I'm only an untrained Shmuck but arent you upposed to make a black marker line using a special gauge to mark how far the connection is?

Sorry, they’re actually called a push-to-connect fittings, not Sharkbite. This is a confusion since Sharkbite is the brand-name that popularized this type of fitting the same way that some people will call a circular saw a Skilsaw when that isn’t correct or they will call a reciprocating saw a Sawzall. There are many brands besides sharkbite that offer this same type of fitting.

That was almost everything I need to know. When should I replace these? Rubber rots, if these are inside walls I don't want to wait for extensive water damage because I can't monitor the joint.

Sharkbite recommends against removing those inner selves for copper. They say that it will damage the seal and make them unable to work for any do-overs.

Put nuts on your bolts before set the toilet rookie. Also, put your tank on your bowl before setting your bowl. Your doing it the hardest way possible.

We run inside corners with a 4" knife. The following coats use a 6". Never tape the corners with a 6" first. Each subsequent coat is supposed to overlap the previous coat. Also, there isn't just one side of the knife to use. Many pros prefer a flatter knife with less concave. They flip them and use both sides. I don't. I prefer a concave knife. When sanding always run the sanding block or pole the full length of the joint from one end to the other in one motion. Then sand in the opposite direction. You should never sand a joint in sections because it won't be the same thickness throughout. After sanding the mudded portions of the wall the entire wall gets a light sand. This ensures that no small globs or splatters are on the field section of the boards before it gets painted. Also, adding dish soap to the mud automatically voids the manufacturer's warranty.
