Watched the film on a bit of a lark (no agenda) and I think there’s some interesting lessons to be learned from the project.

    Yes! Some even have sharks teeth or sharpened flint it's brilliant because you can replace them as needed I can't imagine facing that in combat. very nasty! That thing can split your head in 2 . That's a very nice example I'd love to get my hands on one.

    I think this is my first time seeing these all wood Pacific Islander clubs. I have seen the ones with the rock/shark tooth along the striking surface. Definitely a cool concept.

    Not one person claimed to see a shooter from the knoll on the 22nd but multiple people saw a shooter or a gun barrel in the 6th floor window which is where the search immediately centered on.

    Looks like the handle may have broken off a long time ago. The way the end looks suggests a break.

    • @ObjectHistory
      @ObjectHistory 13 годин тому

      Had not thought of that! Edit- But I feel like the flattened cross-section is so long that it's difficult to imagine a round haft being further down, because that section would have to be long enough to hold with two hands, so the total length feels like it'd be too much... really not sure though, and I know squat about interpreting signs in the wood.

    • @SkyForgeVideos
      @SkyForgeVideos 13 годин тому

      @ObjectHistory When wood breaks it tends to splinter and tear unevenly. So those little indentations that go up into it would be where the grain split apart. At least that's what it looks like to my eyes. Not saying I'm like some kind of historical wooden weapons expert, but I do have quite a bit of experience of restoring old tools, so I've seen and repaired many broken handles over the years. Obviously I can't say that's definitively it, but If I saw this anywhere, that's what I would suspect. And it's interesting that you mention the length. I was wondering if it was possible that it was more of a ceremonial or display type of thing, or maybe a two handed sword style of weapon, but I don't know enough about the culture. And funnily enough I've always thought that canoe paddles would be handy war clubs. I might need to make one... Hmmm. 🤔

    Ive seen versions with points at both ends. War clubs are the ultimate fantasy weapon. They in my opinion are cooler than swords.

    Well, this IS a very important one. So is the Empress, but I will keep myself to mine own side of those matters. It does seem we have so many, on the left and on the right, wanting to describe us who are male in their own images - or it that more in their plans. I say - let's describe ourselves per the personal of being, condition and life history, and hang all others who only want us slave to them. Rather than that noisy crowd, listening to the wisdom of the collective past is a far better (and saner) option. As to my own Emperor, I engaged in combat with him and banished the enslavement of dis-approval. I am what I am, and while I didn't 'kill' - that Emperor knew better than to ever try another enough, Pity is, my Empress lacked the understanding to know that I would put her in a tower of banishment. But, sadly - as is this heritage of mine, she felt it is an right to think herself on par with an ancestor of ours. Now, that woman was called the Great Woman or the Great Mary, and were asked for advice from marriage to business. Not a small thing on a island with rather able and proud folk. But - she earned that business rather thinking it was hers by right. Even my Emperor never understood that he has married... And yes - it is a curious thing this interest today with pirates and Vikings. The early family on the island of Nantucket has mention of Letters of Marque, and that was a legal license to be an pirate. With the certain knowledge that I am a descendant of Rollo - it is interesting to me the current interest in Vikings. My DNA still shows an 9% percentage as being Dano-Norwegian. And while I lack children. Fate directed me in a difference path. I still have many who seek me as my 'vassal or to be my sons. What kind of Emperor to be - indeed. (Love the one-note addition from Beethoven.)

      Thank you! It's on Amazon and other websites. Amazon is the preferred choice from my perspective because then readers can rate and review it, if they want to, which helps encourage Amazon to make it more visible. I know it's not cheap but that's because it has over 100 pictures, many in color. I get like a few dollars from each sale, that's it... again, just to explain the price tag. Amazon - a.co/d/2YD47t6

    • @ObjectHistory

      Shad's novel is set in a world he created (obviously, as the author)... where the age of consent is 14 and his elderly man protagonist had sex with countless 14 year old girls. I used to be a lot kinder to him despite thinking his weapons analysis was extremely shallow, now I realize he's a full on creep besides being a lazy weapons content creator.

    I was at a nightclub in Belfast in the 90’s. An average sized guy with sap gloves on knocked out at least 2 dozen people in the club, starting with the bouncers who tried to remove him for some reason. The dude went outside and continued to knock people out. Police arrived and he knocked several of them out as well. Cops and bystanders finally piled on top of him and overpowered him. It was the first time I’d ever heard of these gloves. Haven’t thought about them until just now when I saw this video. Thanks for the super interesting content!

    Really cool, I had always dismissed blackjacks as old and ineffective but I was dead wrong, extremely relevant today. I have one from DD whips so I have something when I can't carry a firearm, . The bad thing about soap is that it shatters on the first swing so make it count

    • @ObjectHistory
      @ObjectHistory 8 днів тому

      DD whips is a quality maker for sure. A jack can be devastating, no doubt. I think some ppl underestimate them greatly but then others make the opposite mistake. Some people can keep fighting after taking a baseball bat to the head or getting stabbed multiple times or whatever. But used properly and in the right spots, jacks have a long history of being effective. When they're used to just flail wildly, less so. And then again, they can kill.
