I Turned this OVER 40 Years Vintage model kit into my BEST work, HMS Victory Cross Section 1:98
In this video, I built the HMS Victory Cross Section 1/98 scale from Corel.
HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy. She was ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759, and launched in 1765. With 246 years of service as of 2024, she is the world's oldest naval vessel still in commission.
Victory is best known for her role as Horatio, Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. She additionally served as Keppel's flagship at Ushant, Howe's flagship at Cape Spartel and Jervis's flagship at Cape St Vincent. After 1824, she was relegated to the role of harbour ship. In 1922, she was moved to a dry dock at Portsmouth, England, and preserved as a museum ship. She has been the flagship of the First Sea Lord since October 2012.

In this speed build video, I demonstrated how I made the Chinese Pirate Junk Ship 1/100 scale from Amati. Junks like these plied the seas, rivers and harbours of China. For the captains of Clippers carrying tea and spices to Europe, it was impossible to tell whether they were peaceful merchants or ferocious pirates, until it was too late. This highly effective model differs from a merchant junk...

Переглядів 12 тис.9 місяців тому
So many would-be modelers want to begin by building a huge 100-gun ship of the line. Most of those very expensive kits get started but never finished. The job is much too complex and the poor builder hasn’t acquired the skills needed. For this second, intermediate kit, some previous knowledge is necessary in order to be successful. If you have already built the Model Expo Lowell dory kit, you a...

Full build: the MOST Inexpensive wood ship model kit
I love that movie, it made me want to become a swordfish captain.
An excellent build! I have been doing only plastic model kits for decades now and this video ALMOST convinced me to try my hand at this ship.....that was until I saw that I need to buy a sewing machine. Oh well.
Lol, you do not need to. Pencil lined sails look good as well.
I like more 16-18th century sailing ships, and I have all I have room for. Really enjoyed this, I’ve seen that model and wasn’t expecting it to be so complex
Nice job...I'm an airplane builder but now I want to find a vintage ship to build...well done.
why are you whispering?
hes trying not to startle the wood glue too much
You sir are extremely skilled & patient to not only build a model like this but to document it as well as you have for all of us to enjoy. Content like this gives me hope for humanity.
Thank you 🙏. it is a good hobby just want more people to get into and enjoy it.
Excellent craftsmanship. Those "tell tails" on the main are reef points for reducing sail area during heavy weather.
Thanks for the info!
Did you happen to let the guy who sold you the kit in the garage sale know about this video so he can see it finally built?
No. Afraid that he might change his mind. 😂
@@EZmodeling “Gimme that back, you little whipper-snapper!!” [waves walker in the air]
Thank you for explaining what products you use. Very nice build.
My pleasure!
Excellent work thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you too!
Commendable.
I love that copper tape you used.
I'm a 3D student trying to reproduce this boat on Maya. You have no idea how much I found this usefull. THANK YOU AND GREAT JOB <3
Great to hear!
I like that you sound like little Nicky
Excellent craftsmanship!!!
Wouldn't the water just come in the ends?
I visited the Victory. It worth the trip to England.
Beautiful work man.
Thanks a lot!
No way they used boulders for ballast. Surely they used gravel, right?
they used metal ballast like iron and lead. the gravel used according to the model drawings and easy access to get.
A very satisfying video. I also congratulate you on your editing.
Thank you very much!
so all you gotta do is scale that up 35 times and you'll have the best navy of anyone on your block
Lol
Excellent job, congratulations!
Thank you very much!
Работа поофессионала.
Woah woah woah! At 9:09 - the copper plating! I noticed one of the bolt indentations you made in the copper is .0000000000000001 nanometers out of place. Sorry, but you'll have to throw the whole model away and start over.
Lol
You did the model set designers proud. Great looking set
Thank you very much!
I love your voice and hope to see more video with you talking 🤩
Thank you! Will do!
Well done my friend, thank you for sharing this project with us.
Thank you! Cheers!
You can still buy these kits. I have a modelers magazine that delivers every 6 months or so and they list this model
Awsome work
Thanks 😄
Wonderful detail!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have the USS Constitution cross section I bought 40 years ago--that I still need to build.
Very well done. An unusual model but interesting. I recognise the part of the ship modelled, I have stood there many times as man and boy, being from the Portsmouth area. Have you been able to visit HMS Victory? If not, then I hope you do get to one day, it is a truly amazing experience. There is also the remains of the Mary Rose and HMS Warrior (Iron clad steam ship) at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Many thanks!
what video was used at the end ship battle
Remixed and edited from “18th century naval battle | houdini”

I live next to Portsmouth where the Victory is and have been on it a few times, this really has got the look of it. And yes the decks really are that low inside.
WOW...
How surprising. About 40 years ago, I was considering, if I should buy it. Instead I bought the "Friedrich Wilhelm zu Pferde"
This is more a kit for the experienced modeler, my opinion. I would steer a beginner to the Midwest kits, like their Skiff or Whitehall tender..Just my opinion.
Yes and no. The kit is definitely more complex than the Midwest kits. However, now days, with the tutorial videos and other people’s build logs the beginners pick up speed very fast. I have seen many new modelers built even more complex ones with stunning results.
Beautiful work, wonderful to know it was taken care of all these years
Many thanks!
I should have turned off the sound!
That model is awesome, very nicely done. I particularly liked the copper skin under the waterline, that was a nice detail.
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for explaining what you were doing. It makes it much more interesting.
Glad you liked it!
so at 7:05 min., why not just use an electric cutter in first place?
Waiting for a brand to sponsor me a good one, lol
Nice but your still building a kit.
I will scratch build but gonna enjoy most of kits first
Your voice is so much better than that ai annoying voice. Unfortunately I cannot watch the others videos due to that reason. Great channel, looking forward to more interesting builds with you 🙏
Awesome work dude really nice
Thanks a ton!
Beautiful work, beautifully shot!
Amazing! Good job!
Thanks!
7:30 Pro-tip. To prevent bleeding under the tap spray on a clear coat (dull not glossy) that is compatible with your paint choice along the edge of the tape. That'll seal the edge and prevent paint bleeding and you just paint right over it.
This dory is also a swampscott dory from the town where these were designed and made by my family ! There are 3 types of them " a gunning dory, sailing dory ,And a tomb stone dory " this is the tomb stone because the stern resembles a tomb stone ! The gunning dory also called the double end because it had a bow on both ends ! And were the back bone of the whaleing industry We have the original half hulls still and each of the real boats as well ! You can see some of them in museums such as the new Bedford whaling museum, Peabody Essex in salem massachusetts
