I think he was doing something like this, with his own sorta guitar PA, back in the 70s so this must be an evolution of that idea with modern gear. Reverb is essential for a live rig…otherwise solos can sound dead….just too dry with no carryover….thats my preference anyway

Gen X player here and this was the same “observation” when PRS became the “boutique” guitar in the mid to late 80’s. Thing is Suhr IS NOT a 62 Strat (original or reissue). Very good guitars but if I want a Stratocaster I want the real thing. And most of us like customizing / upgrading our guitars. I don’t really want a guitar that’s someone else’s version of “perfect”.

The neck is weird and the pickups are bitey.

Ive had one of these for a year and its only been out the box three times. So I plugged it into my scarlett 2I2 interface with direct monitoring ON, and the volume is so low compared with every other bit of audio that I was playing on my laptop I found it unusable... what am I doing wrong? Playing along to a spotify track for example, even with everything maxed out I have to put the spotify volume down to like 10% to be able to play along. Is it because I am expecting to hear this thing through the direct monitoring? If I was to play with a band and plug this into a PA is it really loud enough?

I've owned the Flint for a couple of years, and I absolutely love harmonic tremelo. Before that pedal, I had a Mr. Black Deluxe Deluxe Plus reverb/tremelo, and I miss the reverb on that pedal, lol. I've never tried those Boss pedals

The CE-2W is more upfront, the DC-2W is more laidback - sound is subjective, but I hear more mids in the CE-2W, whereas the DC-2W is flatter. DC-2W really shines in a stereo setup. For a straight-ahead chorus, it's hard to beat the CE-2W.

The rosewood sounds kind of dark brown, the maple sounds more tan. 👍

Is it better to run your iridium straight into your audio interface? Or is it better to go stereo out from the iridium to a pinstripe line isolator and XLR out into the audio interface?
