you go girl , that is so awesome , its great to see women and know what they doin ! what you can also do is grab your can of wd-40 and spray it in all your latches towards the inside bottom , there is a ball and spring switch that gets dry and hung up , that should loosen it up too !
Would be nice if this fixed my issue I have 2003 and my door locks don't work key fab don't work brakes lights don't work automagic headlights don't work radio stays on for bout 10mins after key removal
16 hours of searching the internet and alldatadiy and I find you. My problems will be solved in the morning. Was pretty sure of the problem but your video clarified where to look for the splices. Other videos and instructions were more about an F150 where I believe the same problem is in the trough further back on the back drivers side door. I managed to flood the trough with a big bowl of dog water that tipped over and pretty much filled it with standing water. Didn't realize that had happened for 3 days until things started not working. Cheers
2003 Ford Expedition Transmission cooler lines will rust and leak leading you to think your transmission has gone bad... most mechanics will tell you that you need a rebuilt transmission..A rebuit transmission cost for a ford expedition starts at $1,800 this will not include the core .. core charge is $600. To change the cooler lines is so easy a 12 yr old could do it.. yet a mechanic will charge $600 -$900. The parts cost approximately $150.. you will need the right tools.. 16mm , 19mm, 7/8 open end wrenches. I just changed these lines on my truck.. I just needed to share this ..because if you are a dyi and you don't mind getting a little dirt on you and you want to save a ton of money... Do this!!.. I want to post pics but have not figured that out yet
@@almqb7 Your mechanic is a Gem.. keep him/her , that's almost the cost of the parts assuming they were replaced with orginall ford parts and not third part
I had to use 3rd party parts. They came with a lifetime warranty. I could have done it myself. I work alot. Just dont have time. Ford works me to death! Yes my mechanic is a great guy he can fix anything.
@@almqb7That's Great! good mechanics hard to find...One other thing about the expedition .. The diferential in the rear and front fluid should be changed after I think 80k - 0r 100k miles that's an easy job too.. but again you have to have time and tools... Changing the coils and plugs (8) is a must to as part of the tune up the O2 sensors should be changed with the tune up.. Easy :>)
Awesome repair! I’m a Ford senior master with 27 years experience and I’ve seen techs perform this repair half as good as you have! And very good that you were careful when cutting back the tape! A lot of techs tear up the wires! Good job!
Fixed my 04 Expedition, same problems including climate controlled seats inop. I had 2 purple wires on each side of the splice but replacing it worked. Great job and thank you!
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing. This area is VERY prone to getting WET from water leaks that usually originate all the way up in the sunroof (or top of windshield) - If you investigate this area, check it ALL for water and related corrosion. Great video!
Thanks for posting this video! Saved me lots of time and money. I was going to replace the door contact switches (over $20 each on ebay) and a headlight switch. The wires were corroded and not connected on mine. Not sure how you figured this out but thank you! I now have interior lights, radio shuts off when I open the door, and the automatic headlights work too! You are awesome! Thanks again for posting this video on UA-cam!
Ronnie Harrell make sure you twisted the wire together before you crimped it together. Also make sure you check the doors first to see if the switches in the doors aren't bad BC multiple door switches can also be bad.
The door switches are good I'm actually having the same problems that you are doing locks not working radio staying on when I take the key out and my interior light doesn't come on when I open up the door
I'm sorry but the door switches doesn't work my interior light doesn't come on and also the radio stays on when I turn the truck off and take the keys out. I think I cut Corners when I saw your video because what I done was I just twisted the three purple wires into that one purple wire by hand only. So my question is to you is do I need to get the butt connectors
Victor Gomez then you may need to just change the switch inside the door first. I bought mine on Amazon. You have to know which door it is first. There is another video on here for that.
It worked I have A 2003 Lincoln navigator had the same issues domelight would not come on back door would not open 4 x 4 would not work and a whole bunch of other problems followed your steps found the wires reconnected them because they were brutal and broke apart now everything works thank you final who you were I would give you a big kiss save me a lot of money
Thank you I have the same problem I just fixed it today I really appreciate this video

I'm really just learning about my Ford. I come from a Gm family.

My 2006 navigator back hatch won't open and interior lights stay on. This is the only thing I haven't checked
I have the same issue with the same year and model truck I did what you told me to do but it's still not working is there any other solution

you have to take the panel and trim off and find those wires. I would check the fuse box first and change all the fuses then do the wires.
you have to also find out which door is ajar. do the fuses then the wires.
My 2003 just have 2 purple. Convert on 1 i just have door ajar ligth problem
