The JP Kamigawa is really pretty stuff. I got myself a couple of packs, and the full land arts in them are amazing. There are always jp ones in stock, tou should give them a try

Been playing since 1994…here are my rankings…7. Innistrad Remastered - reprint set….nothing to get excited about. 6. FF - Not a fan of anime/JRPGs and never been into this IP…not a hater though. 5. Mystery UB - posted another comment explaining this is now widely believed to be Avatar LAB - same as above. 4. Aetherdrift - looking forward to this in universe set but not sure the theme is my favorite. 3. EoE- same as above. 2. TD - in universe and on theme. 1. Spider Man - for the most part I’m a fan of UB and anything that grows the game is a plus. Loved reading Spider Man during the McFarlane era and am excited to see WotC work their magic. I think you can be confident this set is going to get the full LOTR treatment and all of your favorite characters and villains will be present. Also…no interest in SpongeBob…not a fan of the show and from what I understand all the cards are reskins. I’m sure I’ll buy at least some of all of the other sets. Enjoy your content when you’re not just opening packs.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet by WotC to my knowledge…but the internet sleuths have all but confirmed the third UB set is going to be Avatar the Last Airbender. It was hinted in an Arena promotion.

Kind of think it’s funny how you said “You need to understand.” People understand, they don’t have to like it. I think crossover sets are cool. Are 3 crossover sets being non-magic sets good? No. Magic isn’t Fortnite and it shouldn’t be. It’s condescending to be new to the game and telling people who have been playing for 1-3 decades what’s good for them and what they should enjoy

Ororo borealis is essentially a cantrip, which is pretty OP. It’s basically a free card draw, which means it thins your deck, which means your deck becomes much more consistent

Lightning bolt is one of the OG magic cards. Classic

Protection from a color means that it can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, enchanted, or equipped by anything of that color.

Storm seems to be the most popular of these, which isn't surprising as she seems really powerful! Black Panther looks to be the weakest one tbh, but there's still some really useful commander cards in there. On a side note if you didn't notice, Cap's "red white and blue" colour combination is actually in the wrong order when it comes to magic cards. The correct order would be Blue/Red/White, however they thought it was essential to make swap them around just for AMERICA.

Can you use the 'themed' decks for commander against non-themed decks? I was looking at getting one of the Warhammer 40k decks to get started nut dont want to if they're only "cosmetic" or "for fun"

There are solid arguments for and against this number of UB products. Sure, allure new players is about it. Good for everyone (maby). The negatives are also to be taken seriously. I saw a great video that summarized a lot of the potential downsides and it's NOT only "buu-huu I don't like spiderman fighting spongebob". Things like represented IP cards might see increased powercreep due to the owners of the IP wanting to see a success with the co-operation and if not, we might never see more cards with the same IP and the project was a failure. So they have sort of got to add a gold lining to it to make it have an impact. Also, a lot for balance in general might be messed up when we see more and more focus on top down designed sets. but these are of course speculations, but people have solid reasons to be on alert about it and we need to push WOTC to make sure they are doing things for good reasons and not getting carried away with pure greed. And magic might burn out and become the flame the burnt out too fast. I have personally not that much fear. I do think they have the possibility to sink the ship and kill the golden goose. I don't trust Hasbro at all and they have shown time to time that they might not do the best choises for the right reasons. I can however say that the last sets have been so amazing and I love the last years that magic has created more than anything, and I have never been more hooked or excited for magic than now, ever. Our game group speak for itself. Weekly games with 3-5 people have been a common occurrence and people can't get enough.

I mean you don't just need to draft these. They're some the best cards in the history of Magic (hence why you'd make most of your money back selling the singles) so they can go in anything. IMO it's one of the best products they put out last year.

I think this set is going to be amazing and was designed to make the naysayers regret passing it up.
