A short trip to Woolacombe
Driving down to Devon just has to be one of my all time favourite drives particularly from the beginning of Exmoor onward, it is just so very beautiful and full of happy memories for me.

My tips for a stress free holiday
Переглядів 1507 років тому
Planning and preparing for a holiday can be stressful at the best of times but when you have an illness to contend with it can be worse than ever, often having a negative effect on the actual holiday. On the run up to our first little family get away I came up with a plan to alleviate some of that stress and thankfully it worked!

Hi! Just starting to look thru your videos as I’m researching real people’s reactions to Levo VS NDT or T3….! I’m a bit confused Lol! A drugs truck?? So the NHS gave you NDT and sent a guy round in a drugs truck, like the milk man but for meds? How the heck do you get NDT out of the NHS? Did you do a magic spell or something lol? Xx

Vivienne Newman Hi, it's quite a while ago now but I joined a Facebook group that gave suggestions on what to do and when, it's changed name now but it was based around the book Stop the thyroid madness. I personally stopped the levothyroxin one day and started the NDT the next, if I remember correctly it was a quarter of a grain and I built up every 10 days. You may find the book helpful. Good luck x

put cacao in your smoothies.... it is chocolate heaven without the guilt.. just one little teaspoon transforms a smoothie. Also as an alternative - banana ice cream and date syrup. Blend a few dates with water and a little bit of cacao powder for a caramel delight on top of frozen bananas blended up in a food processor, !! Also I love Cookie... she has taken reach4raw down which has made me sooo sad!!! I am angry that the haters got to her

    • @bringmesunshine5243
      @bringmesunshine5243 7 років тому

sheraine you have just reminded me that I have some cacao powder (amongst other things that cost a small fortune but haven't been used up) I'll add the date syrup to my shopping list, sounds tasty. Severely allergic to banana, even the smell so will find an alternative. Thanks x Oh don't get me started with how some people are with cookie! We've been friends for over 10 years and I can say she's as lovely in real life and does not deserve the flack some throw her way. I say some because I can see the huge majority are very supportive but it only takes one or two bad apples as they say. What I can't understand with the internet is if people are upset or annoyed with how someone like cookie is living her life why don't they just unsubscribe or stop following, why the nastiness? She's not hurting anyone, she's just trying to live her dream. I think I actually feel more sorry for those people than I do for her, how much hate they must have in their heart to take time out of their day to deliberately try to hurt someone else.

Hi Ana x That's a negative on both of those unfortunately, he just won't even though he can see with Cookie and Dave it has such a positive effect and for the pain in particular I have told him about a few people who suffer from chronic pain who have had a new lease of life but still no. It's surprised me really because as well as being a fireman and auxiliary nurse back in the day he was also a trained fitness instructor and trained in nutrition, when we first met he was the worst kind of food police you could imagine but not any more. I get that juices are not going to unbreak his back or untrap his nerves or sort his bulging discs back etc but I've heard it helps with inflammation which would help with some of the pain i imagine. We have a brand new juice (two actually as they were on offer lol) in the loft, unopened. I even offered to do it too, but still no. Same with the documentary, I haven't yet watched the whole thing myself and asked if he would watch it with me but he never did. I don't want to nag him, I wish i has a magic wand.

Health??? hmmm I think a little better since switching back to Thiroyd but that could just be in my head but then even if it is I'm fine with that as long as I am feeling a bit better. I'm still quite tired but then I am not going to bed at a reasonable time and I am up early neither of those is going to help. My nails seem to be growing faster and feel quite hard which is a first i think. The memory is much the same. Migraines seem up with the addition of mild earache which seems constantly there at times, I've never in my life had earache before, it's horrible. My joints are quite achy still but then I'm not that fit so again that is something else that doesn't help. I am feeling a little bit more positive generally and wanting to do things and I am happier about that as i really had lost my drive or lust for life, i'm not saying it is back but the spark is there i can feel it. Thank you for asking. How are things with you? x

I think T4 also plays an important roll in how we feel. ive noticed that on synthetic t4 but it didn't quite complete the picture and after 10 yrs things just got worse. if I ever take t4 again it won't be synthetic it'll be the bio identical kind which only the compounding pharmacy makes. synthetic anything is junk in my eyes.

under my ring finger? No, not since I coated the inside of the ring with nail polish. I must have become sensitive to the platinum and also white gold but the polish made a barrier between the metal and the skin so no more sore finger thankfully. strange to have worn the rings for so many years then become sensitive almost over night? I think moving to a new house put in the countryside must have played a part and perhaps the stress prior to the move?

I have to agree. from what I have read (and as anyone can see I am in no way, shape or form knowledgeable on the subject) we need all of the hormones the Thyroid would normally produce so I can't quite understand how T3 or T4 only work but they must as lots of people seem to feel way on them.

explain more about your scaly hand. I had heaps of eczema on my right hand when I was on heaps of synthetic T4. it went away when I reduced my dose. I'm on ndt now 2.5 grains and the eczema on my hand is 90% gone but I'm still low on the meds I'm thinking if I go higher on it the hand will get a lot more eczema again.

why don't you check all your other hormones too, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, dhea especially. as far as I know a ladies hormones change ranges at different times of the month. watch Dr hotze channel they talk a lot about it as well as the ndt.

Ana Moreno-Tapia Rivas Hello x I've also heard others say the same but I absolutely believe that for me it was the beginning of the end (she says dramatically lol). I was doing great on 3 grains of Thiroyd then it was recommend in a group that I was pooling so to swap to T3 only, so I did. since then I have just felt worse. At one point I changed to Thyroid S but still feel rubbish only now old things I'd forgotten about have returned such as these blinking horrible periods, aching joints, back ache and other little things. It really is a pain in the bum having a wonky thyroid isn't it.

The sad truth is they (healthcare and big pharma) would like you to think if you take NDT it could cause such chaos to the system, such a big lie, you almost can't overdose on it, your body will tell you very quickly if you took too much or too little and T3 will be out of your system within hours either way, its actually easier to dose on this natural cure than to take some synthetic lab created medication. I'm so glad for you to take the step of being your own advocate, we all need to be our own representative when we feel we are not being heard, when we find out the reason we are told not to take this "natural" medication is really all about the money in the healthcare industry

Growing up I'd had quite a few operations on one of my feet/leg and grew up with a lot of leg, back and joint pain which my Mum called growing pains (I'm surprised I'm not much taller as I still get them now lol). I think I was just used to being in that type of pain. When I met my Husband who has been to a lot of pain management courses he tried to explain to me that it was best to try and keep the pain under control when it flares rather than leaving it until it's almost unbearable, which I had been doing. Now I think I've tried most over the counter meds for one thing or another but have given up on finding one for the migraines. You made me smile when you said about realising what was causing your painful knee. I had the same thing a few years ago, it wasn't until after seeing the Dr that I too realised I sat in a strange position, once I sat properly it went after a while but I still have to be mindful of how I'm sitting. it was the same with my shoulders, I couldn't understand why they hurt so much then I caught my reflection and noticed I stand and sometimes walk with my hands behind my back!?? what is that about? I'm obviously channeling my inner Columbo haha.

I hope the meds work for your migraines ! I had to cut gluten for my acid reflux and I also rarely eat dairy or chocolate! I know not much fun. I do still do gluten free oatmeal and brown rice or wild rice. it's really hard when every one else is eating regular food but so is having acid reflux. maybe your all ready gluten free. Did you happen to view the thyroid secret it was like a free 9 part series with Isabella Wentz. take care hugs!!

Hi Julie, thank you x I have everything crossed! I must say that it does get worse when I eat some types of chocolate which is worrying as I do love the chocolate. It's funny to think that it was only a few years ago a friend tried to explain what acid felt like but I just couldn't imagine it as I had never experienced anything like it. I had it for the first time whilst pregnant and it just hasn't gone away, my little one is 3! I'm wondering why it just started and is this it now? am I just going to have it forever? My friend really did not do it justice with her description though, I would describe it more like someone with a flame thrower trying to burn their way through from your insides whilst sloshing lemon juice on the tender areas for good measure. One of my strongest memories is of my Dad pacing and rubbing his stomach whilst swinging pink stuff from a white bottle, this was an every day occurrence. now all of a sudden I've turned into him although I do try to down my medicine in the privacy of the bathroom lol. I think I am in denial as to the fact that my diet really needs addressing haha groan. I hope you are well?

Happy New Year..I am so sorry about your headaches..Chronic pain horrible. I am glad you are seeing your Doctor Friday. Hopefully the good doctor can help you. Your rice hat was a stroke of genius..love it!..Only advice I can think of for sleeping is Melatonin..natural product to aid sleep. I am going to also look at migraines and see what other options are holistic that you might try. I did not make any resolutions this year...did not feel like it. Trying just to be kinder to people and think before I speak..

Deborah, hellooooo lovely lady xx Thank you, that will probably be my best idea all year haha it's working a treat at the moment which is a blessing. Roll on Friday, I have been given the name of a prescription medication by a local pharmacist who says it can be taken when a migraine starts rather than having to take it daily. Fingers crossed the Dr will let me take it without referring me again. thanks for the reminder of the melatonin, I had heard about it a while back but the information must have fallen out of my ear along with everything else I once knew! lol please don't go to any trouble on my account, I know how busy life gets without adding to it haha I'm glad I'm not the only one rebelling against the resolution. I am absolutely with you though when it comes to trying to be more mindful of what I am saying. I never intentionally try to hurt people's feelings but I'm human and sometimes...Well more times than I care to admit to, I say things that come out completely wrong and not how I meant it. I then go on to making things worse as I try to explain and apologise. I would like to be a nicer person and as I say just try and be more mindful and tolerant of others. I usually am but again I'm not perfect so it doesn't do any harm to keep an eye on our behaviour towards others does it. x How are you doing? Well I hope. I'm sending you a virtual hug x

Kenny Dang Hello there, I'm sorry I'm only just answering you but it's a bit on the busy side here haha. I feel bad that I can't answer your question off the top of my head and my bottle is back at home. I'm only on my phone at the moment which is a little limiting but if I remember correctly you can go on to the stop the thyroid madness website and somewhere there it has the ingredients for the different thyroid meds (I'm almost positive). sorry I can't be any more help at the moment.
