@@elliewitchlady I'm not really into pumpkin carving myself, my Sister, but that's based on my total lack of creativity and lack of ability in carrying out anything artistic, even though I'm a photographer. I must admit, I feel a little guilty as my next door neighbour has a pumpkin on their doorstep, and when the ambulance dropped me off from a hospital appointment yesterday I noticed that they've got Halloween decorations in their window too. (I'm willing to bet that they don't know that they're living next door to a Witch, and I've no wish to 'upset' them if they're not 'open' to others' beliefs.) When I was at the hospital on Friday just gone (20th October) my consultant asked me about the 'big' day that's coming up for me. We've spoken in the past about my Belief System, but I wouldn't expect him to know the names of the Sabbats, especially as he's Christian. One of the nurses also asked me about something I'd mentioned in the past. I'd wished her a Happy Diwali (we pronounce it Divali over here, generally) as I know that she's Sikh and Diwali is one of their festivals ... 'The Festival of Lights'. She said that she remembers me telling her that I make contact with those that have 'passed over' at this time of year. It doesn't help much in that I'd spoken to her on one occasion about someone that had walked past us whilst we were talking, and she said that she THOUGHT that she'd seen someone, but discounted it as when she had a proper look there was no-one there. I tried to reassure her that there was nothing to be frightened of as they were simply 'passing through'. Sadly, WitchVox closed down activities on the website several years ago. I'm going to try again to offer you the facebook link. It's facebook<dot>com/thewitchesvoiceinc just in case you want to take a look. Personally, I don't 'do' facebook very often. I made a big mistake several years ago in offering my personal email address to users on a few different dementia-related websites where I was an 'adviser' as I have a specialist knowledge in this area. 😉 I'd be receiving hundreds of emails a day as my email address was 'shared out'. Unfortunately, I couldn't help many of the people that were contacting me as they wanted to know about the legalities of applying for Guardianship, Power of Attorney, etc. and my training only goes as far as UK Laws. I got the impression that SOME people thought I was simply 'avoiding the truth' when I advised that I couldn't help them as they were from the United States, India, Australia, Continental Europe, Iceland, Latin America, etc. (Even though some of the names of the laws are either the same, or very similar, the Laws of different countries stipulate different methods of gaining the same. I'd have hated to have been the one that 'guided' someone in the 'wrong direction'.) The sharing of my personal email address MUST have been 'picked up' and shared elsewhere as before long, people were accusing me of being racist as I wouldn't go out and purchase them specific models of mobile phones ... some of the older type phones were easy to 'doctor' so that they'd be able to get 'free' phone calls and such. (I'm not perfect, by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm less inclined to help others to 'break the law', knowing full well that they could get into serious trouble if I were to aid/abet them in carrying out illegal activities. Of course, the Laws in their own country/ies MAY very well be much different to what they are in the UK, but I wouldn't feel comfortable in doing it. Hence the reason that this one guy started slating me for being racist. i.e. I was only refusing to help him because he was black, which was absolute nonsense, and had no basis in reality.) I'll wish you a Blessed Samhain now, my Sister, but all being well, I'll do the same again closer to Tuesday of next week. ♥♥♥♥♥♥🌟
