Marie de Guise Part 3 1
It's here guys! The final installment of this amazingy women's story, I hope you enjoy it. There has been far too little written about Marie, and I am indebted to the excellent biography The Scourge of Henry VIII: The Life of Marie de Guise by Melanie Clegg which I cannot recommend enough for anyone who want to dive deeper into her life. Let me know what yo think of the end of her story in the comments, and until next time!

Thanks for the comment. You are absolutely correct it is Margaret Tudor. I made an error while filming and didn't catch it in the edit. I write, film, edit and produce these videos completely by myself. I do them because I think it's important to hear about women's stories that are basically unheard of when it comes to Scottish history. I don't make any money from these videos, and film them around my other full time job. Occasionally, there will be mistakes that get made. I welcome the correction, but do take into account that people who make content are on the whole producing things for free, and won't have a BBC editing team behind them. We are all human at the end of the day and mistakes will happen. Have a super day 😊

You should get the facts and names correct. Margaret Tudor NOT MARY TUDOR. MARY TUDOR MARRIED THE FRENCH KING AND THEN CHARLES BRANDON. NOT MARY QUEEN OF SCOTTS GRANDDAUGHTER.

This is a really useful lesson because students worry too much about concepts like internal or external obligation. The idea of "consequences" makes it easy to choose the correct modal for obligation. You are a down to earth English teacher!

Watching this from Brisbane, spent November 2022 in Edinburgh, most afternoons I would venture out and follow the storylines of Edinburgh’s rich and regrettably torturous herstory of witches from the Well on Castle Hill to Ramsay Lane, The Mound, Grassmarket, Cows Gate to name a few. Amazing stories, great video. I will return to Scotland. With thanks, 💯🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤

Lets hope your video will encourage more people to read his poetry. I suspect that if people have heard of Fergusson they have heard of his death in Bedlam and think that his poetry will be somewhat bleak which of course is far from the case. His verse is full of vigour and often humorous. The old Scots language is not a barrier with a good glossary. Thanks for an enjoyable video.

Thank you for your lovely comment Stewart! I certainly hope so. He does seem to be having a bit more of a resurgence with a few documetnaries recently, so fingers crossed he will reach more readers. I think in general though we should be teacing more Scots poets in school than just Rober Burns (as much as I love him!). There is such an incredible amount of poetry waiting to be read!
