Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square | Out There Santa Rosa
In this Vlog, No Chill Mustafa from out there Santa Rosa explores Santa Rosa’s Historic Railroad Square Neighborhood. Railroad Square in Santa Rosa is a unique neighborhood where old meets new. This neighborhood is surrounded by historic buildings, small businesses and the smart train runs right through it. On our journey, we were in search of retro finds.
Batcave Comics and Toys was our first stop. Inside Batcave Comics and Toys we were able to talk to one of the owners about the store and the prototype toys they had on display. Mounted on the wall were various different pieces of art by local artists on sale.. A unique feature about Batcave Comics andTtoys is that they currently have the largest comic wall in Northern California. Some of the comics dated back to the 1940’s.
After Batcave Comics and Toys, we ventured into Whistle Stop Antiques, one of Santa Rosa‘s most popular antique stores. Inside whistle stop antiques, we looked at three of their most popular items. Their most sought after items included bakelite jewelry, vintage signs and vintage jewelry. People come from all over the Bay Area to Whistle Stop Antiques in search of those items.
Railroad Square offers multiple great places to eat. We stopped at Grossman’s Noshery and Bar. Inside Grossman’s we were able to talk to the chef and the general manager. The general manager filled us in about the mini scavenger hunt they have in their restaurant. The owners of Grossman’s are huge fans of the show “Friend’s” so they hid tons of Friend’s references around the restaurant. In the video we get to see a few of those references but we challenge you to stop by and see how many you can find. Don’t leave without trying their signature cocktails.
No trip to Railroad Square is complete without visiting Disguise the Limit. Disguise the limit is a costume shop that not only sells costumes but also has them available for rent. Along with all of their costumes, they also have many other items including some vintage and retro ones.
After leaving Disguise the Limit, we stopped at Fourth Street Cellars to let everyone know about their two tastings for one special when you mention Out There Santa Rosa. Yes-you can find deals like these all over Santa Rosa so make sure you follow us on social media and subscribe to our videos.
After Fourth Street Cellars, we also stopped at Nimble and Finns Handmade Ice Cream. Nimble and Finn’s offers handcrafted ice cream cocktails. We had to try winter in California.
Thank you for joining us on these adventures, remember to like, subscribe and share with your friends. We look forward to creating more of these. See you on the next adventure.

Yes, the Church of One Tree really was built from only one redwood tree! Years ago, it was also the location of the Robert Ripley ("Believe It Or Not") Museum - he was from Santa Rosa, and had a beloved long-running syndicated cartoon about fantastical, unbelievable but real things. And Juilliard Park was also the site in Santa Rosa of the first Earth Day celebration here. 🙂
