Whoever says the digital PRX is a failure is clearly the tipical watch snob that only cares about status and is obsessed with automatic movements. If you really are into watches you would know the swiss also made great digitals on the 70s and 80s. But thanks to high end brands now we have fanatics in this community that think digitals are cheap pieces of disposable trash, and obviously thats not true.

The issue of smartwatches is that just like any other tech piece like phones, laptops or TVs, they are completely dependent on the software provided by their brand, without mentioning that any sort of repair needed is exclusively asigned to such brand. And as usual, their average lifetime is about 5 to 10 yeas max if very optimistic until they stop giving software and security upgrades and will become obsolite bricks. And that is a problem of society in general and compulsive urge of consuming and improving tech, which is inevitable. At least, a traditional watch is simpler and can be easily repaired (as long as people who are able to exist) and they are perfect at completeing their purpose which is telling time.

I have two - the green dial with brown leather strap and the black “shark’s tooth” dial with steel bracelet. Exquisite watches, I’m not sure if the Alpinist is Seiko’s best watch, but it must be pretty high up in any ranking. Excellent value!

These are the same old concepts we see from year to year without real products EVER hit the market. All mentioned projects are deeply in R&D phase a years ahead of release.

It’s all just a carefully crafted illusion. An expensive watch won’t make your life better or more exciting. That money would be better spent on travel or even jewelry, which at least doesn’t come with absurd maintenance costs. For example, the cost of a so-called 'diving watch' like the Submariner could get you quality diving gear plus airfare for a diving holiday in Malaysia. Beyond a certain price point it just doesn’t make sense even if you have money to burn.

smartwatches may have tons of features but the reality is that most people never use them and and only watches time.

I have to say that I like the huge range of smartwatches on the market. For sports activities, survival and outdoor in general, the _Garmin_ and the _Suunto_ are my favorites, also the _Casio_ if you add the diving since they can withstand 200m (no idea how many feet that is) and there are many more brands. I like Apple's, but it's true that the light of the _Garmin_ is irreplaceable, I don't know what strength it has and I saw that there are models that are either white and green or white and red. When you're outdoors, I think it should be red. Also add the green one optionally. And also _Casio_ (along with some Garmin) offer solar charging and it is a plus point I have the Apple (from some previous generation) and a _Gshock_ and solar charging is a standout. That is why I subscribe that change to _Garmin_ and that does not mean that they are really good models and, both are really formal for a dinner or a getaway to the Grand Teton (or in my case the Pyrenees) and have fun with them.
