I have booked my business class classic reward trip for next year,yes it was very time consuming but it all came together in the end🎉The question is I would like to add another flight and I have phoned qantas and they said I can't. I was just wondering if you could look at my itinerary. From what I can see, I'm still under the segment's Liz

I have to first apologise for the late reply! I have just seen this (also some others) I had a Internet glitch about a month ago, maybe the reason? Anyhow......I don't believe you will be able to book seats through Qantas that you have seen on another airline's site, as they are added at different times. British Airways maybe have a different deal with Qatar as Qantas does. I know I have found seats on Qatar through Velocity that didn't come up on the Qantas site for the same flight. But just so I understand, are you booking a RTW ticket? And Qantas does offer seats by status, where others may not.

Hello. I have never heard this, and the Qantas staff never seem to know much about RTW flights, and have never really helped me with any of my questions. What dates are you looking at and where do you want to go What is the route that you have tried? Maybe I might have answers

@@travelbugsue Hello Sue, It seemed very odd to me and the customer service seemed to have very minimal understanding of the rules and kept coming back to say “it’s normal for the flights to go above your desired amount”. That would be wonderful, thank you! My flight paths that I’m looking at is Melbourne to Paris (Dec 28th 2024) Casablanca to New York (14th Jan) New York to Raleigh/Durham (15th Jan) Raleigh/Durham to Dallas/Ft.Worth (18th Jan) Dallas to Melbourne (25th Jan 2025)

@@allisonhudson8768 Hi Allison, I think your problem may be your dates. I can't be sure but I think the 28th Dec or maybe all of them are in a blackout time because of the season? I have checked that itinerary and yes it comes up as 167,600 points. which is fabulous at that time of year! Many people are pulling their hair out to get seats. And leaving it this late as well....you are in luck. I don't have any other answers, but if I was you I would definitely lock them in. That's assuming of course you have enough points in your account. I will keep checking on this as it interests me to the "why" and let you know if I find anything else

Hey Margaret! No, both cards and programs are completely different. You can only use Qantas points to book flights with Qantas and you can only use Velocity points to book Virgin or their partner airline flights. Completely different identities. You cannot mix and match. It's probably best to stick with only one if you are trying to build up points

this is a hard one, and I get asked all the time. unfortunately I haven't nailed this. Yes I agree that it is hard. You cannot lock in flights and add later as far as I know, but I believe you can do it for a fee when calling Qantas. Sorry I don't have the magic answer, but I don't give people false hope and am always up front. If I find a way, I will definitely be posting it!

@@travelbugsue , earlier you discussed how to use qantas interactive map and booking techniques which were very helpful.... would like to discuss variety of ways to gather points...i am studying velocity and seems better now. The main reason being , their points don't expire for 36 months

Hello, This was booked mid 2022 through Qantas Hotels. It was the superior room. Only 4 of these rooms in the Hotel. it cost AU$1,323 for 4 nights. Thurs, Fri, Sat , Sun

I believe this card will only default to the currencies you have changed your money to. Otherwise you will pay big fees to exchange it at the time. This review is quite old, but we never take these off UA-cam. I now suggest using the "Wise" card. It is much cheaper and so many more currencies available and also in real time. Meaning you can send money in a second. I know this probably doesn't help you now, but I have never heard of a default currency on the Qantas Card. Default would be AU Dollar if you haven't sent your dollars to a certain currency, then it will automatically use the currency of the country you are in. And I hope THAT makes sense!

Yes, it is no problem transferring money back to your account. I have just done this with 4 currencies

Hello, I am not quite sure what you are saying. Where do you see 816? All of Qatar Airways new Airbus A350-1000 and numerous A350-900s offer QSuites in Business Class. @@leasmith2997 OK, sorry I had to play that back again as it was a long time ago I did this Video. I thought you meant MY actual RTW ticket that I had put on line. It’s the Economic ticket when showing how to do it. And I see….. many people have asked me this, even with my ticket I put up (which I have just returned home from) Because i chose to fly with Qatar, the flight will have to go via the airline’s hub, and that is Doha, so I believe this does not affect the RTF rules. My recent flight (if you have a look) was the same as I returned to Tokyo. But you will see the points are correct amount at the end! I hope that makes sense
