The Pinnacles | Hiking in New Zealand | Kauaeranga Valley Kauri Track
Taylor and I head to the Kauaeranga Valley to hike the Kauaeranga Kauri Track (Pinnacles Track). The pinnacles are a must see while in the North Island, and they are one of the cooler spots we have seen here in New Zealand.
We were not expecting this hike to be as tough as it was, it was a lot more rugged than we were planning, so it beat us up pretty good. 6 hours later, we were glad to have it done, but it was an awesome hike and we picked a good day to do it.

Mitsubishi L300 Rust Repairs and WOF Prep | New Zealand Travel
Переглядів 13816 годин тому
Taylor and I prep the Van to get The WOF - Warrant of Fitness completed. WOF in the New Zealand safety inspections for all vehicles. WOF inspects the usual things like brakes, tires, lights etc, but they also look for rust for structural concerns, however, we have heard of many people failing for body rust that didn't seem like a structural issue. To avoid this, we did what we could to fix the ...
Two Days Snorkeling in Fiji | Our Fijian Experience
Переглядів 251День тому
Taylor and I head to Fiji to do some budget snorkeling in the beautiful reefs. The first part of our video recaps some of our travels to get from Nadi to Rakiraki. Once we get to Rakiraki, we have some difficulties with the local water which kind of put a damper on the trip, but we still made the most of it. The snorkeling was a ton of fun, we saw so many fish and even got to try some spearfish...
Piha New Zealand | Black Sand Beaches and Waterfalls

Taylor and I go to explore Piha and its black sand beaches and waterfalls. Piha beach was very cool but very windy, with some big waves we weren't brave enough to try to surf. Kite Kite and KareKare waterfalls were pretty cool and then KareKare beach was another indy but cool black sand beach. These beaches were just north of Whatipu, which was one of our first videos from New Zealand. Whatipu ...
Sunrise at Hot Water Beach | Making our own hot tub on the beach
Переглядів 7521 день тому
Taylor and I go to Hot Water Beach, one of New Zealand's top tourist destinations. We opted to do it first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds. We had the place to ourselves for a while, which was pretty cool. At Hot Water Beach, you are able to dig your own hot pool in the sand, but only near low tide. At low tide you can see the water bubbling out and see steam all where the hot spring is.
Surfboards on the Roof: Killing our Solar System | Mitsubishi L300
Переглядів 217Місяць тому
Taylor and I buy some surfboards. We strap them to the roof of the van and end up covering a narrow section of our solar panel. Turns out, our solar panel can't be shaded at all or it is virtually useless. After a week of our fridge dying every night (yay), we finally shifted the solar panel over to make room for the boards and the panel to play nice. It's been a couple weeks since the fix and ...

    You need to modify your roof rack so you have more clearance under your roof rack and solar panels and stick your boards under there that way you'll still have working solar now get to it you're on a mission

    Hey, Love the videos! Seeing you do this build made me want to put together my own 6.8 swap using an 01 6.8 and an 03 mustang. Were there any specific challenges pushing the motor in there? I have height adjustable mounts i plan to use to hopefully avoid having the steering shaft hit the headers plus the hydroboost getting in the way. What did you do about the fuel return line though? And also why did you choose to merge the two harnesses? I plan to have the 6.8 running on its own using basically the stock harness and computer off the 550 i got it from. Did you integrate the harnesses for a specific reason or just so you can get readings to the dash easier? Ive gotten the 6.8 running in a cradle using the 550 wiring and in theory I just need to feed it fuel, coolant, hookups for a digital dash/starter, voltage, and a throttle cable off the mustang side. Any info would help greatly and I would appreciate it! If there is any way to get into contact besides YT my instagram is Overused_03. Enjoy your trip!

    The yellow-eyed penguin is the sole species in the genus Megadyptes. It was previously thought closely related to the little penguin but new molecular research has shown it is more closely related to penguins of the genus Eudyptes. Mitochondrial and nuclear DNA evidence suggests it split from the ancestors of Eudyptes around 15 million years ago. In 2019 the 1.25Gb genome of the species was published as part of the Penguin Genome Consortium, and this will help resolve the origins and aid conservation by helping to inform any future breeding programmes. Previously thought closely related to the little penguin (Eudyptula minor), molecular research has shown it more closely related to penguins of the genus Eudyptes. Like most penguins, it is mainly piscivorous. The species breeds along the eastern and south-eastern coastlines of the South Island of New Zealand, as well as Stewart Island / Rakiura, Auckland Islands, and Campbell Islands. Colonies on the Otago Peninsula are a popular tourist venue, where visitors may closely observe penguins from hides, trenches, or tunnels. On the New Zealand mainland, the species has experienced a significant decline over the past 20 years. On the Otago Peninsula, numbers have dropped by 75% since the mid-1990s and population trends indicate the possibility of local extinction in the next 20 to 40 years. While the effect of rising ocean temperatures is still being studied, an infectious outbreak in the mid-2000s played a large role in the drop. Human activities at sea (fisheries, pollution) may have an equal if not greater influence on the species' downward trend.

    Very cool, what driveavility issues were you seeing on that test drive? Also any insight on the mechanical fitment. What did you do about motor mounts? Flip them or move one back and use a relocation bracket and a custom mount? You running the stock v10 manifolds? Stock or tubular K?

    • @PeaksAndPlaces
      @PeaksAndPlaces 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comment. No major issues on the test drive besides the engine lagging. In the past, the engine would die at stops if I let off the gas but this most recent test was the most "normal". Motor mounts were aftermarket 4.6l V8 mounts (stock would have worked) and were mounted on the back set of holes. On the passenger side (I think) I had to weld a bracket to move the motor mounts back. The driver side (again i think) had holes in the block for the mounts to bolt right up. The mounts bolted right into the stock k frame, I eventually want a tubular one but haven't wanted to spend the money on it just yet. It has stock manifolds but I heavily modified the driver side to get around the steering linkage. This manifold will not be a realistic ling term option. My modification cuts down on the flow a good bit and I need to get a better manifold made (likely custom).

    • @01Snorky
      @01Snorky 5 місяців тому

      @erichakes323 very cool!!! I am assembling one and it will be going in a 94 gt. I had the same thoughts as you about one side going in the rear holes and the other needing a steel plate to relocate it further back. I have a UPR tubular K for it to go on for extra room. Good to know about the stock manifolds, I imagine they would be difficult to work with. I may try and use a set of 4.6 bbk long tubes and ratchet the collectors together and add a primary to the front and just tie it into a pipe behind it

    Ford did this as a prototype back when new edge firsr c0ame out. They used a aluminum block with cobra r v10 heads (impossible to find). It had a crossflow dual intake. Powered by 2 ecm's. One for each bank. NA it made nearly 500 horspower. Thanks to Obama this was shelved and a good reason why new edges didn't come with loads of hp from factory.
