Oh yes I ranked that booster set in line with the Marble Genius themed booster sets (the Dinosaur one as shown in the video since that’s what I got). Those booster sets came out at the same time (around mid-2020) and kind of include the same pieces so I grouped them together in the ranking to save some time.

No, I followed the instructions exactly in setting mine up (maybe some discrepancies in following the colour of the tubes though, I forgot)

Yes, you have to place the vertical wheel chute on top of the straight pieces (either at the start or end of the straight piece) so that the marbles can spin the wheel. Or else it doesn't work. Hope this makes sense.

If you want to get a good marble run to start then I would recommend National Geographic or Meland marble runs for the best quality. The Marble Genius super set is also great if you don't mind some pieces being a bit loose and the price. These sets don't include metallic steel marbles.

Yes, I think they're forcing people to buy the larger sets by increasing the price of the booster sets by such a large margin. It's a better deal to spend $20 more to get the 125-piece racing set, but then again you should consider whether the small booster set is enough for you (so you don't need to spend an extra $20).

@@MoreMarbleExpert I mean I'd definitely buy the booster set, and I'd like a couple more peg mazes and funnels, but is it worth it if the big thing I really want is just the starting gate and the finish line? I'd honestly get the Galt Racer if I wanted that stuff. MindWare has a bunch of expensive marble race stuff, but NGL it feels like it's actually well-deserved with the variety and quality of pieces. I just really hope they can make their own Racing Set.

Yeah, Mindware marble runs are always on the expensive side. But as time goes by and other marble runs significantly increase their prices (while Mindware doesn't) most of their sets (especially the smaller sets) are pretty affordable in today's standards. I think the colossal set is also well worth $100 based on the vast action pieces, the elevator, and the quality of the pieces. And yes, I really hope they release their racing set (as opposed to a mini golf set for example)

1.The flimsy and loose Marbulous pieces started in 2020, which is also when the manufacturer changed the design of the tubes/spacers to the new design with more edges as compared to the old ones. Not the fault of Marble Genius entirely but regardless I'd say all new Marble Genius tubes do suck, especially the ones I got from the space elevator and rails sets so you'll never see me using those tubes. For other Toto Toys made marble run brands the stability of the new tube design is kinda mixed, the Mindware Elevator tubes are loose but the Colossal set ones are excellent. The Kumon ones are really good, the Buki France ones are a bit loose (not as bad as Marble Genius though) 2. I also remember the article they made comparing their super/extreme set to the 122 piece knockoffs. They used to separate the pieces and marble count and less and less marble run brands do this now (the only one I think of is Vtech Marble Rush now). I do think the worst example is the Rails Extreme set. You would think 625 pieces is revolutionary but literally 150 are those rail tube connectors, 175 are rail holders, and they even include the 28 rail connectors into the piece count, so basically just a 250-piece marble run set. In one blog they also called out other marble run brands having small pieces and plastic marbles, well they did the same thing in their racing set (the propellers) and the space marble run sets (plastic marbles). So yes, they didn't keep their initial promises when designing new/rebranded marble run sets.

heck yeah. rolliblock is freaking game-changing. i am lucky enough to have some rolliblock pieces but it sucks that most people don’t have them and can’t get them now. but hey, they revived the marbulous odyssey rails so i don’t see anything stopping them from reviving rolliblock (besides them simply not wanting to).

Not impossible since the Rolliblock pieces I got from the Buki France maxi set were manufactured in 2022. They didn't stop making them entirely.

Literally. Rolliblock feels like Marbulous-compatible Block-N-Roll and honest to god I'm all for it. Would love to be able to make more marble runs.

Yeah, Econ is complicated so I dislike it. Thinking from a consumer's perspective I just don't think there is a reason to purchase the extreme set for $100 where I can get the Meland 208 piece set for $51 which includes kinda the same variety of action pieces. So there will be people paying $100 for the extreme set but not as much as before when it's more fair (like under $70), they have to find the sweet spot to balance the amount of people paying for the prices and the profit they would like to make for each purchase.

Great to see that you're taking on feedback and improving your product. Also, I came up with a few more new track designs that may fit well with the marble autobahn. 1. A twin track section with 90 degree turns, bumps and perhaps a criss-cross section where marbles can switch paths 2. Slalom track 3. Staircase track 4. A Marble Jump (possibly?) 5. A boomerang/Halfpipe as the ending piece (also possibly?) Anyways I'm excited to see the future development of your product!

Hi, I'm happy to help but I think the best way for you (and your child) to play with marble runs is to slowly explore and learn to build these through trial and error. First, don't panic and start simple with 1 or 2 straight pieces and use the red circular base to collect the marbles at the end of the run. Observe where the marbles go and make adjustments if necessary. I'm sure you'll slowly get the hang of it (like I did), then you can add the more complex parts like the loop and the elevator. I know Nat Geo did not provide instructions with this marble run and I think they want everyone to be creative and come up with something new. If you still need help feel free to reply to this comment and I'll see if I can send some instructions from the other marble runs I own through email.

Mostly in containers and boxes all around my study and my bedroom, I may do a behind the scenes video showcasing how I store my marble runs when I get around to it.

Maybe they could add like a pinball funnel like the galt pinball racer, but then it doesn't fit the side by side theme. Or they can possibly include multiple kinds of funnels in the set so that it doesn't look similar to the Marble Genius Racing set, like 2 MG Deflector Funnels, 2 Kumon funnels, and 2 Long entrance funnels.

@MoreMarbleExpert Yeah, the long entrance funnels could be cool honestly, especially for a more unpredictable racing game than just "slowly spiral into funnel." I'm unsure if people would get confused at those funnels though, though it would be good to have them be translucent NGL

I didn't consider them working with Marble Genius to produce this set, great point. Perhaps this is why it bears so many similarities with the Marble Genius racing set.

The tubes are slightly smaller than Marbulous. Which means when placing a Joyin tube on top of a Marbulous tube it is too tight, when placing a Marbulous tube on top of a Joyin tube it is way too loose.

OK, so I have an update about it because I got it for Christmas and it sucks. The elevator does not work at all 64 chains is too tight and 65 to loose. I have to stick a small straight piece in between the chains to even make it work. also, I was missing a small straight track other than that, though I had everything

Regarding the Marble Autobahn I have been thinking of releasing a video talking about it and raising its issues like when it first debuted (before your video came up). I just don't think it's a suitable project for Alex to invest his time and efforts into it when he can just do more marble racing videos on his channel and appeal to a wider audience. I guess he just wants to trace the steps of Toy Racing/Premier Marble Racing of developing a marble racing set, but without funding and support from marble run companies (like Marble Genius for Toy Racing's case) he simply overwhelms his audience into filling out a form and conduct testing of the marble autobahn. So that's the main point I was trying to get to with the original video idea I had, however I was way too lazy into recording and releasing it. After your video came up it inspired me to actually record a video and talk about how he can change his marble autobahn set for the better (not just acting as a wake up call and tell him to stop executing this marble autobahn idea). So, I don't think you ever started a hate train for Marble Autobahn, I think it's needed to have these so-called responses from experienced marble race UA-camrs like you and me to transform the marble autobahn into a something better.

I wanted to give y'all the head's up that he's probably gonna find this video since he found mine and I don't wanna get sued. You can keep this video up if you want, but I don't want my video to be promoted anymore cause I'm freaking scared of this guy! Sure, he commented saying that "it's totally fine" but who knows how hurt and upset he probably was while watching my video. Knowing what he's been through, I feel like a dick. Also he did comment on my video and we had a nice conversation, but my mom freaked out and told me to delete every comment mentioning the Autobahn....and unfortunately that included Alex's comment. So yeah, if Alex can see this, I'm sorry for everything. I'm currently working on removing every mention of the Autobahn from my videos and that'll be the end of that.

Wait how did that happen? For your reference, I got mine on Amazon around mid-September 2024. I also got 142 marble run pieces since I'm pretty sure the 208 pieces include the 65 marbles and the 1 bag as well.

⁠I got mine in August for my 20th birthday. The box looked exactly the same and it did include the 2- way merging tracks I've never had before but there was no peg maze, no purple track with the yellow moving part and the instructions showing which pieces were "included" was totally inaccurate. It was a very weird and random assortment. The instructions said there were 5 clear red start cups...but my set included 15. Fifteen! It said there was one 2-way merging track....but my set included two. And of course, tons of other pieces listed on the instructions were simply nowhere to be found. It's like the manufacturers got lazy and just threw random pieces in a box and called it a day. We got the set brand new from amazon for $50 and I know I didn't order the wrong set. I was frustrated so I threw the box and instructions away pretty much immediately after. But hey, I have found the 2-way merging tracks pretty useful so I guess it kinda worked out.

This seems like a really bad packaging issue... never encountered this before. If this happened to me I would have returned the whole thing and got a new one since I got a few of those 2-way merging tracks already. Ngl I feel sorry for you not receiving the never-before seen pieces in the set while I got the complete set for $35.
