This is why I build my starting bases out of wood and transition to stone when I'm stabilized.

@TheWorldOfKilladrix my pawns do it too slow then complain that they're room have holes and missing stuff. Maybe I should put them on a packed room first?

@@DrCheez342 Yeah, to start just do a single 11x11 or 9x13 room, put some beds, a table (and chairs), and make sure it's enclosed and lit up with lighting.

I don't disagree, but I'm also not too worried about my base looking good, I just want it functional and efficient.

We're playing the Save our Ship 2 mod which allows us to have space battles against other space ships (similar to Faster Than Light), and the other ship outgunned us so we boarded them and attempted to clear it and hack their console to "win" and stop their guns from firing but we didn't make it in time : (

Tbh, if you really wanna play around with it, do the start on the station/ship. I think I've only gone up to space from the surface with one colony. It just takes so long to gather the necessary resources, and by then you're already well established on the ground.

It's so good! A bit of a learning curve, but VERY worth it!

My favorite is building the ship on the ground and using the SoS2 point defense guns to instantly vaporize raiders on the map with them. It's never not funny.
