Heggerty Phonemic Awareness is a well-organized 35-week curriculum of daily phonemic awareness lesson plans. Developed on a systematic scope and sequence of skills, each level focuses on eight phonemic awareness Skills, along with two additional activities to develop Letter and Sound recognition, and Language Awareness. The lessons are designed to deliver Tier 1 phonemic awareness instruction in a whole group setting and only take 10-12 minutes. For students in need of extra support, portions of lesson could be used in a small group and serve as a “second dose” of phonemic awareness instruction.

Constrained Skills Theory with Kay Stahl

One shift as we rethink small group instruction is the amount of time students spend in a group. Previously, we would often "re-group" students according to a specific timeframe. Katherine Doughtery St...

What word are you saying? All I hear is me. Is it mess, met, or ??? PLEASE show us the words on the screen!
Again, your videos could be helped with the words written on the screen. I heard mush, but then I realized you said much. Help out the visual learners. The other speaker's videos included the words on the screen. That was very helpful.
Your videos would be better if the words were written on the screen like the other speaker's videos. It helps the visual learners.
Better enunciation would help. I thought you said rate and face. Those don't rhyme. Perhaps it's a poor recording. A better way would be to offer up some context: race, as in she won the race; and face as in they have a pretty face. Isolated words can be difficult to recognize. Another option would be to show the word as written. Just a teaching suggestion from a language teacher.
I see you en SCHOOL
Im a fan of you!

Hi, I'm looking at my pre-k purple book for week 19 (Thursday) and the activities that she models in this videos are not the same activities listed in the book. Can you link me to a video that demonstrates the same lessons at week 19 from the purple pre-k book? I've watched a few of the videos demonstrating pre-k lessons and most of the activites in the videos don't line up with what's in the book.
I finished kindergarten by doing this
Hi ! I love the Science of Reading! I have a question. Every time that I see an Instagram video of teachers using this program they have the teacher manual on their laps, also here in these videos. Why?
