I would not recommend any of those, I will recommend the SONY A7RIIIA which are cheaper then both the A7IV and the Z6III ! With the SONY A7RIIIA you get more megapixel, high dynamic range and low noise levels, it is a very good Camera that I highly can recommend, a real bargain !

How do you see this 26 Vs the 28 2.8?

Man that F2 looks absolutely mint! Mine is at the opposite end of the spectrum, was my grandfather's press camera (one of them anyway, he had at least two Fs and an F3 as well) and half of the black paint has been brassed off! Yet, despite thousands upon thousands of rolls put through it and having been stuffed in a bag for about 30 years, it still works almost perfectly. Fresh light seals and a little CL to get back the slow speeds is all it needs.

I have a hasselblad 500 body. I am thinking of buying the 100 digital back. Does this combination get me a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 image or does it get something less than 2 1/4 ? I realize comparing digital to analog image size is not exactly equal. I wonder if I would get a better image and image size with just using film ? Thanks !

I dont need another camera, I shoot sports for a living and have an office filled with bodies and lenses and long glass 200 f2, 400 2.8 , 2 500's f4's, and a 600 4..... and just never want to use them for anything other than work. The 907/100 I want (I have a 501CM from way back in my studio days) but I cant help to think back to all my favorite personal / fun images and 90% are in poor weather and not always with the ideal tripod. I want slow, I dig the vintage vibe but lack of weather sealing, ibis, and a pop up/folding hood for the screen keep me from pulling the trigger. could probably go without the IBIS with a camera I hold firmly to my face but shooting with just my hands looking down into the screen seems like its going to cost me a stop or two of steadiness. this one has me torn

Thank you for these posts. I recently found your channel and have been enjoying overwhelmingly the presentations with Mr. Woo. He truly is a man of great knowledge. I can only hope that he has an apprentice that he can pass his wealth of knowledge onto. These great men with passionate dedication to the older photography tools are becoming a passing lost treasure. Please continue with this good man's interviews.

In my opinion, the F2 is the best camera ever made.

I can't remember what other lens that Mr Woo had that was shorter when he first showed off this camera. BTW I couldn't tell was the picture in B&W/Monochrome or can in Color?

Little error with the explanation of the self timer. It is not for long exposure, it is a lever to set up to 10 seconds self timer. Great video again from Mr Woo as always. 😊

I still use one today: Nikon F2S from 1974, and I purchased my 1st Nikon F in 1971. Both are built for more than 50 years in use.

Back in the late 1960s, when I worked for a newspaper, I used a Nikon F with non-metered prism with no motor drive. In 1971, I replaced my two Nikon F SLR cameras with two F2 bodies with motor drives, and non-metered prism. Later, I used the F3 for auto exposure with the built-in light meter. Lastly, I used the F4 for shooting auto focus lenses with built-in motor drive and built-in auto exposure light meter. I no longer own or use the Nikon F or F3. However, I still shoot with the F2 and F4. To this day, the F2 remains my favorite 35mm SLR.

The Canon New F-1 are the best ever made analog SLR professional system Camera ! The Nikon F2 was Nikons best, but it was second to the Canon !

Unlimited creative possibilities with this camera! I have a friend who bought an 8x10 Deardorf with lenses at a garage sale for $100. I think Gossen made a light Meer with probe that would let you meter the scene directly from the ground glass. As many points as you choose. Great if you use the zone system.

What a beast to carry around that rig must be.

I’m one of those who feel the F2 is at the top of the mechanical 35mm camera mountain. Mr. Woo had to blast through that very fast, but a thorough examination of the F2’s features and operation, including all of the accessories mentioned, could span an hour or more. I would happily sit through such a video.

It's interesting, I saw a extensive review on it and of course the price is a bit high but part of that is because this camera had to be designed from scratch and Pentax recruited retired Engineers from the film days to work with the young engineers who never worked on a film camera before. Also I guess any tooling or molds had been thrown away long ago so that's why it's cost is a bit on the high side but understandably so. It will be interesting to see how well it is received by the general public, if it goes well I guess they plan to make other film cameras as well.

The Mamiya 7 is a very nicely made camera by all appearances, but it is not the genuine "Texas Leica". Surely that accolade belongs to the Fujica GL690 because (i) the Fuji looks much more like a Leica (e.g. it has no grip and has Leica-like proportions) and (ii) its 6 x 9 cm negatives have the same 3:2 aspect ratio as a 35mm's. No worry as this is still another super video by Mr. Woo.

Anyone wishing to learn the fundamental principles of photography would benefit from using a view camera and experiencing first hand how the relationship between the film plane and the lens plane impacts focusing. Even when using 35mm or medium format without similar movements, understanding the geometry of light and film helps tremendously. Thanks for this!

Toyo-View rail Cameras are very good, as the Toyo-View Field Cameras also are. I used Sinar rail Cameras 4x5" and 5x7" and Linhof Technika 4x5" with Schneider Kreuznach Lenses, when I was a professional Photographer.

A truly enjoyable and fantastic video once again, gentlemen, on the essence of 4x5 photography. The first time I laid eyes on large-format prints, I was truly astounded. Looking at them on a computer screen doesn't quite capture their real essence. The Rodenstock Sironar S lens lineup, particularly the Rodenstock Apo-Sironar-S 150mm F5.6 lens, truly blew me away. The optical quality of this lens is simply outstanding and completely different from anything else I've ever seen before.

It would be really cool to see you guys out in the field with some cool cameras, I know between you two you should be able to bring some enticing gear for film and digital viewers! You both have great cameras!

Love this video. 15 years ago our daughter had a friend that went to art school in Philadelphia. He was required to use large format cameras and brought out a Toyo 4X5 on the train. What a beast. He used a wooden tripod. When I started work in 1977 at Hewlett Packard in Pennsylvania, we had a Ultra Large format camera mounted on the floor, on rails in the concrete floor, to prepare the layouts for complex printed circuit boards, with 3-4 layters. I beleive that final film size was 16 x 20 inches. The transparencies were then sent to another division to produce the circuit boards. If a run on the board needed minor changes they would actually alter the transparency. Now, all this type of work is done using CAD and the boards themselves can be many more layers.
