The Port Cygnet Cannery, in Tasmania's Huon Valley, has long been synonymous with apple production.
The Cannery operated in Cygnet for over 70 years and was the last of Tasmania's nineteen canneries to close in 2010.
The cannery has now been reborn as a place for locals and visitors to enjoy fresh local produce in our restaurant and is transitioning to become a destination venue in the Huon Valley as we bring the precinct back to life with a variety of food, drink and entertainment.
Over the years, the cannery employed hundreds of local people and here are some of their stories.
