We run these stock engines on Lauren’s speed way sc dirt track stock with a tune ecu they run 6800 rpm around the track no problem and I had a straight drive so it stay high rpm. But this is sick I been wanting build one for the drag strip now. And need a ecu done hit up TGB tuning they know all about ecotec
Was it running to the catalytic converter or no?
My 06 honda civic broke down for whatever reason at 295k. My neighbor has one of these, ended up selling it to me for 600. He said he thinks there’s 200k plus miles but theres only 165k lol. Ended up tow strapping my civic back home with it about 60 miles up and down hills. Handled it good. I kinda like the car. Might paint it black idk. Its red but all the clear coat is gone. Its auto but whateva.

You can get some cams for these 2.2L's and theyll let ya rev your motor out too 8K rpm, should make for alot of fun

@@Hockey16471 plans have been put on hold since my transmission blew lol, got all that work done but too close to winter, so next summer I can start hopefully, I would do it over the winter but no garage space left for the cav:(

Yeah you can dirt track race then as well 😂 sc Lauren’s speed way look up some vids of fwd holy shit talk about the most fun you can have with a stock engine just gotta put a good cage in and cut some of the front of car off tube it back so be easy work on few slight things we allowed do stock suspension. And that’s it go racing
@@SISNEROS28ck out TGB tuning for ecu they can make your car come alive for only tuning the ecu. Trust me they worth every penny we use dirt track race and before they figure out who we had do tuning my buddy was winning by a half track every weekend for a entire season think was 2018 2019 number 94 fwd I was 93 but look up Lauren’s speed way sc Darlington of dirt you be like holy shit 😂

Did you have that stock ECU tuned or running with no tune?
Yoo give me some specs of what you had in your cavalier i want to turbo my malibu with the same engine or give me some tips on what to add on it i dont want nothing crazy just that flutter sound🫣

How did you tune it with hp tuners? I have an 06 Cobalt but they are saying it’s “untunable”. Nice build. Thanks bro.
If you have a 450L fuel pump you really need to be looking at the fuel system filter regulator setup or something I've had mine up to 14lbs of boost and not even using 60% dutycycle on decaped injectors. Actually pulled my deca 80s out because they kept developing oring leaks. I just got to ask what kind of timing your running if you were getting knock that definitely kill the motor quick
I cant remember the micron on the filter its aftermarket works with ethanol and 8 an to boost regulated fuel pressure regulator I have deka 80s now they are great im at 10 psi with 35% injector 20° advance at idle then 12° the rest of the map
I had mine at 12/13° over the winter but summer came around and with the higher air Temps had to pull it down just for safety on 93 its been my daily driver for the last year but recently bought a new truck so it's about to get meth and I'm going to push it far as it can go and if it blows up will just give me a reason to build a hi pro 4.8 lol

@@brett2297 Aw man, I have a 2.2 manual 2d cavalier and I love the thing It's so much fun. I ordered lowering springs for it but their coming in like 4 months lol. Look up how to make custom thumbnails for youtube. There's some great tutorials, I would love to see what you're doing with that truck

Yes, same family of engine.. depends on the year how similar or exact they are.
Cool what turbo do you have?
You can take the oil filler neck off the the cap will thread into the valve cover so you dont have to worry about it getting too hot

Where did you get the fuel rail fittings to adapt from the stock regulator?
I don't remember I think it was and oil feed for a turbo I cut up u can get what ever size -an fitting welded in thats what I'm gonna do next I re did the set up in my car have to make a new vid soon
@@brett2297 good deal. I do have an adapter but I figured out the stock regulator is already a rising rate so imma tune on that. Got 42lb injectors and a bigger pump. So should be fine. Im running the hahn kit with the super 20g.
@@cavikid5339 yea I ripped the stock on out I think I broke it off and drilled the rest of the stuff out I got lucky and found that fitting in my junk drawer hopefully I'll have my car tuned soon so I can make more vids and give out the gap

I love it! I have an 03 saturn ion that I'm building using the saab 9-3 turbo and the 87 Merkur xr4-ti setup. Non intercooled. I plan to just run off of waste gate pressure. I'm going to use the same fuel pressure regulator you're using as well. What is your fuel pressure set at and what would be a good psi for the stock injectors?
I think its 46 with vacuum and with out vacuum it sound be 51 I think I would have to check my car lol
