an old friend (employer) coming to haunt you, trying to take control of you after you've just left. The war? Character lore. Why not make the super awesome Sam have a semi-absent father? When semi-absent father returns, why not make him jumpy and paranoid? It just brings a little more depth into character stories to help you connect with the characters a little more. I will say, this was very well put together, and the connections are very solid. Stardew Valley isn't particularly related to 1984, but it does have those connections that make you think. Definitely had me thinking. Superawesome vid keep it up :D
Thank you! I agree with your point 100%, I definitely went above and beyond, but it was interesting exploring the IF
Whoa there, let's see what this is about
Thoughts? :)
well this is one hell of a title
:D
This was so interesting to listen to
Thank you!
I cen sleep for like two years and not starve. So, yeah, I am not fighting for any dreams. (tbh i never farm or ranch in this game, i usually just wander around for days, picking up forage and giving it to people. Am I a hippie? Maybe?)
I completely forgot that that is also an option! How does the story progress for you?
@@nikaknack a little slow, but actually just fine! I buy anything I need for bundles from the cart trader when I have the chance Though, I have beaten the game several times by now, and joja route was more convenient, but I like having community center to chill in
I see, I want to try this route out too now 😂
