Hazen received a pair of Oysi Chassis after securing third place during the 2017 Mile High Battle in Denver Colorado. For the last year he's been enjoying the chassis and putting in some good work. This year he received a well earned first place at Mile High Battle 2018. Displaying a well established combination of technical skill and seemingly delicate brute force he's produced some excellent ...

Update: As of March 2021 each axle hardware package will include the updated sidewall spacers with a small chamfer added to the edge of the spacer. This greatly helps to avoid having to press fit the spacers. It still takes some force and working the spacer in with use of an axle makes them easier to line up. Please be aware: 1 - there may still occasionally be some sidewall spacers that need a...

amazing edit, great skating! 🔥
That was very good...and I was very appreciative of the unity grinds.
Treacherous spots is an understatement, Hazen absolutely killed those nonetheless. Well done, gentlemen!
Awesome skating and loved the mellow E.S. instrumental to it!
So sick and that last spot is at my local safeway 🤯
This is some phenomenal skating.
Really fun edit! 🔥
Great filming and skating. I love these frames also
Like a chill Derek Henderson lol
Sooo good
Congratulations Hazen!!! Killer edit too🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great feel to this one. Super solid skating 💪
❤❤
Gas bro Ive been looking at oysis for a while and this might seal the deal
🥽 or 👓 Skaters and 3M mask! Highly recommend using a the template. (I didn’t, now I know I should’ve)
This is the way to start it off. Then dremel to save from ruining UFS bolt. Speaking for USD Shadow E3 soulplate
Definitely need to do this with my Razor Cults I got the copper v1 and those soul plates are just enough for the 64mm not to fit 😭
its hard using other frames once you are used to the sound of coping mode 😂
Wicked promo well done oysi
LoL you would be done with the job by the time you did everything they say if you just start cutting the edge where the wheels touch.
maybe soles should start coming with these cut outs since it can be designed in easily
Am I the only one who is having insane problems with putting bolts in the 2nd and 3rd wheel? It's driving me nuts.
I lost four of those sidewall spacers changing some wheels in a rush (i know, big party foul 😓), do you know how I can get replacements? my wheels are rattling now :/
Could you make it more complex installing a UFS frame?
If you have any specific question regarding assembly that we can help to clarify please don’t hesitate to ask.
do you need any washers for the framebolts
No, washers are not needed. Washers should NOT be used with the UFS fasteners to secure the chassis to the boot. The ISO 7380-2 Button Head Flange screw used for the UFS fasteners essentially have a washer incorporated into the head geometry which distributes the force in a specific manner through the UFS mount area on the chassis. This head design also ensures clearance between the fastener head and the middle wheels. (Adding a washer would cause the head to interfere with the middle wheels.)
Hi do I need to modify anything in my roces m12 ?
This worked like a charm on my Kizer Fluid Vs. Fitting the spacers was an absolute nightmare until I found this technique. Thank you very much for the upload. 🙏
Awesome! You're welcome. Yes, this is a relatively simple way to get the spacers in for just about any frame where they are a tight fit.
Oh man I've just been using any old UFS bolts for my Oysi frames, I'm worried now I've watched this 😬 Next time I take them off I'll reattach them with the supplied bolts.
The USD Sway soul plate seems to have wheel wells. Would it require modification for 65/58mm setup on oysi mediums or would it fit perfect?
Yes, it would need modification. Because the recess in the plate is not quite deep enough. 64mm revolver wheels do just fit with no additional work, but a 65 would probably not spin. Not much additional material would need to be removed.
@@oysius thanks so much. Can't wait for my mediums to arrive!
@@anawkwardlifemedia I found it was alright on my sways with 65 outers on the Oysi. I guess it depends which wheel you get as they're not always the exact size they say they are. Either way you'd only have a whisker of plastic to remove. I've got symmetrics 65s btw. Enjoy the frames they're fucking amazing! 🤟
Do I need to modify for Razors Genesys 9.1?
Yes you’ll have to modify the soul plate to make the wheel well, and for Genesys you may need to remove a little material from the shell itself because of the thin center area of the soul plate.
I’m using NJ5 boots, do i have to modify/carve the soulplate to fit 65-58-58-65 flat setup on medium chassis?
Unfortunately, cannot say for certain, but it's highly likely that 65mm outer wheels would fit without modification. From looking at photos of the NJ soul plates, it really seems like you wouldn't have to modify them, since they do have some sort of wheelwell molded into the stock soul plate. It would depend on if the wheelwell ends up aligned just right above the wheels. For certain we were able to fit 65mm wheels on a Razors Shift/Loca soul plate without any modification (it just happened to be aligned well) and those soul plates look to have a much more minimal stock wheelwell than the New Jack plates. If you did have to remove some additional material in the soul plate it would be very minimal.
@@oysius thanks for replying, ok imma start to look into it.
Now show us how to get a 60mm in the middle spaces w out it rubbing the h block, because I couldn’t get 60mm in my medium chassis middle wheels slot.
If you are having trouble please email support@oysius.com Are you conveying that you are unable to install the wheel in the chassis? or Are you conveying that you have installed the wheel and there is an interference that causes it to rub or prevents it from rotating?
@@oysius update: wheel wasn’t fitting because I had the wrong frame bolts in. I realized the frame bolt heads were recessed and then the 60m fit after that.
@@zzzzimmers5046 awesome glad that everything fits together!
Hi the inner wheels were really hard to get in place and also are not really rolling as easy as the outer wheels any recommendations? Tried several different wheels problem persists.
Same problem at the moment.......
use a hammer it did work for me 🤣
@@fjg2246 i managed to wrench the inner wheels in. Was also hard to put the axles through the wheels because the spacers were hard to move.
I had to hammer the shit out of them in order to get them in. Now they're fucked up and I don't think I will ever get them out again hahah💀
Either use your fingers to push against the frame walls to give you a few extra mm when entering the middle wheels or even easier use a pair of big pliers or something similar. You can put it between the frame walls and open to slightly push the walls out for an extra mm or two. I found once it's all setup and the bearings are broken in it's a super solid feeling setup and the wheels all spin freely. *Don't forget your bearing spacers otherwise your wheels may not spin well.*
really informative video. great to see some good tool tips. what size medium chassis would you suggest for a small them boot? i normally skate wizard skates 90mm, so a bit extra length doesn’t worry me too much.
If you like the NR 90 Wizard wheelbase.....the 269mm wheelbase Medium Chassis is just a little bit shorter in length by 2-3mm. It would have a similar feel for your stride and fore/aft stability. Usually the 257mm wheelbase is the best fit for the small shell size 7-8 especially if you are really focused on just grinds. But if you go with a 65/59 wheel combo on the 269mm wheelbase Medium Chassis you’ll have a nice touch of rocker which should create a more similar feel to the NR90s for skating with having those wheel contact points out further from the front and back of your foot.
Oysi i thought this would be the case. looks like ill be picking up a set of the 269. thanks for the help :)
this video shouldn't be unlisted. just saying. might help some younger bladers feel a little less scared to buy and try. this method is way better than the dremel one that is what you mainly find online.
🤘🤘🤘
This method is more punk.
Hi. Do I have to modify my Remz HR 2.5 soul plate to install Oysi Chassis with 72mm wheels? (Regular ones, not Oysi medium)
Yes
@@oysius Thanks
@@wreduch and link to the soul plate modification template is here (also added to the description) : www.oysius.com/soulmodtemplate/
@@oysius that's a great help. thanks :)
Thanks for this!
Thanks for this. What size boot is this? Just trying to work out what size I need.
This is a size 10 US Seba SX 2. But this is with a 257mm wheelbase Medium chassis. For a size 8.5 US and up 269mm wheelbase is best. This was just to demonstrate the installation.
@@oysius I'm EU 43 so I guess 269 would be best. Thanks.
Thanks for explaining 🙏
hey man i was wonding if i put a medium oysi on my large 908 you think that would work? wheel base for my Ground Control FLT3's is 270mm . The Oysi larger medium frames say 269mm thats not much at all....just wanted some of the benifits of the medium frame...the h block and the height of the frame... but i feel the original frame would provide more stability for me.....man im stuck...idk
Hi, sorry for the very late reply. The original 72mm chassis is better for that foot size US11+ for sure, in terms of wheelbase. The 269mm Medium Chassis would feel much like other more traditional aggressive frames available (usually these are 270mm wheelbase), so if you feel like that is just a little too short, based on use of other frames, then the original chassis would be better. Once you get a nice groove into the original chassis it feels very comparable to the medium chassis in terms of grinds. But the feeling for skating will be much nicer with the original chassis for larger foot size. For the ride height comparisons, you can check out the ride heights of the two chassis with various wheel size combos using the calculator on our website here: oysius.com/rocker-calculator
Do you also sell them I can’t find them anywhere else on the internet
We do sell them, but check with some shops, they should have spacers as well. If you have no luck at all....please send an email to us through the contact page on our website - oysius.com/contact
Because I have a 28mm frame and can’t get my wheel yo fit
Is this a 28mm frame
What measurement on your frame is 28mm? Off the top of my head these are either 257mm or 269mm length - measured axle to axle (which is how you measure frames.)
Where did you find your sidewall spacers? I'm having a devil of a time.
Well......we spent from February 2019 to November 2019 working with a manufacturer in China to produce them for us. About 4-5 samples of spacers and axles and tooling changes to get them where we wanted. They make our axles and spacer hardware packs, but it’s a really big minimum order quantity. Though these hardware packs are intended to come with Oysi Chassis we do sell some of the sets to shops so they can sell them as replacements since the hardware is compatible with other frames as well, those that use a standard basic style of 8mm axle hardware and spacers. So you should be able to get a set from one of the shops if you are in need. If no luck just let us know and we’ll help get it sorted for you.
Is this a 28mm frame
