    What a load. They take condensers that still have refrigerant in them and vent into air unless it’s R22, 12, other older refrigerant that can be reclaimed for decent money. Strip out the coils(hopefully copper) and sell the whole mess. Smarter ones watch commodity prices and sell when copper and tin prices are up. Broke ones just take that days price and go on being poor boys

      You should report them because venting ANY FREONS will result in a fine of 37 thousand dollars or more per AC. It's outright Illegal in every state

      A pump down takes about 5-10 mins to pump all the refrigerant into the condenser. Recovering the refrigerant takes 30-45 mins, depending on how many pounds are in the unit

      @@jonahlawrence1929 Vacuum your recovery tank to 500microns, put it in a bucket of ice and it will likely pull most of if not all into the tank.

      @@user-cz8do7xl8uThat still takes longer than pumping a system down for removal. Unless the compressor is dead, that will move gas to be isolated far faster than recovering.

    idk about clearing a drain line like that bro, should take the panel off and start at the primary evap drain pan, i find so many clogs are inside right at the hole. gotta clear the whole pan out too or else itll get blocked up again fast.

    • @staycoolclimatecontrol
      @staycoolclimatecontrol 4 місяці тому

      @@fatkiefbowls we find a ton of clogs at the fitting and within the hose. I understand completely but these are tips for homeowners mainly and we don’t really recommend they take any panels apart or go further in depth. That is very good stuff though!

    It’s a soft start kit. It brings the compressor up the speed slowly. It doesn’t pull all of the amperage right at the start. It’s a good idea.

    • @ChrisHVACguy
      @ChrisHVACguy 4 місяці тому

      Soft starts are other types of devices, these are hard starts

    • @AaronPowellvox
      @AaronPowellvox 4 місяці тому

      No, this is a hard start, it holds a charge and releases it when the compressor starts.

    I have a split system. Using 3.5-ton Heat Pump by Good Man. Has the scroll type compressor. Unit has been running just fine, going on seventeen years. Lately since hot weather has set in. Get some inside fast light blink when unit comes on. Cooling good and unit sounds O.K. while running. Weather in S.C. is very hot right now. Would a hard start kit like above be a good idea to put on this unit?

      I would check and make sure your capacitor is good first. Sometimes you will get dimming lights when they are about to fail. Just don't get zapped on it.

    • @staycoolclimatecontrol
      @staycoolclimatecontrol 4 місяці тому

      I agree with the first comment. Make sure the capacitor is not weak and if it is not weak then it may not be a bad idea to add one.
