Helping GolfByJaedz Think Like A Pro On The Course

I made the trip over the hill to Hamilton to catch up with @golfbyjaedz. Jaedz is new to golf so I used my experience as a coach to help him with some ideas on course. We had a great time and the first of many, I think. It was my first time playing St Andrews and I loved it. Thanks to Jaedz - golfbyjaedz Matt from Forever Moore Productions - forever_moore_production...

My favourite golf course. I am an 18 handicapper and have played this course few times. Not as pretty as Wairakei or as revered as Kidnappers but it is pure golf. Play it and enjoy it, We are blessed in NZ with courses like this.
?
Good podcast. Voke hit a good point. I only watched that event to see the boys play
Thank you. It was a great initiative by the Asian Tour. It created some interest for me as well - it was the first golf I’d watched outside of the majors this year.
Course has changed a lot, you boys should head back for another round.
That would be great! What’s your favourite change they’ve made?
Tin cup type of mentality
This is an amazing insight
It was such a cool conversation. Awesome to hear from someone right in the heart of the space that’s growing in golf right now.
Yo, I was the one that came up to talk to you on hole 8! Great video man
Yo! Thanks for coming over. Great timing to see Jaedz make that birdie. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it. Hope to see you out there again 🫡
Thanks for this. I've been wanting to get a realistic look at this course for ages and you guys have delivered it! Only issue is the backing music. You need to knock it back by about 50%. Other than that, well done!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Kinloch is an incredible place! I’ll keep that in mind for the back 9 video
What??? No sheep?
They get enough attention. We don’t need them hogging more of the limelight
Is this Adam Scott’s body double?
Have you heard the terrible version of the Titanic theme on recorder? That’s kind of like me compared to Adam Scott
Figures are 113mph club speed 263yrds total with 2100 spin 148 smash I would expect closer to 300yrds surely 🤔
Sorry mate, the text is small. We use meters here in NZ. It’s about 290y. It was also about 10 degrees Celsius (50 Fahrenheit) so wasn’t travelling as far as the ego wanted to see.
@@ForeRightNZ no problem thanks for clarifying that thought figures looked weird metres would make more sense lol
Thinking if buying this driver???🤔🤔🤔
It’s a great option! I’d be interested to hear how it compares to others you try
cringe
@@JF-kb5cy perfect, exactly what I was going for. Thanks
Yep, had a TSR 3 and switched to the GT2. much better shape and feel. Both GT3 and 2 are very similar in feel and performance. Went with the 2 as similar performance but a tad more forgiveness
@@jamestomkins3516 very nice! I was surprised how similar the 2 and 3 felt after the TSR series. Both incredible options. I’m exited for you. All the best.
So the GT2 is slightly more forgiving and the GT3 a bit more longer? I prefer a bit of forgiveness myself.
@@michaelrandold4656 GT2 is slightly more forgiving. It’s not necessarily longer or shorter. The CG is slightly further back, lending itself to launch a little higher with a little more spin. For my characteristics that went a little shorter than the GT3.
nice video~! can you share what's the brand and type of your shoes? looking nice~!
@@anthonyshu416 thank you. The shoes are FootJoy Icons.
thats a silky swing. how far do you carry your 7?
Thanks, Jake. Baseline is 155m (170y). These were probably going about 150m. It's winter here in NZ and about 10°C (50°F)
I just lost 5 minutes
Haha I see why you did there. I've just been over to your channel and spent some time there - nice stuff. Does that get us back to even?
Have you tried the GT driver yet? Which was your favourite?
That second green is no joke!
It has brought many a round to an early end!
Good man patching holes , even in a speed run
Got to keep those green keepers on our side!
⛳🏃🏌🔥
Nice work gentlemen!
Thanks mate
My home course
Underrated course. I enjoy it out there.

Nice. Missed opportunity to not post this on Star Wars day though
I did go with 44 inches but recently decided to go down one more inch to 43 and its now even better !The dispersion is tremendously better and I hit them longer as well. I also added no lead tape or weight in general to compensate for swing weight concerns. I still think swing weight at least for myself doesn't matter much as it works just fine for me. Spider Dubiel
i wonder what the difference in distance is from A driver on a 3wood shaft and a standard 3wood head.
44 inch drivers are the way to go. :)
I have found with my own research on a multiple launch monitors, (I also hold a Stats degree), that 44" seems to be the maximizing best length of driver shaft in almost all circumstances for an averaged size male - when you set up a function that combines distance and variance together. There are many ways to build this type of spreadsheet but here are the basics. 1) You need to set up 3 ranges to 'adjust' your driver distance - you can choose whatever is best for the courses you play on but I defaulted to +/- 10 yards offline = +8 yards to actual distance, (-20 to -10 left , +10 to+20 right) = -5 yards to actual distance, (more than 20 yards off line = -15 yards to actual distance). Now you just have to repeat this test a few times over a few different days after a decent warm up then hit 12 to 20 drives and calculate your adjusted driving distance. I found there is definitely a benefit to using a longer driver than the 42.3 - 43" 3-wood length but the benefit drops very very quickly if you adjust your offline drives using the above type metric - with 44" being the best length. The other key variable in my experimentation is shot shape. I found that without question, I could easily handle a longer driver 'statistically', if I only hit fades. When I looked at the data you provided, I think I can see that pattern as well - i.e. with the 42.5" shaft, you are more able to consistently hit the trap draw - but with the longer shaft, your block a few to the right and your trap draw will also turn into a hook - this is the killer combination. With this in mind, and given your length, I would suggest either giving the 44" driver a try or experimenting with 'only' hitting a power fade with a 45-45.5" driver and then using a 43" 3-wood 12-13 Degrees as your drawing driving club.
Metres???? Where did yards go? Arent metres more than yards?
I metre is about 90% yard. SO to convert the 270m total distance to yards add about 10% to estimate yardage= 297 yards.
Go to the Fujikura driver shaft model of whatever it is you were using as the fairway shaft, and go one flex stiffer. Should help the dispersion, and if you have more speed in the tank, you should be able to swing faster.
Hi how can I contact you.I want to shorten my M1 shaft. I live in Rotorua
