I’ve been looking for videos specifically showing a vet explaining the process of checking for binding, what it looks like (like a purple swollen cloaca), and how to apply some lubricants to help mama along. Seriously, thank you so much for the helpful, accurate, and informed information!

I had a macaw that I would not trust her around a another baby bird not hers . Every animal i had was scared of this one bird. German shepherd pitbulls would leave the room if they heard Scarletts bird feet walking in the kitchen.

It's crazy how these little guys are likely to outlive their owners in many cases. If you get a hatchling African Grey at, say, 18, that bird will likely see the rest of your life, up to the end and still live another 10 years. In so many cases, African Greys will have to switch ownership to the owner's sons or daughters. They're part of your family more than most other pets could ever be.
