Someone coming from Iran I would be happy in any Western Country, a lot of middle east countries are trying to rush to the west and then complain about it. All countries are doing it hard now due to inflation caused by keeping the economy going during COVID. Brexit was code for stopping immigration, the UK did not need to do brexit just restrict their immigration and keep it to people the country needs. You choose where you want to go? Well countries also have to agree with you to accept you.

I find it really stupid when people get "patriotically angry" when you criticise their country or society. There's nothing whatsoever patriotic about it; quite the opposite---if you love your country, you should want to make it better (and I hope nobody is so totally mad to think that their country is perfect). But how can you improve something without critically assessing it first?

How dare you leave the UK before me lol. All good points but the envy you mention runs all through the government as well which you can see in its policies regarding taxes.

UK has historically been an island with minimal resources. Thats where the tall poppy syndrome/crab mentality comes from. Doing well meant/means taking from someone else.

What I have a problem with is paying the £1000 application fee upfront to the endorsing body without any assurance that the application will be taken seriously and without any apparent accountability to the endorsing bodies. In fact, the government instructions to the endorsing bodies say to not even respond to an application that they judge to not meet subjective criteria and to not give any feedback as to why it was rejected. I could see how endorsing bodies might not bother to really look at applications, but collect the £1000 anyway. So this potentially means a windfall for the endorsing bodies for essentially doing nothing? Definitely not a proportionate fee-- and it goes beyond just because it is high. It's because of the lack of accountability and lack of feedback. The fee should either be much lower for the initial application or the endorsing bodies should give extensive feedback/explanation for a rejection. Your take on this would be much appreciated.

63% Applications are rejected straightaway due to lack of innovation. Most people think having an app is Innovation which is completely wrong way to look at it.

Whichever you choose dont choose Envestors. I applied on Jan 23, and even till today the application is still pending. The slowest organisation i have ever seen.

That's painful mate, I am sorry for what you have go through but yeah the times are changing, inshallah you are on the right track. Being an entrepreneur it is a rough road ahead and people should indeed be aware that Innovator founder visa is just not an entry clearance they will have, you have to be 100% sure you are building this business is the only option for you otherwise trust me the process has gone 10x tougher.

Same opinions, first time with startup route rejected by the Home Office because endorsement did a mistake and even pre-action protocol has not helped. Now rejected by endorsement body second time - and the reasons are based on opinions based on nothing. Trying to find better suited endorsement body - maybe you can something advice them by paid brief consultation? :)

The immigration system is a con. They say highly skilled are needed but the beauracracy involved is so mad that employers don't even think about going down that path. Again its the authorities who have made the system that way.

Canada is extremely expensive, especially when it comes to renting, e.g. in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. All of these cities are places where I have lived in before. State of Canada is rather really unfortunate as there are too many migrants now. However, you are right when it comes to social life in the UK. Absolutely spot-on with how I feel coming here as a highly skilled worker from the East.

Hi Sohrab! You just articulating my pain and putting there in the world is liberating. I feel nice. Thank you! I am applying for the Innovator Founder this Oct. I agree with most of your points. Startup Visa did make logical sense as opposed to this new route where I am having to show market validation but then again I can't sell anything by law. Where I disagree with you is the cost. Oh man, the previous visa wasn't better! With unis and accelerators infesting the domain and charging £13000 to "join" their programme only after which they gave the endorsement letter. In a perfect world I would want to risk my limited resources quickly to test my idea quickly. And I think this new visa is the quickest way possible at least comparably. Your other point about VISA fees and health surcharge. Ya this one was total bullcrap. Come on. Overall, many thanks. I have your contact. I will reach out to you soon for collaborations.
