IGNORE MY CRASHES IM NEW TO DALBY :( Wasn't feelin 100% but i had to go back to Dalby for my 2nd time. Heavy rainfall night before, I WILL GO BACK WHEN IT'S DRY and get to 2 hrs or lower no stops D: Fun Day hope you enjoyed, will fix cam ang. lata
Did it full Aug 17th 2024, first time. On hardtail. 3hours to ride it. 5hours start to finish with stops. Ebikes blasting on the flowy stuff, didnt see any do the technical tho. All just full sus bikes. My thighs were burning after, its 22miles/24 with gradients. And seriously washed out on some descents making them sketchy. Anyone watching this and/or hasnt been needs to add a correction factor for steepness of 5 fucks before they comment and consider that the fatigue level on an ebike is considerably less by the time you 11 miles deep trying to recover on the fireroad
Would be very interesting to see this effort retried and filmed in full in 2023 (five years since this video was posted), as the trail has eroded considerably in some places (a few spots have been repaired, changing the way that part rides), new 'challenges' have been added, and in some places the route is entirely different; these factors will surely affect the possible lap times. Good effort though, have to be very fit to do it non-stop, enjoy the capability while you can!
Great video, Dalby was my favourite place. If you can do the full red and the black 4 mile loop together in under 2 hours, you are seriously fit. I did the red in just under 2 hours a couple of times, but not when it was soaking wet, or hot sunshine. 1.05:44 there it is, my favourite bench to stop for a bite to eat halfway (ish) when I wasn't going for a timed run. I notice all the lame 'how is this a red' comments are from people who have never been there, and would be destroyed trying to get round in under 2 hours 30 mins. Comments from lazy fat downhiller's who want bike lifts at every incline are not valid.
Never been here ,but now I will and can ,I will use this video as a route guide to get to know the place ,thanks ..
Does this finish back at the start
i am thinking to go to Dalby forest but i am more like technical and jump supporter is it worth it as far as i saw its just long trails and exausting claims
There is a Black route with more technical stuff, rock gardens and big drops etc, and there's the BMX track at Adderstone.
@Jonny Morris I was there I know I went with one local and he was surprised I managed to get down on my Specialized FSR full suspension 2010 no fancy forks totally original and I am 16 Stone 118kg I know that was fun concentration 1000000% on trail that's what I liked
Exactly the same time as me, my target is under 2hr.
good going, did this loop last week, 2hr 30 but with a lunch and snack break, and i was done in.
@51:12 - stopped for 1 second! lol
Great to watch whilst on lockdown. Chomping at the bit to get back out there as its my local. Maybe in a week or two hey.
How enjoyable would this trail be on a cross country hardtail?
I've done the red route on my hardtail. It's class fun, thoroughly recommended it.
did it on a carrera vengance 2019. beat the absolute shit out of me but it was fun
Good on you, fastest I've done is 2:25, stopping for 1min to get an energy bar on my full susser with plus tyres. How do you reckon I can shave some off that?
You can’t.
Hardtail 29er 2:08 at 56 years old, full sus 2:33... So you should beat 2hours on a hardtail
Since managed 2:20 on the plus tyres, dry lap, reckon I'll need to take something to beat it though at 44
@@jammanjim6914 Dry is not necessarily optimum, some of my best sector times were in damp winter / spring conditions (depending on the section, full sus plus or 29er 2.2 hard tail). The loose sandy sections can sap away your time. Pick a cool day with low wind.
@@grahamalderson5048 what 29er hardtail did you run?
Taking my new cannondale fsi there this weekend, can't wait
Took me 2:08:00 on an ebike!
Cameron Webster Legend has it that Guy Martin has done it in 1:51
Can you hire bikes there ?
Yes
You are fit as heck
At least you didn't meet someone in the middle of the path at that steep after the forest (vague i know)
How did u find it in the snow, difficult? Nice vid thou will subscribe
dalby red route is my favourite place.......did you ever go back and do sub 2hours?
ITS NOT THE FULL RED WHEN YOU MISS SECTIONS OUT AND RIDE ON THE ROAD.....
THE SMALL 5 MINUTE SECTION THAT WAS CLOSED DUE TO MAINTENANCE IS LIKE NOT EVEN WORTH DOING AND DOESN'T ADD ANY TIME HAHA ?? ....
Massive respect for the effort. Its good to find other nutters out in the forest!!
i was surprised to see some other nutters in forest that day too haha, cheers
can you do a video like this but of the blue route please
maybe at some point, i'm pretty sure some others have done it already though
Nice video. Not over layed with some mind bending music
ikr who likes music
Some of that looks suspiciously uphill! No thank you. Not on my watch :)
yes haha but that's actually what makes it challenging for me, i like a good challenge
That aint no red route to me!! #Feelingconfused.com
show me your attempt c:
It's Dalby not Whistler. Not as steep or crazy as Hamsterley but I'd say more of a red for fitness and a fun challenge none the less.
Lmaoooo at the start lil loop
hoped nobody would notice c:
59:10 - I think those were my exact words too the first time I got to there!
How is that a red route???
Oliver Summers guess u haven't ridden it before
JEvans he’s got a point. Compared to other reds in say Wales, Dalby is mostly pretty tame. There are some techs gnarly sections, but it’s mostly a flow trail. It is long and knackering though and op’s time is impressive!
@@Big2009Gee No videos of you doing it in 1:30 on any bike. I suggest you prove it or stay silent matey.
@@Big2009Gee Prove it or stop bullshitting then son.
Great vid I did in 2 hour and 50 mins i suppose I am only 13 (i did yesterday)
eyy gratz on the time and ur young age XD thanks :D
Why do people like to walk up cycle trails?
who knows xD
Their idiots
@@shanefitzsimons8304 they're*
Great video. Should have chucked on some music etc the idea of another 2hrs of your panting and the the wind noisr has forced me to skip most parts to find the good sections. Other than than great stuff
i personally don't like music over these videos but i appreciate some people do, and thank you c:
Im going to be doing this trail in the summer so im gonna be watching this to get ab idea of the trail route
how'd it go?
i have DESCENDED. Funnily enough. I still havent done it. We're heading out that way in mid july. Ill post the vid on my channel
welp summer wont last forever :c! I look forward to your vid when you get round to it
XCLFH nice
How is this a red route
have you done it?
Gradients can look deceptive on camera.
The red rating comes from the length rather than the technical features of the trail. It's about 25miles long. I'm reasonably fit, did it in the rain and was absolutely knackered at the end.
It’s not, I did it the other day and would say it’s mainly blue unless you go on the ‘black’ then it’s red. I’d say they marked it red due to the length and the uphill on it
The climbs look deceptive. At 25 miles long it is knackering. I’m 53 and did it Sunday. I really enjoyed it
What time did you leave the car park to start the trail
about 21.5 seconds
Nice riding. What bike did you use?
Thanks, Trek Top Fuel 9.8 SL. Very fast bike :D
Nice video of the full trail (without being sped up like most)! I've only done parts of it, so it's nice to see the bits I haven't encountered yet so I know what to expect when I come to ride the whole thing
ty hope you did the whole thing!
