They are also called monomer erasers or high-polymer erasers. They're made of soft plastics that erase things delicately and cleanly, and are the favorite of artists. Around any artist's lair, you will find 3d6 well-used, broken or crumbling ones, 1d6 lightly smudged erasers and 1d4 packs of pristine erasers tucked away among other supplies, likely forgotten by the artist until it is desperately searching for an open eraser. The current open eraser will inevitably already be sitting on the artist's desk, or on any flat surface adjacent to where the artist was last working, only to be found once the new pack is opened. Additionally, an artist may be in possession of an eraser or pencil that they have had since school, which will be a bit gone off and entirely useless for its purpose at this point in time. However worthless this is to the adventurer, it is a great prize to the artist, who guards it jealously among its other tools, keeping it among them "so it won't feel left out."
