I may not say exactly where I’m at that day but I don’t hide landmarks either, so if you are anyone else notices the area that’s ok with me. But there are some places I can’t show only bc I don’t see very many people at certain spots and kinda want to keep them to myself lol. And you’re very right fish swim and depending on the conditions they might be there or might not be but that’s how you learn an area and remember those conditions for future trips…well at least I try to. So I was using a custom rod by my buddy Jason Hodge all the info and set are in the descriptions in all my videos fyi, but it is a 7’ Mod/Fast RAINSHADOW REVELATION blank awesome rod paired with a Lew’s Tournament LITE Speed spool SLP LGG 1SH

So durning the winter I wear DRYFT waders and jacket, they are only online but have been some great waders. I really like their bundle where you can get your waders and jacket for under 1K! I have a Bay Devil wade belt and fish bag. I have a pair of Simms lace up boots for when I’m wearing waders and then spring/summer I have Simms wader II boots zip up which I love them. Hope this helps man

Yes sir it is and in the 8.2:1 gear ratio, I also have it in the 7.2:1 as well. Really been enjoying these reels and they pair great with the custom 6'6'' and 6'7'' custom rods by ET Coastal Rod Co.

I always used spinning reels growing up, I'm 44 and just got back into fishing a couple years ago and being a Texan I've heard I'm not one unless I use baitcast so I purchased the tranx 200 7:2:1 on a 7' st croix triumph medium. I was wonder if I should go up to a medium heavy rod with that reel since I've heard it's more of a swim bait reel, like I'm getting a little too much bend when working a lure???? Or maybe I shouldn't smoke so much when I fish hahaha

Yea the Tranx are a great reel and I fish with the 150 in the 7.2:1 and 8.2:1 gear ration and really enjoy them. Yea you might have to with that reel, or try to downsize the Tranx to a 150 and pair it with a 7' Medium-Fast or Mod-Fast. With one of these setups you can throw plastics with a 1/16oz or 1/8th oz jig head all the way from a Double D, Corky and Topwater with no problem. With still having the sensitivity and backbone for upper slot redfish. Hope this helps brotha and if you got any other questions don't hesitate to hit me up, happy to help and tight lines.

Thanks Neal I appreciate the info! I’ve never heard that before about push on jig heads I guess I’ll have to give them another try. I used to use them but some of the plastics I threw were too soft and would pull out when fish would bite behind the hook. So that’s when I started using twist-lock jig heads and never looked back. Yes normally in the early morning is when you catch speckled trout. But I have caught some around noon as well. Normally when it gets really hot the trout bite dies off.

Yes sir thank you. That was a very good day on the water. So there it was a grass flat anywhere from 3’ to 4’ that we were wading with pole mixed in there. As you moved away from the shoreline with had a gradual drop off.

It was a soft bite and on the pause. Not the instant the pause started but a second or two after. A sensative rod helps!

Thanks brotha much appreciated! So the wind did pick up later in the morning blowing around 20mph and the bite died off. We picked up a few dink trout later in the day. I know that wind has been brutal down there.

Yes sir they really are and Oil Slick is an awesome looking color. Oh nice sounds like that color would work good or even Old Penny. Also I've done well with Royal Grape in stained water as well.
