Dittersdorf concerto from my Masters recital in November 2020. There’s a big ooopsie in the 2nd movement where I added a “jazzy blue note”. 😂

Skill, talent and hardwork combine to give beauty
Sublime
I’m trying to order the book so I can give it to my accompanist, what book did you use
Yorke - Complete Works of Bottesini

Great playing Sharif! Bravo!

For personal use Measure 4: 0:40
Fantastic tutorial wow. Please if anybody could give me their fingering options for me first 12 bar's or so. I would be so very grateful I'm having a private war with myself and all the different ways to approach this peice.
Gee!😳 16 beats on a double bass? That must have been tough one!^^; BRAVO!👍👍
연주 잘 들었습니다~^^
Do you have any tips on how to make the large jumps smoother and faster like at 0:34

There are many ways. We have to practice scales and arpeggios in order to first understand the distance we are traveling, then give the shift context. If it’s lyrical it has to be connected, so you practice the connection between the two notes by sliding into the top or bottom note exactly at the moment you intend to. So generally you end up practicing bigger shifts quite slow until you are confident enough to find the note every time - then you add the context/rhythm in to the shift and add the other notes from the passage around it. You’ll also find that distances you are shifting are usually pretty consistent - certain intervals like 6ths and octaves are pretty common so you’ll start to run into them in other pieces as well.
@@Sharifibrahim501 This is a really well constructed and nuanced answer, actually!! However, your answer's brevity on 'how to practice; what to practice; what to look for when practicing.." doesn't do justice to the beautiful sound that you and your bass were making. Truly, a very nice, warm performance!! Great playing!!
Bravo, very nice tone and musicality
That Bass!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!
можно ещё?)))
Man sounds great. I just started working on it maybe 2 - 3 weeks ago and it helps a lot to have a recording without solo tuning. So thanks man, really appreciate it. Keep up the good work!
Bravo!It’s wonderful bass sound.
Oh, lazy Pergo, show a starry face. Make those lusty fingers trace, a place that we might, purge our lazy souls, so contrite we are, neath Virgin's magic gaze.
Bravo Sharif. Interesting piece. Stunning playing. What's your bass?
Thanks. The bass was made in 1897 by Custode Marcucci.
@@Sharifibrahim501 Marcucci is a big name in Italy. Al the best
@@ositoCastro I’m pretty sure this is the only one in the US. I love it.
@@Sharifibrahim501 Ken Smith had one in his web
@@ositoCastro that is the one that I own 😉
Wonderful playing! Did you make your own transcription or you used someone else's?
Is that your transcription it you made your own?
😍
Sounds great!!
Dang! Are you like 50 years old and have been playing that thing for 40 years??? That was just beautiful...went with my morning coffee...couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you! Kudos to your accompanist too! Good pairing.
Both the pianist and I are very familiar with the piece having studied and performing it before. He was once a bass player before becoming a conductor! We put a lot of thought into the interpretation because I always felt that is commonly “overcooked” when performed. I’d love to re record it it and polish some things but overall I think that it reflects a more simple and relaxed mood.
Amazing! Really highlights the entire range of the bass! 😍
Very nice! Do you know where I can get the sheets in C-Major (Piano parts). Thanks!
What a pleasure to hear again this piece ! Bravo 👏👏👏 Beautiful sound !
What a terrific player ! Great to hear this piece. !!!
I just came across this wonderful performance by accident. Thank you Sharif! Richard Wilson
Wow! I really enjoyed getting to know this piece. It is a wonderful composition in it's own right, and a powerful addition to the double bass repertoire.
Love your sound!
Warum Maske an??
Incredible!
Excellent
Amazing rendition of the piece! It’ll be helpful for me to have a good reference recording that’s not in solo tuning as well
The scroll is really crooked, and this is unique!
Thank you for posting this. Excellent sounds, I will listen to more old music.your tone is great.
Thanks a lot for sharing! Very elegantly done, hope I'll ever get even half as good as you.
Everyone is on their own journey :) The only goal is to be better than you were the day before.
This sounds great!!!
Love this.
Me too :)
Beautiful, a nice arrangement, wonderfully played, and the sound and video are excellent. Really one of the nicest-sounding bass quartet videos I know of (along with the Korean Emeth Ensemble's Bach Air on the G String).
Hi Sharif, how's everything going? I am writing to you because I saw your interpretation of bach 4, and I liked it, could you share the pdf of this arrangement, please and thank you! :)
What kind of double bass do you have?
