Besides being an incredible piece of music, the pianist Lucas Jussen plays it perfectly and with so much emotion. I can listen to it over and over again. Stunning!

One of the best interpretations of a work that frankly expresses emotions that one didn't know one had. Saint-Saëns had enemies because he was so prodigious. Listen to how he always coaxes incredible sounds between the notes on the same instruments that have been used for centuries. Yes, it was written under the influence of his travels, but there is so much more in this piece that is metapsychological, tnat transcends time, place and even intention.

outstanding technique, dynamic range, musicality. this recording has everything. I was surprised when I saw his hands move like that which looks most unusual! especially during the trills.

Coming back to this magnificent performance of this magnificent piece four years later, I think about all the rage of the likes of horowitz - who does not even come close to Lucas Jussen's PERFECT playing, exactly as the master composer notated it.

I particularly liked his 3rd movement. A lot of delicacy in the playing. Almost a cantabile quality in the earlier sections.

Just listening to this again. My Dad passed thirty-five years ago. He wasn't a musician, but he had me listening to the Beethoven sonatas almost before I could walk, possibly earlier. I wish he could have heard this performance.

Simplesmente ESPETACULAR!!!

The Vladimir Horowitz recording of the 3rd Schubert Op 90 Impromptu, in G-flat, is the most sublime I have ever heard, played more slowly than most, and with exquisite lyricism and phrasing by one of the very greatest pianists of the 20th century. In this Schubert impromptu, which he recorded at age 84 in Vienna, Horowitz played with a much different kind of virtuosity than he was known for in his youth. I am now listening to the then 19 year old Arthur Jussen play the same piece, and I am both amazed and grateful that we have a young master among us. His recording is the closest I have ever heard to the Horowitz in terms of phrasing, lyricism, pure beauty. BZ, Arthur, from an old US Navy ship driver.

I agree! Horowitz's interpretation is the best for me, but Arthur plays very well too! I don't know if this is true or not, but he maybe say Horowitz's recording? Even if that's not the case, this performance is sublime!
