A little but most of that is user error. There are a lot, a LOT of better players than I am having great success with this build!

Yep. Figured that out after the first game. Ill definitely keep that in mind for future runs. I think it will be easier too when Malicious Towers can spawn in the store naturally instead of having to rely on the Jester Tower for them.

Just rewatched. I didnt for some reason lol. Dont remember my thought process during this at this point to be honest. I think the healing is something Im more cognizant of in the more recent runs though.

also.. this is nothing at all like spellrogue.

@@thomasneal9291 Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it. Ill give a dry run a shot a couple times to see how it feels. I felt like it was similar to spellrogue in that you had abilities that required parts of your 'deck" to be certain values and/or in specific orders. If others don't feel that way, I get that too as I can see it could be a bit of a reach for some. Again, thanks for the constructive feedback. Always helpful!

I can definitely give it a shot! This generally isn't a genre of roguelikes I dive into so you would see things evolve from a pretty new player overall! Ill see if I can give a couple more runs a shot on this demo and then stuff as the demo expands and the full game comes out (next year unfortunately)

@Kuthillick I think that's a refreshing take to be honest and I think watching someone learn and work things through can be interesting from a let's play viewer's perspective. Just my two cents!

im not sure if there are going to be themes in each set, but definitely looks like there will be with the necromancer tower teaser and stuff like that. I would like a way to freeze or manipulate the waves of each incoming enemy. Some rounds have multiple waves of enemies which can drastically impact how you build. For instance: One wave of enemy would really benefit a TNT tower since it would hit all the enemies that round. Having towers that freeze an enemy (either a chance or a once per enemy guarantee would be cool), basically allowing your tower to get off one free attack while the enemy is frozen. Towers that heal or revive between waves in a round would be cool as well. That MIGHT be part of the necromancers tower if I were to guess. Ranged towers that fire simultaneously with your more foward towers would be cool as well. kind of like Dragon Tower does when enemies first spawn in, but this goes with whenever your other towers do damage.

I keep forgetting I can use Mirror to mirror a token lol. And ya, in general the starting units are pretty decent and can go awhile. The Beloid's are meh because you only trigger them once a battle unless you do some self KO/Revive stuff. But they all have their uses.

I like this idea! Didn't think of Butler + Mosquito. Whats the purpose of the Forge Tower in this build? Could you replace it with a witch tower to pingpong Frogs into Knights and back for more boosts?

Depending on when you were talking about, it was either because I had some confusion on me and didn't want to take the damage, or I was a dumbass. One of the two :D

@@Kuthillick the timestamp is on the moment where you did not buy "normal attack" dies and left the shop. But i get it, it just happens for no reason sometimes.

Sounds great! I have played trickster like twice and will definitely be playing more when I have the chance. It is a great game but the warning that it is tough is NOT without merit. Are you available to be contacted through discord or anything? I have a couple follow-up questions

@Kuthillick nice! Yeah it's only got one difficulty level so success is more about making it farther than winning outright.

@@Kuthillick but patches does not make sense if there is no endgame. we need some leaderboards and infinite mode and other stuff. kinda sad cos i love the gameplay more than in any other game of this genre

He was a lot of fun to use actually. I feel like I could have used him better in a lot of situations but found out about some interactions with him and items that will be useful later on.

Yep. I think I underestimated those, especially with the burn tokens. I always liked the bleed tokens but overlooked the others. My bad

I totally think it's doable, depending on what you get, the dice faces you get offered at shops, and a couple other things. I think leech would go a long ways for this type of thing though which would require you to attack at least once. But I could definitely see a self harm comp work, especially with thorns thrown in

From what I seem to understand, it can only trigger on each monsterss strength gain once per turn, even if that monsters has multiple instances of strength gain. So if Bianfuri attacks once off another monsters strength gain, and then gains 2 attack from the item, it will attack again and gain another 2 strength. It will NOT attack again because it already attacked that turn from its own strength gain
