Aussie Puppies Solid Food Transition Day

Mamma dog said enough is enough and left the kennel overnight to get some freedom! We used that moment to transition the pups to solid food which is perfect timing at 4 weeks! This was going to happen on Monday anyway so a couple of days early was no problem.

Stellar X2 Microphone review and PatchCAD patch panel labeling
This is exactly as it should be, exactly. My memory of a similar trip was quite different, it really was EXTREME!!! Love the narration as much as the visuals.

Insane-ness
Ok my 'child'. Bless you for having come into the 'mic confessional'. O kee Doe Kee. ...So...ah...like..ah..well: You are forgiven! Hooray!! Give me 5! ....Now....your penance is to just send me the Stellar X2 ....and be good now. Your video was very good. I have both mics. And I can not lie: I LIKE THE STELLAR!
Sorry Miguel, I'm going for a beer. Hope to see you soon.
The Stellar X2 is a good mic but I was surprised at how smooth the RE-20 sounded.
Hey man nice video! So it's 2021 now, is there any new or good Mic for around $500? The only good one I see so far is the Neumann TLM 102 but it's $700
I think a better comparison would have been made by recording the mics at the same level. People are going to automatically think the louder mic is better. Also, the bigger picture is that a condenser mic vs a dynamic mic is apples and oranges - you use a condenser if your room is treated enough to accommodate a mic that can (annoyingly) pick up mouse farts from 5000 feet away while a dynamic is excellent at filtering out background sounds from destroying your recordings. These are two excellent mics used for entirely different scenarios. I own both of these mics and select which one I'm going to use according to the environment in which I'm recording. I also smooth them out with a DBX 286s, which makes it impossible to tell them apart.
You are being your own worst enemy! If I had watched this review last week, I wouldn't have beat myself up for the past few days on my decision to just buy the Stellar x2! I was at a debate on whether to get the x2 or the vintage, until I finally decided yesterday to get an x2. In my opinion the x2 sounded far better in your video. I am presently using an MXL v67i, which I bought about 10 years ago to record acoustic guitar. I since have started a UA-cam channel about a year and a half ago, and using the v67i for my voiceovers. I started out knowing nothing, and my early videos reflect that. My audio has improved, but still needs work. I actually called Tech Zone to help me in my decision. I was very impressed that a human answered the phone, not a machine! He was very helpful, and although I was serious about getting a x2 Vintage, he talked me into just getting the x2. He also said that if I bought the mic off of them directly, that I could record an audio file and send it to them, and they could simulate what the vintage would sound like, and if I liked that sound better, that they would pay return shipping, and exchange for the vintage for just the difference in cost! He said that he really seemed to think that I would be happier after he heard my voice, with the x2. After hearing this video, I can't wait until my new x2 arrives, which should be in a few days. Thanks for a great review, and please don't be so tough on yourself! Sorry for the long winded comment...
The Stellar X2 is a bit more sibilant than desired on your voice. I would eq down 2db somewhere near the 6kz frenquency in post prod. Still, X2 sound way better for my taste. Maybee because broadcast mics like the RE20 tend to feel less warm. i prefer the sound of a LDCondenser mic when the noise floor is below 10-12 db
Thanks. I have the RE20 but your X2 sounds leagues better. It seems that you were speaking CLOSER to the X2 than the RE20? Or is that just an illusions and you were about the same distance to both? Given that the X2 is half the price of the RE20, it is incredible. I'm tempted to get one... Thanks in advance for any comments. Excellent video.
I agree, those eyes are so gorgeous! They are all turning into little doggies right before our eyes. What is it about Aussies that make them so remarkable!
Oh how cute but I can’t even imagine!!! You handled that very well. 🤪😬😫❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was simply going to opine that pet friendly apartments have tenants who behave in the same manner. #notcool
Dude, you were wayyyyy too hard on yourself bro. I really respect your sincerity, and I am pretty much sure that I’m speaking for everyone when I say, It’s no big deal.... I respect even more now that what you’re saying in your videos will be truthful, and for that reason , I subbed....
WOW! What a difference, the X2 sounds so much fuller, more balanced, more clarity, etc.
Thank you Miguel! Don't be too hard on yourself, everyone makes mistakes and I think we all can empathize. I just appreciate that you could take the time to share your thoughts here to help others. In my opinion the X2 sounded better on your voice, it seems to have a broader frequency range with better detail and the proximity effect here compliments your voice really well! Also, the RE20 had that often associated radio broadcast vibe. I have both of these and the RE20 actually sounds slightly more flattering on my voice as it sounds a little smoother and more natural. Thanks again for the comparison!
Thanks again for another vid, mr. Lombana! No need to apologize at all. :)
Hi Miguel, no apology needed. Thanks for the comparison. I'm sorry but I think that your setup up needs a really good close look. Both Mics should sound a lot better than they do. They do not sound good at all..
I think its the compression used. It makes the audio sound very artificial.
I've come to the realization that it's UA-cam... I listen on my monitors and phones and then compare to the audio on here and it's night and day. The amount of compression on the vocal chain is almost nonsensical, quite literally only between 1 and 3 dB just to round things out. Another thing I've noticed is that I respect audio levels, I record between -20 and -12 for high peaks. When I play the video on my PC and use the 'stats for nerds' setting, it says my audio is around -15, what I'm now finding is that people are putting videos online that ride all the way up to -2 which is a lot louder than what I submitted. I'm happy with the mic, it sounds amazing here and honestly, that's all that matters. Will I be able to turn out a quality product with it, yes. Does it have to sound good in my UA-cam vids, doesn't matter, it's not where I work. I do appreciate the comments, however! Thank you.
@@miguellombana9847 I am talking about compression as an effect, not file size compression. Did you add any audio compression effects?
@@danielgallagher7807 If you read his comment, I think its quite obvious he understood that.
Thanks a lot for this well deserved update Miguel it takes a great man to do and to admit what you just did much appreciated. Good comparison video. All the best and happy holidays.
Thank you for the updated video. Still prefer the X2 over the EV RE-20. So much more crispness and clarity. The RE-20 sounds too trapped and closed off.
there isn't any repeater near me. i like what what you can do with dmr but the radio are too high in price if the internet goes down so does the dmr network. most repeater i have seen on repeaterbook.com are uhf. the radio on ebay are vhf. if you are going to get into dmr look puting out from (uhf mobile radio) $400-$1000 for the radios alone plus software and cable unless you know some that has the cable and software to program the radio. the sofware (not copy) will run between $65-$100 depins on the radio and software. the programing cable could run as much as $75 here again depins on the radio you have,. i would like to get into dmr but i can't see it anytime soon . DO your homework
kc4sbj1 Still better than standard FM, I just bought my first DMR UHF radio today for only $139 with shipping. The cable I already have for my kenwood radios and the software to program it is free on the companies website. In Michigan we have internet and working on microwaving all the tower sites (Central Michigan Emergency Network). You can travel across the whole network and not have to change a channel.....
No sorry, this gateway is closed access, the recording schedule for the net will be 1st Saturday of every month since that is a full world wide net and not an abbreviated net.
Can someone without a trbo radio use this to either just listen or talk too?
As I recall, the Livestream server software allows you to shoot the desktop and includes a zoom feature which should help you out with the fine tuning.
Mike I like where you were going with that, I'm going to contact the Livestream people tomorrow about what it would take to share a desktop, I can setup the system on a laptop and re-calibrate to a level that would make sense and leave it up for a while to see how much action it gets. Thanks for everything you did on the old VU, I'll see if I can help out for a while.
The video won't load.
PS: This really is a nice set-up that you have. The pro hardware and this display could be very useful for addressing audio issues...now if you could Livestream this, that would be the cat's meow! Appreciate the effort that goes into providing this to the Ham TRBO community.
Miguel...thanks for the recording but more to the point...I have given up my soapbox on audio issues. I've tried for over a year to get audio controlled as it trashes the RR server and sounds nasty...I use a compressor and spec an to condition the audio and try to stay just below the headroom in the RR server so that the distortion is reduced...I quite running the VU Meter on Livestream a month ago...and not a single inquiry about that. At least the Gen 2 radios seem to have better controls.
