Right after finishing up the Rotating assembly & cam, I went on to top off the bottom end I ended having to order more windage tray bolts from eBay, but everything worked out fine

I made sure I did the other pistons first so I could have my technique down for this last one. Also, I bought a piston ring installer tool but that ish didn't work for me I just used my hands. Buy it anyway because you will need it to take rings off.

Okay seriously I went around looking at videos of people using a flat head to install the clips and after doing mine I can honestly say don't use a flat head screwdriver to install these clips or similar one just use your fingers fight through the fatigue and you'll be fine
I ordered King main bearing from amazon and they showed up in terrible condition

I ordered another set, and it showed up fine I used two different set of the bearings to install all the non-damaged ones. Next time I'll just buy the King HP bearing instead. I still saved money buying two sets vs buying the other options out there, but amazon came through in the end!! These are the King MB5293si bearings The Hp version is king mb5013hp or something like that

I looked in my book and the blueprint specs for crank endplay on an LS engine should be between .004 to .008.(four to eight thousandths of an inch) Most guys like to be at the bottom of that spec during assembly because as soon as the engine starts there will be some "break in" wear that happens on the thrust bearing surface area of the main bearing anyway. If you have .002 or .003 during assembly you can count on .004 to .006 after the initial run in. You should be in great shape! I think it's better to build at the lower end of the spec too. That way you don't have to worry about it wearing out of spec during the break in period. Imagine if you started out with .008 on the endplay during assembly. As soon as it starts for the initial run and break in, it would go outside of the .008 clearance almost immediately. You're doing great! Keep up the good work!
Oh really?? That's perfect. Out of all my research I didn't find any information about the initial break in. Let's go!!
Smart move to install the cam and timing components prior to the pistons and rods going in. That way you'll be able to check the clearance between the rod bolts and the cam lobes!
I saw a video of someone doing the cam first a long time ago so I kept that in mind in case I ever built one myself lol

Sheesh, I wish haha. It's actually hypereutectic but yeah it tripped me out. In the future, I'm not using a flat head again that's for sure lol
why not use the piston upside down to push em in?
I tried using the piston, but I could not get it to square up consistently the was a bit too much side-to-side play and for my first time I didn't want to continue with it. I had 3 other methods to use, so I didn't stress it. I designed a 3d printed squaring tool for my bore size, I had a roll of painter's tape that fit perfectly, and I bought the tool you see in the video from amazon.
You won’t hurt anything. Ruin coating ? Who said that? lol Maybe you could bend the ring but I don’t see that happening unless you’re a brute. Is doesn’t matter such way you go. I use a dremel and a grinding attachment. I can do just as perfect a job without a ring file tool. My engines have nothing in the catch cans. Cleaning the cylinder walls with trans fluid until you get zero grit will do way more for you than worrying about this. Leaving too much grit even after jet wash will screw up your sealing far worse.

The second ring is not going to be a big issue as long as you've got the gap you need you're good to go. (it doesn't have to be pretty or perfect on the 2nd ring) Your ring gap grinding tool is designed to work by grinding from the outside of the ring (sealing surface) towards the inside of the ring (the part that sits back in the ring land of the piston). You had the direction of rotation correct when you ground this last ring. There is a small issue you need to correct before grinding the top ring gaps though. Instead of grinding one side of the ring at a time, you're supposed to hold pressure on the ring against the two pins and close the ring gap so both sides touch the grinding wheel. I know, this seems like a job for three hands, but you can do it. By holding pressure on the ring against those pins and closing that ring gap to just touch the grinding wheel, you will insure the ring gap will be ground square. (Both sides of the ring will be perfectly flat and true) If you grind one side, then the other, the ring gap will not be square "II", it may look like this "//" or "\l". Again, don't worry about the second rings, they'll be fine, just concentrate on getting the top ring gaps perfect and square. The top ring is where performance is gained or lost. It's a pain and it's frustrating but you can do this. Practice makes perfect.

At the time when I was doing this I was losing my mind because I couldn't get a definite answer to whether my technique was sufficient but I knocked them all out and just went for it. My biggest thing was making sure all the sharp edges were knocked down on the ring lands and there were no tapers in any of the rings. So I'd say it's a success lol

Scatpack owners getting tossed by Tuned Honda Accords. You really can’t beat PWR. Scatpacks weigh over 4K. Mean while a C6 weighs less than my Camry. (3500 pounds)
Scatpacks just shouldn't be raced in my opinion
The ScatPack should win no problem only if Vette was modified could it win .if downshifting the Scat properly it should do better much better ive beat c7s in 1/8 easily

@@nick__cars I never said it was 100hp more but it's the faster car,LS3 manuals are known to run low 12.s which was about equal to a c5z06 the ls2 are more 12.6- 12.8s in the quarter mile.
Depends on the driver since the 8speed autos are faster you must shift ur ls2 with the paddles or manual but always be a gear ahead for instance start from 2nd from a stand still in a roll race find ur vette sweet spot but I'm also cammed out and have headers with a borla exhaust on my ls2 convertible and I'm killing everything that comes my way
I have a hci ls2 stock clutch and trans. I ran a scat pack charger and it kept up with me, I guess I need better driving skills 🤣

@@rydermob2808 I had traction control turned on. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it. Car dynoed at 489whp. Did a 30 roll from 2nd gear, was shifting at 5500-6000.
@@junior09medina yes never race with traction it slows u down and when u disable it u will feel how liter the take off is compared to traction which makes it stiff

Lol damnn good shit & yeah Its a ScatPack. 2007 vettes have the Ls2 motor and Mine is an Ls3 (more power, more torque) so that could be the reason why he couldn't keep up.🤷🏾♂️

The car had an Exhaust but im not sure if it had anything else like a tune of some sort🤷🏾♂️. It didnt pop or shoot flames much so I assumed it had some kind of fuel mapping done for the exhaust
