Better enunciation would help. I thought you said rate and face. Those don't rhyme. Perhaps it's a poor recording. A better way would be to offer up some context: race, as in she won the race; and face as in they have a pretty face. Isolated words can be difficult to recognize. Another option would be to show the word as written. Just a teaching suggestion from a language teacher.

Can you link me to a video that demonstrates the same lessons at week 19 from the purple pre-k book?
