So talented.
Beautiful console, I'd love to play it someday 😊
So proud of you George! Such talent.
Bravo!
Cool stuff. Thanks.
Nice! Thank you.

I enjoyed it :>
Beautiful
How thrilling to watch this! It is such a delight to have this history of the Cathedral's organ presented by John Bertalot who was 'instrumental' in the wonderful creation that perfectly matched the architecture and liturgy of that glorious building.
Wow. Wonderful performance.
That is an OLD thumbnail... haven’t seen some of these people for a while

Well done Blackburn! Music should be at the heart of every child's education. Indeed EVERY child should have the opportunity to sing and learn how to play a musical instrument.
Nice
Hi John! Good to see you in that great building. The lovely anthem Come my way my truth my life - I recognise it but can’t remember the composer. Help! It’s driving me nuts.
Thanks, it’s by Vaughan Williams, from his ‘5 Mystical Songs’
Many thanks!
It really is a truly amazing opportunity to sing in a cathedral choir and to learn singing with John really is an added bonus, he is excellent. Parents if you have any curiosity about this it is definitely worth getting in touch to find out more.
Thank you very much Cormac! Coming from such a brilliant singer as you, this is high praise indeed.
I hope that you will keep us up-to-date with your progress as a chorister Cormac and that all went well today. 👍👍
Now why does that sound like Angels From The Realm of Glory?
That's because Regent Square is the name of the tune to which Angles from the Realm of Glory is sung.
When John Bertalot arrived there was an extremely fine Cavaille-Coll organ. Whatever he says, the Cavaille-Coll organ was a fine instrument, and the pipes were not, as Walker claimed "worn out." Anyone who knows the first thing about organs knows that organs pipes do not wear out. Check this out if you don't believe me. This is all lies. I believe that John Bertalot and J. W. Walker & Sons achieved one of the worst monstrosities of the twentieth century.
I recall Dr John giving the after dinner speech to the local organ association, near York in the 1970's. A memorable and hilarious presentation about the goings on in the organ loft over the centuries at some of our great cathedrals. What a great guy.
One of the most exciting organs around..played it in the 80's. The 32 foot Serpent and Imperial Trumpet were memorable!
Super!
Bravo!
Been there many times and even played it once. Great instrument in a great acoustic
Oh yeah!
Fantastic playing, John!
Fab playing, John!
❤️
Well done!
Why did you cut off the recording before the several seconds of reverberation could be heard?
Thank you for your comment; we are still learning how to upload and shoot videos, so please forgive the occasional technical error.
Why did you cut off the recording before it was finished?
So glad everyone had a chance to sing and be recognised at this event.
Yes... everyone... except the people who left one month prior
Love that console!
Do you have the full work recorded or any more you could put up here? It would be fantastic to hear more of this.
Nicely done.
Lovely!
The performance of this amazing piece at Blackburn Cathedral on 08 January was wonderful...thank you so much!
