Unfinished Masterpiece Continued

Part of my healing process has involved time travel... sort of. Meet little Michael; he is amazing.
Me, The Unfinished Masterpiece

Pretty raw in this one. I figure if I can share myself after a physical workout, why not after and emotional one. After all, that’s what good therapy is, it’s an emotional, psychological workout that sometimes leaves us feeling raw and worn out when it’s done and makes us stronger, more flexible, more resilient and healthier in the long run.
Asking for help when it’s needed
Переглядів 425 років тому
I talk about the stigma around mental health and the importance in asking for help when we need it. I’m pretty raw in this one because a lot of stuff was beginning to surface that I had been holding in for a long time. Looking back, the painful process of breaking down is the beginning of a wonderful process of healing and recreation. If you’re in pain, take that first step. Ask for help.
Solving the puzzle of me one piece at a time
Переглядів 225 років тому
I’ve been working on solving this unsolvable puzzle for most of my adult life. Granted much of that work has been just turning the pieces of the cube randomly with no real strategy or intention. I’ve recently uncovered something that I think is big. Watch and tell me what you think.
Prepare, prepare, prepare!

How do you prepare? For the day. An important conversation. A big game. A big deal. A date. An important phone call... Our biggest victories are often found not in the events but in the preparation leading up to them.

This is to raise funds, goods and awareness for people in need who are struggling to survive on our streets and in our communities. It’s been a rough few years for a lot of good, hard working folks and there are many who could use our help. Please join me by clickin...
Let’s talk! What hurts and why?
Переглядів 475 років тому
In this episode (I have episodes?) I talk Bell Let’s Talk. I also discuss some realizations I’ve had around why some things really hurt. So often we have stories about what cause our physical and emotional pain and so often these stories are not accurate.
In Conflict There’s an Important Question I Ask Myself
Переглядів 295 років тому
Today I discuss the process of self improvement and giving ourselves a break every now and then. I also share an important question I have started asking myself when I find myself in conflict with others.
What I Learned From the Bunless Burger 2018 05 29
Переглядів 55 років тому
Sometimes the best choice doesn't feel (or taste) like it in the moment and that's ok. I had fun recording this one and listening to it again before sharing it here. Whatever path you are on to becoming your best self, have fun with it when you can and when it isn't enjoyable in the moment, have joy in the benefits you will enjoy in the near future as a result of your determination now.
I am the Architect of My Own Experience 2018 05 22
Переглядів 105 років тому
My experience now if the direct result of the sum of all the choices I have made up till now. How have I intentionally designed my present moment? What am I doing to design my future? How am I responding to the variables I do not control?
No Shortcuts on the Road to Self Improvement 2018 05 15
Переглядів 45 років тому
I discuss the idea of discipline and why, when you have a goal you have set for yourself, there are no shortcuts to achieving it. The easy way doesn't exist and the pain experienced is, within reason, a part of the process. Embrace the uphill struggles, that's what leads to the great views!
Simple Rule to Live By 2018 05 08

This message is so simple and so true. How can we make the world we live in a better place than we found it? What can you do right now to improve the day a little today?
Facing fears and finding inner strength (both physical and mental) Director's Cut

*I went back and fixed the slide times so you can actually read them.* This was my first experience winter camping. We hiked across Upper Kananaskis Lake to Pointe campground and stayed for two nights. We were blessed with great weather for most of it and the temperatures were relatively mild (especially compared to today, -24!) Even when my body was cold, my heart was filled with warmth.

I just watched this at the end of my work day and it felt really good! I ended up having a really good day overall so this is something I think I’ll come back to or maybe even make a series of quick breathing meditations for myself...

For quick reference, the apps I mentioned were: MindShift- tons of useful info and tools for working through anxiety, Waking Up by Sam Harris - the free version has a great series of guided meditations that are especially great for people who haven’t meditated or who have struggled with it in the past, Insight Timer - a free app with tons of guided meditations, music, ambient sounds etc. This app has something for everyone! Check em out!

People have been saying/writing that they are in the worst time in history for all of recorded history. It’s simply not true today. Also it’s so much easier to focus on the bad things that happen. What would impact you more - losing $100 from you wallet or getting a $100 bonus on your paycheque? How many great totally drama free flights have you been on? Do you remember any of them? Likely not. But do you remember that awful one, full of delays or turbulence. Sure you do. I do too. It’s hard that our brains work this way, but realizing that they do makes all the difference. It’s up to us to acknowledge that there’s way more good in this world that bad. Happy Saturday 😜

Thanks Dave! I agree with you. For me, it’s been a matter if paying close attention to my negative thoughts and judgements and actively questioning their validity. This can be a challenging process but once undertaken it almost inevitably leads to a more positive and realistic view of the world. This can also lead to taking an in depth inventory of one’s own core values and belief systems and that can be truly life changing. Hard as fuck, but life changing... Happy Saturday dude!👍🏻
