Can someone please help me my writing looks nothing like this and im so fucking lost
FANTASTIC
Best LR pickup Installation ever in youtube channel. Very skillfully executed. Thank you, sir.
are those stainless steel
I think a super smart and useful thing to do that would benefit both the viewers and your company would be to share URLs of the tools that you are using (for example I was curious to find out what exact electric string winder model you were using; some might be interested in the exact model of the Marshall Amp that you are using at the end, etc). You could use affiliate URLs from Amazon or if your store sells things like this, then you can share your own online's store URLs.
Hi is the bridge pick up an sh-4 or tb-4 it seems the space between string will fit better the tb-4
It's been a long time and many hundreds of guitars ago, but I do believe this was an SH-4. Now, TB-4 would make more sense for sure, but the customer often brings the pickups to me. Also, we have to realize that magnetic fields aren't exact as many people believe, so the string spacing of an SH-4 still works very well with little to no difference it tonal value.
I love how people dont talk. That way I don't have to hear how they did it and that way I can't understand the subtle things that may make this easier. Nope,mi won't be able to do shit!
Anyone know what exactly is needed wiring wise to put pickups/pots, and all into an empty body? I found a good deal on a guitar but it has absolutely be electronics in it and IDk what I need besides pickups
Why bash the pick-up with a pair of needle nose to "test" it? Use a Meter and test the pickup output instead of bashing up your clients new pickup covers for Pete's sakes🙄
Thank you! Really well done. I will be able to install an LR Baggs Element now so much appreciated! Just subscribed.
how is this an rg8
I think its an RGA-8. He just forgot to mention the A part
Does this guitar take long or short shaft pots?
Hello. Was the hole drilled straight away with 1/2" drill? Have you used a smaller drill bit before? I have the same guitar and LR Baggs M80 for assembly...
To be honest, this job was many guitars ago, so I don't recall the exact size of bit. If I remember, I'll let you know! Thanks for watching!
Which guitar it is?
Hello! To be honest this was MANY MANY guitars ago, so I don't recall.. It was a custom shop model.
Hi, great upgrade, sorry, what kind of pick ups they have before upgrade??
This was many guitar repairs ago, but I believe they were just the stock Ibanez pickups. These were a great upgrade, Thats for sure!
ItS TuNEd A whOLE sTeP DoWn. Bro if you're going to play $800 into a guitar maybe use it the way it's meant to be used
What a pointless f'ing video. No info at all. Look dude don't make a video so you can admire yourself. It's really lame and pointless. I'm surprised you have any subscribers. Thank God for braindead idiots huh.
What kind of tremolo bridge is this? I'm having trouble locating an 8-string with a tremolo bridge in the Ibanez catalog
My apologies, upon further inspection - this appears to be a FX Edge III-8 bridge. There is no tremolo functionality, but double-locking tuning stability is a major plus
Where do you purchase the piezo for a LR Biggs under saddle design?
I have the Ibanez GRG 121dx would this pickups work and do you have a link.
Hello! These pickups would work great I would say! You can by them from my store here. musicvillageusa.com/products/seymour-duncan-hot-rodded-set-jb-and-jazz-black?_pos=4&_sid=b5d085719&_ss=r
Prefer Bare Knuckles but man, those pickups match well with the 8 string.
hello i have the same guitar but big problems with connectin my new humbuckers. can you send me a picture of your guitar electric?
Did you ever figure this out
The Hot Rodded Humbucker set is so superior to the crappy DiMarzios or whatever comes stock that it's not even funny. The JB has more tone, cut through better, have punchier harmonics, just everything, and the Jazz is my favorite neck pup of all time. These Duncans just make every guitar sound so much better there really is no comparison.
Dude - DiMarzio makes superior pickups. Crappy? Stop. Lol. Duncans don't do it for me. But I respect your opinion.
Great video thank you
Amazing video man! I have a Ibanez Gio that I got as a first guitar a couple years ago. Would it be worth upgrading with Seymour Duncans, hardware etc. on a cheap 150-200$ guitar? I'm keeping it since it's my first but was thinking about it as it would be nice to have another guitar in a different tuning.
the only question is, is it worth to you.. if you want to do it, go for it
Yes
Would you be able to explain how you wired it to the pickup selector? Like which color wires go where?
Did you route a bridge ground? I'm swapping out a pair of EMGs (which don't need any), but the fishman installation manual mentions a bridge ground
Thanks! I have a question: If my Ibanez (RG870QMZ-RDT) has humbucker/single/humbucker (and one volume/one tone like yours) and I want to change just the humbuckers, I have to remove the middle pickup too or isn't necessary to install the neck and bridge ones?
Likely you will have to remove the middle at least to get the wires from the new pickups through the body.
@@jgguitarcompany4174 Thank you!
That sounds great. What model amp were you using at the end (it looked like a Fishman)?
It was a Fishman amp! Sounded great with this guitar!
I had one of these amps and it died a little more than a year after I bought it brand new. So now I have a Marshall as50D and no problems. I hope that fishman has fun in the dump where it belongs.
@@crazycat1345 The Marshall AS50D is also a great amp!
Steven Carpenter?
Pretty sure thats the guy from deftones
Many thanks I have always used a faraday cage for single coil strats Is it not essential for Ibanez humbuckers ?
In my opinion, it's not too big of a problems without, but it never hurts to have that added. I give my customers the option.
JG Guitar Company - much appreciated - thank u -
What size are bits you used for the strap button and the saddle?
I don't remember exactly to be honest, I believe it was 1/8" on both, but can't recall at this point!
@@jgguitarcompany4174 Great video, I just did one of these and I used a 7/64 bit on the bridge (though a 1/8 should work fine too), I used a 3/8 for initial diameter of the narrower part of the end pin jack connector but the bracing in my guitar made the end pin area thick enough that I had to use a 1/2" so I could fit the thicker part of the end pin jack through the hole. Hope that helps.
Dropped the lowest string as the 12 gauge string or the 105 gauge?
Hey! I didn't use the lowest 105 string. It was pretty heavy though!
Thanks man! Exactly what I needed to know.
I really enjoyed this video. I just subscribed!
Thank you very much! Hopefully I can get more content up!
Hey I wanted to ask a question from your lastest video of your Fishman fluence job(but comment were turned off). I want to get a set of Fishman fluence modern Humbucker pickups and I want them Installed on my Ibanez Jem 77p bridge and neck it’s a HSH set up. Would that be a difficult job to get done? I would really appreciate it if you could give me an answer. Thanks 🙏🏽
Yo 3ASY Beast! The install wouldn't be too bad I would think. However, with the Fluence pickups you will be swapping out the volume and tone pots with 25k pots, so the middle pickup may sound a little dull do to the load on the pickup. Otherwise, it should be pretty straight forward! A JEM 77p is a very cool guitar! Hope you find what you need!
I own a gio 120ex and wanna put emg or seymour duncans is there any solder necessary or basically plug and play?
EMG's will include pretty much what you need and will be more or less plug and play. If you get the Active Duncan like the Black outs, they will be as well. But if you are wanting to put Passive pickups in, you will have to solder for sure. With Active pickups you might have to solder as well. Just depends on what you want.
Nice vid👍 I'm swapping my quantums out for vanson alnico v humbuckers. 4 wire. Did you have issues working out where the wires went? Mine's HH with a pcb style 5 way switch and I'm stumped as to where to wire it up 😪 just tried it and got horrendous hum and one selector position is way louder than the rest......must have done it wrong
To be honest, I don't remember exactly the setup we ended up going with. I believe I did change the switching from the factory setup to a different scheme. It was many guitars ago!
I have the same problem.
Hey bro, thanks for your video, it really helps. Which set of Duncan pickups do you use? Does it improve much than the quantum pickups?
On this guitar I believe I used a JB in the bridge and Jazz in the neck. It really improved the tone for sure!
Awesome bro. And those pickups sound beefy!
