Big Bird the Yellow TJ is finished.

I finish getting the yellow TJ running and driving. It was not near as easy as it should have been. Chased some electrical gremlins around and around, but got it all worked out in the end. Dash came out real nice with clean simple lines. #jeep #customfab #offroad #reddogmotorsports

4:20 That rock edge looks unreal!!
That is known as The Waterfall. Not too far from the entrance on the Evarts side. It is about 6 feet tall nowadays. It is a lot of fun. I was surprised I didn't make it as I have been up it before. In hindsight I should have shifted into second.
@@RedDogMotorsports or Hit Drive! LOL
Great trip dude!
@@BeeftallicA yes it was, as always.
yessss more crawler videos
Sorry I have missed some videos but I have caught up with you cool jeep and great build
Thank you. Hope your making some progress on your Mustang.
My dipstick tube is also leaking in the same place......I think I am going to try and sneak a stock tube in there.
@@brianallen8579 i think the stock tubes seal better personally. Can usually massage a stock tube to fit
@ ya, the oring style is junk
@brianallen8579 agreed
Glen this is Michigan
Awesome Stuff!!!
@GMBLR69 thank you sir. It was good to meet y'all.
What a Sweet TJ and Portals!! Too cool!
Yeah it's a cool little rig. I really like the front and back half design. I'll have to keep the design in mind next rig i have to back half.
So many RAT RODs 😍😍😍
thx again for leading me here from the Jeepster Commando site. I've found answers to a couple of my questions. Thx!
Awesome build Glenster! Love the rat.
@rickspires8322 thanks man. Stop in when your up next take it for a spin
You’re welcome. Was fun to help on it!
Nicely done!
@@robbiewolfard9354 appreciate it
@@RedDogMotorsports watched your interview with Hardcore Fab, so came and check out your videos. Thanks for sharing this process!
@robbiewolfard9354 Anthony did me a solid with that interview for sure. Just need another couple of dox.zen like lol. Thanks for checking out the channel. Got a couple of cool vehicles coming up in the next couple of weeks. Then I should get back to building something cool again.
Turned out so sick! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
yeah, I am pretty happy with it. Still needs the top chopped though.
How did you resolve the coolant issue?
@@MacsSpecialitiesProperties i changed to a high volume pump. It took a good 20 degrees out of it. I'm going to add some air ducting under the rig to give me a little more ram air effect at speed to try and get another 10 degrees out of it.
@@RedDogMotorsports Nice thanks for the update, I want to eventually move my rad in the rear of my ZJ. Good luck with your pickle product!
@MacsSpecialitiesProperties one thing I didn't do but should have is the use of smaller diameter tubing. I used 1.5vinch and should have used 1.25 inch. It helps increase velocity and makes it a little easier on the pump to prevent cavitation
@@RedDogMotorsports Nice, did you use heater hose or exhaust pipe?
@MacsSpecialitiesProperties thin wall tube hrew. Bent it on the tubing bender like you would for a roll cage. Used 1.75 tubing for couplers at welded joints and silicone tube at removable connections.
Sweet!
I am rlly excited to watch it run
Was an awesome trip
Yeah, it was one for the memory banks for sure.
Sick dude. I like the build
Thank you. Got several other interesting projects coming into the shop over the next month or so as well , so stay tuned.
Me and my dad just seen you at bucees nice rat rod !
@BrynleeBrown-r7u thanks for the props. Just coming back from Ratrod Magazine build off

Thank you. sir. Looking forward to the trailer build on your entry.
Give me as much heads up as you can when you plan on doing the wiring. I want to come by and help. Life is busy though so let me know.
@BeeftallicA will do. Been meaning to call you to discuss the same

What was the deal deal with lower lodge
@@jamesweir2062 it had flooded a couple of weeks before and while they cleaned up it had gotten moldy from the humidity. They took good care of us though.
Epic trip for sure!! Next time we need a camera crew to follow us around......
But that adds another 20 hours to the time it takes to complete Tackett Creek
Awesome ride!
Epic weekend! Love the Ronan cam and interviews. Got to keep that.
You gotta normalize your volumes. music is loud as hell then its whisper time when your explaining what your building
I'll have to look into it. Thanks for bringing it up
Good stuff, most people have no idea the time it takes to fabricate stuff like that or how hard it is to weld out of position with things in the way
As I have developed my skills over the years I have developed a much greater appreciation for the time that people put into their projects. Even ones that I don't necessarily like, I find I can appreciate their skill and attention to detail. I just wonder why they wasted it on what they did!!!
Looks good!
I might have to add the grill accessory for the Wangler
It would be a worthwhile expense for sure. Nothing like fresh grilled burgers on the trail.
I dig the buggy, someday I will build one when I am done thrashing my TJ "wanna be buggy" it still has half the frame a hood and a grill so its still a jeep.
Just don't get rid of the jeep while you build. That was my big mistake. I didn't wheel while I was building and it was a struggle to stay motivated because of it
When are you getting a 2 post lift?
Gonna be a minute I believe
You will love having that transmission jack. I use mine for everything from moving axles to actually working on transmissons/transfer cases
The angle adjustments are nice. Already put it to use taking transfer case and transmission out of the 2011 RAM
It's cool you get your boy out there to help ya
Thank you. His attention span is still a little short but for his age he does well.
My .02 gets I like the lower old daully single grille... Changes the look, so it's not just a lowered jeepster... Then, use your skills to personalize it.. Keep it fun Wish I doing it, but not in the cards for me......
Appreciate the props. I am positive that the dually axle is going under it. I should be starting that process this week. I am still undecided on what grill and hood to use. That decision will probably happen after I get the body set on the frame and can get a better look at the stance with everything sitting on it.
I got faith you can do it.... One step at a time.... I'll be watching and cheering you on.....
Im running old H1 wheels and tried pvc inserts back in early 2000's. Had nothing but problems and fought like hell to get them in and seated. Finally gave up and I'm back to the magnesium run flats. Bummer is no one makes pressed centers for them anymore and I bend up the plate ones.
Trail Worth fab does centers for h1s still.
out of 8x6.5 since last year unfortunately@@RedDogMotorsports
Stazworks still does some as well. He can be reached at John@stazworks.com
Thinking of just buying "new" hmmwv wheels and running spacers, why not ask a guy on the internet what he thinks. Would be easier
@@Paper452 I personally would move to 17 inch wheels. I know the upfront cost is large but there are more choices out there and tire manufacturers are likely to drop the 16.5 before long. Lots of good used wheel and tire setups for sale in the 17 flavor
Like everyone I have fought and cobbled together solutions to remove transmissions. Finally broke down and got a trans jack, best 229 I have spent. In one of your vdeos can you cover your buggy more in depth?
Yeah I need to get a transmission jack. I blew the motor in the buggy last trip. So I will have a video coming up on it real soon.
That thing just pulls non stop. Awesome build
Too many projects? I know that feeling! Lol
You were able to bend that tube with the aluminum slug in there? I would have thought the slug would cause it to bind/kink
As long as you grab the aluminum it doesn't. I haven't tried bigger though
@@RedDogMotorsports good to know, did you design that chassis on your buggy? Keep up the content your will catch on 🤙
@@Paper452 I started with a builders chassis from M&M out of North Carolina. It was just a basic structure. And Thanks I appreciate the support
Sick buggy, did you build it?
Yes it was a ground up build. Finished it in 2020. Of course I damaged the motor last week on my groups wheeling trip. So motor is coming out soon
I can’t wait to get this on the road and be daily driving it. Awesome series, nice to be able to watch my build from the comfort of home LOL
I'm looking forward to seeing a good burn out from it
Nice series dude!
Thank you sir
