Asleep at the Wheel, Served Live. Am I High?
Played in a band back in the 80s and was fortunate enough to get to sing this version. You brought back some good memories. One of our favs to do.
My favorite album of AATW. Wish AATW would release it to iTunes so I could have it again.
Too funny after all these years !!!
Great version. Thank you.
Yes.
Had this album on 8 track back in the day and wore it out. Great stuff.
Thanks to Count Basie for writing this scorcher of a song. This AATW cover is probably my favorite alternate version.
They are killing me, but at least I’m 67 so I’m slowing down a bit and have had a lot of fun , but Getting older sucks
I love the insertion of the adjective, "cotton-picking" here. For some reason it's really funny.
El Diablo reminds me of the Texas Jack (outlaw) character Storch had played the year before in the movie, "The Great Race". Short, overcompensating, chip-on-shoulder violent, but really unlucky ("NOW can I have me some fightin' room?!")
And they practically had the same costume on. "Pardon me, Mister Pardner, but who is this Texas Jack?"

...then turn left at big bear, look like r-r-rock! Always loved that line.
Mre too !
My fave AATW album!
Is this actually sung in four-part harmony? And if so, which voice is Harpo’s?
From what I've read no one will admit if the 4th part was Harpo's voice. I like to believe it is.
@@billstelzer7755Of course it’s Harpo’s voice. It’s not funny, and the gag makes no sense if it’s somebody else’s voice.
@@RockingJamboreeminutes later you can hear the same weirdly deep voice saying "come on men". I like to believe it's Harpo's voice, but it could also be one of the people searching.
I've been looking for this version for years. Thank you.
Still Gold after all these decades! 🌷🌿🌍💜🕊
Your mom says thank you for posting this
Always wonderful to see Larry Storch going crazy. We miss you so much, Larry. RIP.
I bought the Album when it was new, and when I was a dj in the early’80’s I used to spin a few off it late night shift! I wrote on it “property of mark Wolfe “ cause I didn’t want anyone walking off with it! - I still have it
Yep! We have to take time to find the Right Cousin to do business with! The Right Cousin , not any cousin! ... 🕯🌎
Larry Storch was my favorite actor on this show .
Wonderful !
This never gets old.
RIP Larry Storch, 99
Saw these guys motor through an evening in the early 70s & was hooked like trailer to a truck. Twin Texas fiddles à la Bob Wills, and a rockin' group of seriously talented musicians. Nothin' finer!
Asleep At The Wheel is a great band to see live. They used to play often at NYC's Lone Star Cafe, where I got to see them a couple of times in the 80's.
Your mom says she's happy she's found it. Thank you for the download. You've made your mom proud.
They kill this...great party album, Texas blues!
Larry Storch played a great Diablo too!
I have followed these guys since the mid 70's. Loved them then and still do.
Hilarious 😄
Larry storch, still alive as of 12.22.21
Larry Storch, dead as of 7.8.22
I worked on this series and Damn it, I can still recall all the lyrics and I found myself doin’ it like the poor folk do… and dancing along with this video. This honestly was a great show to work on. I wish all projects were this fun.
Larry Storch as.......El Diablo.....and Corporal Agarn! 😅
Cpl. Agarn is stupid; that's my cousin; smartest soldier at the fort ! Great writers & actors on this series !
I Love This Show.
Funny funny humor
You need to take care of your subscribers! Ding dong 🌭
Classic TV
"Stop with the shooting"!!! Alec Baldwin is on the stage...
best group of misfits, playing misfits, ever!
Amen
We're the Heckowies.
Chief..."we walk many moons, we stop...we lost...we look around...we say Wheretheheckarewe...we liked it so we kept it."
classic show. imagine riding horses on a sound stage!
Love this. 😊
one of my favorite albums ever!!
Today.. the democrates would bitch about non-mexicans playing mexicans.. and Indians, then demand the cancellation of the series. I love the past, where funny.. was funny!
Bro what? 😂😂 go get help. Btw this acting is horrible and I didn’t laugh once.
@@somedude2677 Do you expect a Shakespeare comedy with a title like F Troop? Spoken like a true blue nosed snob liberal WASP. White Anglo Saxon Protestant. And I speak as a foreign born naturalized American citizen who was born in Havana,Cuba in 1956. Consider my self as American as Larry Storch who was born in Paterson, N.J.
This show was so full of win.....
Every time I hear this one it gives me chills. Thank you Ray and AATW, and Mr James Robert Wills. What I've wanted for a long time is to see; "Miles and Miles of Texas, and to stay there till I die." Best Wishes Texas (Thanks for positing this Bill) : D
I just saw Frank DeKova in an episode of "Gunsmoke" from Season 2. Not surprisingly, he played an Indian.
. . . gasp
My husband and I have been watching a lot of old westerns lately. Surprised at how many times he played indians on them.
@@tammiecason7933 He also plays a malevolent Indian in the excellent noir Western, "Day of the Outlaw," which also features Tina Louise (as a sexbomb) and Burl Ives (as a very bad guy).
Frank was an early candidate to play the Godfather in the movie of the same name before Brando was picked
he also was in Burger King's Vanishing American Hamburger commercial, again playing an Indios disgusted at how small the meat patties in most hamburgers have become.
Thanks for posting this! Very hard to find, and a great performance!
