I'm Back!
I've finally recovered from my finger injury after 12 weeks in a splint. It feels sooo good to play normally again. Can't wait to start posting again👍

Unlearn what you have learned!

I woke up last Sunday with a detached ligament in the tip of my left hand middle finger which was pointing down at a 45 degree angle! A trip to minor injuries and was told I have a case of " mallet finger" and instructed to wear a splint continuously for 8 weeks. I can play but have had to do some serious fingering substitutions in the absence of using my poorly finger. All good practice!
Sus chord slap

As a Bass player I love the challenge of playing over suspended chord types as the bass can literally change the harmonic path of the tune depending on what root notes you outline

Great to have you back! Great performance!
@@renssy Thank you sir!
Back and slap-happy! Welcome back - glad all on the mend :)
@@billlandon2160 Thanks Bill. I hope I don't have to go through that again!
Lovely tone of your fretless bass. Merry Christmas as well.
@@renssy Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you too 🎉⛄
Very nice!
Merry Christmas Mark! Hope you and yours have a warm and merry Christmas!
@@billlandon2160 Merry Christmas Bill. Have a great time 😁
@ Hope the new year brings all that you wish and well-deserve. You always rock no matter the predicament, as the video shows. Valiance and vigilance will make the narrow path glow. Cheers on Christmas!
Such a cool sound!
@@billlandon2160 It's an incredible unit Bill. You have to play very cleanly to get the notes to articulate correctly but it's a beast. I'll definitely be using this on the next LO3 album 👍
Nice! Amazing sound patch!!! Missed ya the past couple weeks - hope you were on holiday enjoying life!
@@billlandon2160 Thanks Bill just been busy!! The future impact is my new toy and awesome so I'll be posting some more videos showing it of 👍
@ it creates a very nice harmonizing of the melody too, but only with good melodies :)
Mark's percussive funk - love it
Yo, Mark...'been thinkin'...🤔 You've shown us so many different "voices" & tech chops that it has me wishing that you might someday lay down a short multitrack composition or cover, where you play everything from lead, to backing/second, rhythm and even percussion all on your bass. ❤️I think it would be amazing.
Wow
Yeah man
Yeah man
Saturday morning grooves getting contagious. Those furious and nearly obstreperous runs man! Madman!!
are you trying to tell me something?
@@AndyEdwardsDrummer Too much finger gymnastics I think LOL
Nice groove
@@billlandon2160 Thanks Bill. I'm acclimatizing to limited use of an important finger so an afternoon of straight bass playing was a worth while exercise 😁
@ had an injury? Im sure you’ll heal up or accommodate seamlessly
Always look forward to the Saturday shred! Wish there was a Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday shred too!
The law of *four (strings, that is). Nice!
Nothing sus about this guys effortless slappin' flow!
@@sam-jams6689 Thanks dude 🙏
Awesome playing! Man Warwick basses sound so good
@@stinkende_shiba-x1o Thanks man. Warwick are the best!! 👍
I wanted a Streamer Pro-M BAD as a teenager lol.
@@me5ponk454 They're great!
You clearly play well. You should do some less abstract songs when you do slap bass. A lot of people would love it
@@purdysanchez Thanks for the comment Purdy! I do play all styles of music and more mainstream sometimes. Here's one of my more conventional sessions I did ....ua-cam.com/video/rqUQikzeKy8/v-deo.htmlsi=9xirBkBAIAbeNqGL
Really like it. You should look at getting an audio interface such as a Presonus Studio 24c so we get to hear the bass direct rather that through a microphone. It also sounds fantastic to practice using headphones with them.
@@NealFosterHD Thanks Neil. I've got a Scarlett which I do use all the time. Im quite impulsive with the UA-cam videos so tend to grab my bass and off I go but thanks for the comment I may put some direct stuff up soon 🙂
Insaneee bass!!! Nice video
Slappocalypse!
Funkin love it!! I really need to learn how to slap
Holy crap, Mark That's simply stunning.

Now that's NICE
Good flow 😋😋😋😋
Sweet! Thanks for the Saturday present 🎁😃
@@billlandon2160 A pleasure !
That was great buddy
Thanks man
Beautiful
Luv the groove buddy. What fretless bass are you playing?
Thanks dude. I'm playing a Fender jazz bass special which is basically a precision body, jazz neck and PJ pickups. I bought it new in 1990 which was when Fender started experimenting a bit more with the bass configs as we'd all been customising our stock models. Plays great 😃👍
@@markhartleybass1633 sounds great luv it
Lovely.
Many thanks David ☺️
That's what's up
Thanks Monty! 😀
Nice bass! ✌️😃👍
Nice bass... Nice groove...
Thank you Sir!
Thanks.
Smooth and groovy ❤❤❤❤
Ideaman! Always an impeccable groove
Thank you Sir!
Definitely wanna Warwick 5 string fretless bass now. Also Billy Sheehan Yamaha attitude bass. Dream bass is a Gibson Thunderbird white. But love sound of a fretless.
Hi Darren. Try them all!I've played bass since 1985 starting on a Westone thunder to then a Fender P bass for about 15 years. When I bought my Warwick which I always admired as a young player it changed everything for me because of the design of the bass which I still love 20 + years later with some minor tweaks. Try everything until you find close to comfortable. Fretless is just awesome too. Ps It's no secret Billy is my rock bass hero ;)
@@markhartleybass1633 I played cello through school years. Very easy transition from cello to bass. Plus I have perfect pitch so it easier to find the notes. I have a cheap bass now fun to jam on. Get better one in future.
So groovy !
Thank you 👍
Very nice playing... sound is amazing
Thank you so much 🙏
Awesome awesome job
Very, very cool!
Thanks man 😊
Hi! What's the function of the piece of wood on the right side of the bass? I bought a used fretless bass and have the same or similar piece. Thanks 👍🏻
Hi Diego this is called a bass ramp which is very useful to create an even picking zone across the area where your right hand plays. We all tend play over a pick up when playing normally which means the gap between strings and pickups is small. The ramp allows you to maintain this distance which is great for fast picking !
@@markhartleybass1633 I see 👌🏻Thanks for your answer!
