Big Fish love Metal Lips
Переглядів 5 тис.28 днів тому
The fish have been picky but nothing draws them out like a metal lip. Solid 30lb bass smashes Metal lip surface swimmer . And a 10lb Gator Blue. Using metal lips are new to me but I can see why people love fishing with them. Plugs used : Salty Degenerate - Firminator , Outcast lures Danny swimmer Rod - ODM DNA 9' Reel - Van Staal vs200

First outing and on the hunt for striped bass. Though reports haven’t been good I’ve been itching to get out and I would say it did not disappoint. Condition were perfect (overcast sky’s, light rain, and not much wind) We fished a out going tide with water temps at 54

Took a trip to Montauk. Slept in the car for two days and grind it out for a pretty good bite under the light. The fall run has begun and what a great way to spend some time with a friend.

First Day of the Fall run as fluke season has come to a end. What a way to start fall fishing on the Jetty at Barnegat Light! The winds were howling right at our faces that day with a NE wind 15 to 25mph at times it felt more like 30. The bass didn't seem to mind even with the chocolate milk water. Gear used Rod 10'6 ODM DNA Reel Van staal VSX 200

LBI NJ Fishing 22 Blitz Bass and a Weakie
Went out jetty fishing on long island yesterday and caught some nice blues using the sinking version of this. Not too much different except you have to crank and twitch a bit more to get same action. Question for you...what hooks can you replace the treble hooks with and if u could put an amazon link that would be awesome. The sp catches fish but the treble hooks kill me.
Are you looking for a single hook variation? . I upgrade my split rings and hooks .
@@getreeling4513 yeah a single hook variation. The trebles are hard to take out of a blues mouth even with pliers.
I’m not sure . I use treble hooks
Inline single hooks. Google them. Links where to get and how to switch out
Sick vid...is that a chicken scratch sp minnow, floating or sinking?
Yozuri hydro minnow floating
Was a great morning everyone caught flounders and mega blues was fishing next to you guys we smacked them
It was a blast
Nice vid! With the sp bone minnow what size are you using and is it floating or sinking?
I’m using the larger ones , I think is called 17f . Floating . I cast out and every one crank I do a twitch
Thanks for the info and awesome video again. Used the sp bone floating and caught 6 nice blues including a couple over 10 pounds earlier today.
Hey what stringer was that you used to keep the blues on
Look up spear fishing stringer. I got it on Amazon
Rod n Reel set up????
9ft Odm DNA , reel is a 6000 tsunami saltx
fish. Nice I was down in Sea Isle 2 days ago and 1 flounder about 17❤😂
Beautiful video. Felt the chill, smelled the ocean. Thanks for sharing your fishing with us! God bless and safe travels.
🔥
Nice video 👍
Great video. You gave me anxiety, though. The unpleasant memories of bluefish and treble hooks.
Yea always a fear!
Yup. Try switching out to inline singles. Better for fish and fisherman
Nobody here until u post videos dummy
Perfect example of horsing it in and dude is right about the constructive criticism, gotta learn how to let a fish fight or you’ll have more damage to your gear sooner then you think..
What camera are you using? Looks very high quality lol
I use the Dji osmo action 4 with a polarized nd filter over the lens
All these people pissed… as long as you’re safely releasing the fish it doesn’t really matter at all, acting as if we aren’t all fishing the same damn tides anyway. Take out what you bring in and release the fish alive. We’re all doing this for the same reason😭
Beautiful bass great to see it on video. Made my day
Careful releasing those Blue Devils. They will turn and bite!
That would be insane lol
Stripers have no teeth ...you pussy
Is that NY
Never saw you adjust your drag? What is your fishing style called? I kept waiting for the hook to bend and lose your fish.
I typically keep my drag set at 15 lb pull force. Don’t really need to adjust it when at that setting . What would you recommend?
@@getreeling4513 If fighting a fish like the two you had on, that powerful, I would just have loosened the drag so their wasn't so much tension on the line, I did really think your hook was going to bend bc of the pressure on the pole and line. Just mho🙂
@Memo-nd6fj yea after watching the video I can see how where you are coming from. I’ll have to give that a try next time. I haven’t had luck with adjusting drag while a fish is on usually when I start messing with it I end up loosing the fish.
80 lb braid and a locked drag and they wonder why hooks bend and rod breaks and reels blow up
lol 30lb braid
Nice fishing
Did you finish the incoming or outgoing?
I find in the spring the outgoing is always best
Nice spot burn. Videos like this are the reason why there are 100 guys at a spot that used to be nice and quiet to fish. Thanks..
So where is it lol
I my self don't know where that is and don't care to know . Already looks like a lot of guys there , doesn't mean ppl will go and catch . Never understood why ppl act like they own spots . Long as ppl don't leave garbage all over the place or take shorts ..what's the big deal ?
The video just made me put a metal lip in my bag word up
oh that is cool i never heard it called a metal lip before? I am down in TX so, I know terms and names vary from one region to another. Although it is also possible that they use that term down here and I just ain’t fished enough to know. Since I am your typical occasional fisherman who would like to go more but budget concerns are real and, a man’s gotta work! haha. Anyways, cool. Going up northeast to try and catch a saltwater striper is definitely one of my “bucket list” dreams!
Out of curiosity what do people from TX call it?
just a little constructive criticism, hopefully it's not taken the wrong way. you're taxing your anti reverse on that stall. i was really worried when you placed your thumb on the handle to get leverage. that is not how you fight a fish on spinning tackle. gain on the fish with the bend of the rod and then take in line on the way down.
Yea normally I would be able to do that but the real was locking up on me do to a bad bushing . I have the staal being repaired . I went two seasons without servicing it. Normally I would pull leverage and then reel down but my timing was off due to the bad bushing. I appreciate the advice. Thank you . Tight lines
lota $$$$$$ for that reel🤔
It’s was just a bad bushing , already fixed
Had the same issue on my vs within the first year sheesh
@CrazyAlbertoKnee this is the first time in a couple years so hopefully it’s not a common thing
Another great video. Keep it up.
Thanks
Where that place
this guy is in cape may bruh
The spot burn to post slot fish is crazyyyyy
Nice class of fish...good effort
where are you fishing....MD, DE, NJ?
NJ
Super nice video 🌊🌊🌊🎣🗽
Good striper. What are the GPS coordinates of fishing.
NJ
Why is it taking so long to land a micro and schoolie bass in that surf? You can bring the fish right to your feet , and it’s a bucktail why are you using a boga? My GF lips bigger bass than that… and is a lot less excited . Get a grip . Over a minute to grab and release a little fish. Inexperienced at its finest but go head YT guy tell me how to tie my knots .
Thank you for your concerns. It’s all about having fun no rime or reason. Also no 1 right way to do things. Tight lines!
Insane to blow up such a nice spot. Theres literally 3 of you there!! Im from LI i could care less. Just saying… doesnt the joy you get from these fish outweigh the likes? I mean how much money do you think youll earn on here striper fishing from shore?? Anyway… have a good day!
Thank you for the comment. I’m just doing all this for fun not trying to make a buck. I’m just sharing my experiences. With that said I’m debating taking down the video due to the amount of people reaching out. Hope you have a great day . Tight lines
@@getreeling4513 the damage has been done the screenshots have been shared in every group chat already. Youre making enemies on here without even trying. People you share tides with. Ive heard stories of “content creators” getting chased out of tackle shops on LI by old salts. Even if thats not true, what a shitty rumor huh? Again you can film your experiences and make a lot of friends on here. Guys like sea money expertly hide where they fish. Just a thought!
It’s too effin’ late man, the amount of ppl that are actually very dangerous to fish around at night are coming here now and it’s only gotten worse. You’re a real hero dude … used to be a cycle of 20 guys a week here now look… lip that fish…. Googan …
@spotburnkillah3107 I don’t even know how to respond to this. The amount of people that are reaching out to me think it’s somewhere else . And one of these days I’ll make you proud but I’d rather not catch another treble hook to the hand.
You’re kidding. Another one. You guys are out of control. Have some respect entering others local waters. You’ll be sorry, real soon.
Do you own the ocean?
Where exactly is this in nj and do i need a surf rod for this and does any topwater for saltwater work????
I’m not entitled to give specific location that’s apart of the fun with finding spots and learning the areas . I was using a 10’6 rod that I use for surf fishing I like the length for casting distance. With that said there are plenty of ppl around me fishing 8’ to 9’ poles
Rod and reel setup?

Slow down your cadence on the top water. give a little pause every now and then when they blow up on it. they'll come back.
Thanks for the advice
