Repotting a Larger Plumeria (7 to 15 gallon)
In this video, I’m repotting a plant that was leaning over and was also due for a repotting. The plant is being moved up from a 7 gallon to a 15 gallon pot. Once the repotting was finished, the plant was soaked with water (not shown) as 15 gallon plants are much easier to move when dry versus when fully soaked. Additionally, repotted plumeria are sometimes staked until their roots are reestablished.

In this video we’re re-potting some young plumeria that were started as cuttings a few months ago. They were “gang rooted” to start, then moved to the perforated air pots you see in the video. The air pots are used to greatly reduce the chance of root rot due to too much moisture. The down side is that as the roots develop and get bigger, these pots dry out faster. This is when we move them to ...

Unpotting plumeria that were “gang rooted”. Gang rooting is when you place multiple cuttings in the same pot to root. This process is sometimes done to conserve space while new Plumeria cuttings develop roots and leaves .

Hi there, thankyou for the video. How long does it usually take for a seed pod to ripen. I don’t have any fancy type of trees but I noticed a seed pod on one of my Darwin Blood trees this April (autumn in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia), sub tropical climate, nil frost ever. Surprise, lol. Anyway it is dark brown and very shiny still. I do have it in a mango fruit bag, but just wondering how long it takes before it is ripe?

Great video. What size pot do you transfer to from the seed tray after the plant sprouts?

Thank you so much! We let them yet about 4-6 inches tall, then we move them to something called a plug tray (mostly to save on space). You can also plant three or four in a one gallon pot (referred to as gang rooting) then move them to 1 gallon pots as they get bigger.

@@ThePottedPlumeriaNursery thank you for your reply! Are they ready to go outside with full sun at that point? Or do you keep them in partial sun like on a covered patio? I’ve got about 40 small plants ready to be transferred. About 3-4 inches tall. Still have 4 more seed pods that haven’t opened yet also so I might be getting tight on space soon too so maybe the plug tray will work well for me.

@@jruff7943 We move them to full sun after they develop a few sets of “adult” leaves. Just keep an eye on them as the potting mix tends to dry quickly and will require watering every few days. Also a good time to start a feeding and insect/disease control regimen.
