Welcome everyone to my corner of the internet.
I mess around with all sorts of electronic sounds, in many diffent forms - my inspirations vary from dreamy ambient drones, through classic boom bap, house grooves, and interesting drum & bass music. No strict rules, just vibes. Possibly with some infusion of synthwave nostalgia here and there.
The ZX Audiocraft project aims to put all of my sound endeavours in one place
If you're into gear, synth noodling, and happy accidents in music-making, you might enjoy sticking around.
I experiment with different things here, such as sound design reels, some tutorials, playing around with eurorack modular or jamming on old synths.

Lofi Boom Bap type beat // Mutable Clouds as a real-time 12bit converter
Did you know you can use the Mutable Instruments Clouds module as a real-time 12-bit converter to achieve that gritty lofi boom bap sound? You don't need the S900, and it's in stereo :) This is possible thanks to the Beat Slicer mode on the alternative Kammerl firmware for Mutable Instruments Clouds, which allows real-time bit reduction to add that nostalgic crunch reminiscent of classic samplers.
In this video, I demonstrate how to set up Clouds for this effect. On top of that, the Beat Slicing option itself also provides some interesting sound design options that might be explored in future videos, so stay tuned for more.

Here's a short video playing around with DIY Mutable Instruments Element's resonator in chord mode (alternative firmware). I'm feeding it an external input - slowed down and stretched field recording of some sort of noise and having some fun with the knobs. This is brilliant! Can you describe the clocking/modulation a bit more?
Hi Kevin! Thanks for your comment! Most of the modulation is coming from the LowerRenz functions on micro ornament and crime (Hemispheres firmware). It's sort of a flowing random. These go into gene size, morph and slide in the morphagene. I also move 'slide' by hand every now and then to change the chord. The morphagene is also set so the right input gives you the phase modulation - I think it gets a slow modulation either from Peaks or Doepfer LFO (to the left out of the screen). Frames is in Euclidean Sequencer mode (Parasite firmware) - I think this was clocked by square wave from Peaks and then some sort of whacky irregular clock was sent out into Morphagene :) Also, something is modulating Clouds texture a bit - might be the LFO or peaks somehow on the left. Sorry I can't be too specific but I don't remember how the modules out of the screen were set up exactly :)
