Love Sherlock. Excellent narration.
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching 🙂
Thanks you guys…love you narration…
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching =)
Horrible monotonous background music. I could listen to more than a few words!
copy write issues limit the music can use but we try to mix it up so not the same for every story, thanks for the input =)
@@WickedStoryTime-42 Why have any music at all? None of the other audio books do.
@@davidhouseago416 not being just like all the other audio books is kinda the point.. I try to make it not so loud as to be distracting but just a hint of something extra in the background to enhance the mood of the story
@@WickedStoryTime-42 The key to a good story telling is the mood created by the story teller. Your telling of the story is good enough without the distraction of any backround music. A good story stands on the quality of the author, his writing and construction and they don't come any better than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. His writing doesn't need the distraction of backround music. We hear it everywhere in pubs, cafes and super markets and it is just a backround noise. If I want to listen to music I will get out my earphones and put on my personal colection of favourites. If the story is good enough it can stand on its merits alone. I will continue to listen to audio books without musac but that is only my personal taste.
It is a good Reed like it.
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching 🙂
Very well read
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching =)
Back to reality ❣️.
Happy New Year! Thanks for watching =)
Well narrated.
Glad you enjoyed it! thanks for watching 🙂
Why?!? Why the awful American accent!?! Come on! If this is AI generated, you can make it an English accent as the story demands! I'm an American anglophile, and when I see it's a Wodehouse Jeeves & Wooster story, I click on it expecting to be gratified with hearing the suitably posh tones of a classic English fop, as Wodehouse intended, because it's in the first-person, as told by that quintessential English fop, Bertie Wooster!
The reading was not AI generated.. and being that it is read by a live non British person, that is not some professional voice actor, means that you get a reading without that specific accent though I believe it can be enjoyed regardless 🙂
What a ghastly accent and yuk the drawings, you willl ruin the wonderful old stories.
This is a very underrated Holmes tale. Thanks for the Christmas present. 😊
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching =)
One of my favorite books ever
So glad you like it! Thanks for watching =)
When you wanted a Hugh Laurie accent, but got a Gregory House one. (Thanks for putting this up, just teasing)
Thanks for commenting and watching =)
PG Wodehouse is quintessentially English, and a traditional English narrator voice would have been a good choice.
Thanks for the input, I just don't have an English accented reader available all the time. Hope it was still enjoyable. Thanks for watching =)
@WickedStoryTime-42 Thanks - it was enjoyable, and well read. I assumed it was AI, and you could have switched to an English accent!
Reggie and his man, Voules, were early prototypes for Bertie Wooster and Jeeves. Wodehouse's bantering tone is already fairly well established here, but the prose lacks the spare descriptive style of later, and the characters are drawn with less subtlety and warmth. There is little sense of the relationship between them, and the clear but unspoken social commentary on class, which are the mainstays of the later books. I don't think they would have caught the love of the public as Wooster and Jeeves later did, and i suppose Wodehouse came eventually to that conclusion.
Thanks for commenting and watching =)
Its nice to have some pictures to look at, but some of these AI illustrations are so terribly ugly! Are there no old illustrations you could use?
Images are a mix of original illustrations for the work in public domain, & filled in with some AI
Never tire of Sherlock Holmes Lovely illustration to
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 😄
Thank you for this. I liked the music you used in the three Gables, but not this one so much. But I’m really enjoying your stories.
Thank you for your input, I try to vary the music a bit so its not all the same every story. Glad you are enjoying them! Thanks for watching 😄
I❤😂😊❤ 😂❤🎉
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 😄
What an entertaining story, read with the humorous tone required. Well done, and thank you for introducing us to this interesting author. I hope he has produced other light-hearted tales and that you will record them for our enjoyment. I have subscribed as I often look for such stories.

Woadhouse. Arksford. Love his Welsh accent.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching =)
That was super well done! Great storytelling! I just subscribed.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching =)
Thank you.
Thanks for watching =)
The background music is extremely distracting.
Too loud? or just not care for background music?
Only thing wrong with this is that music in the background. Too repetitive imo. Otherwise enjoyable! Just friendly criticism here. Don’t shoot the messenger 😁✌️
Thanks for watching =)
Who are the artist and narrator?
The reader for this one was Bob Neufeld, the illustrations are a combination of public domain images I could find online for the story as well as some AI
Thank you for this his voice is so beautiful
@@annastasia1996 Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching =)
Well, this was fun! It made my dish washing most enjoyable :)
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching =)
Sure he tells you the rules, you just don't read them
it's just brilliant) was reminded again why PG Wodehouse's books are so well known around the globe (well, at least around many parts of the globe, that is) "wearing armchairs tight about the hips" 🤣 every sentence is a feast to the mind.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching =)
Thank you so much great story and reading
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching =)
It would have been better if some native English speakers had checked over the AI voice-over. Too fake for me, so I stopped watching. Do something in your own language...or, better still, get an English speaker to read the story and not a stupid computer! The graphic artist is good though...or is that AI too?
I'm not sure of your meaning, this was read by an English speaker and not AI, illustrations are AI
Lol, I am always amused when listeners cannot tell the difference between a real person & A.I. 😎.
@@WickedStoryTime-42 So the graphics are AI and not the voice-over.😄 Actually, the graphics do look rather too 'perfect' now that you mention it. Ok, I'm sorry about that. AI voice-overs are used in most UA-cam videos these days, especially when they are in story format and don't require a presentation. I went back to the line in the text that had confused me. The subtitles had really added to the confusion too. It was the line: '...a large, grave, self-sufficing, young man who, by sheer application to work, had become already, though only twenty-five, second gardener at the hall.' The commas need to be written, but also clearly interpreted. This sentence is rather unnecessarily complex and the meaning was not clear to me. AI has problems with ordinal numbers and it appeared to me that this may have been a botched attempt at reading 'two hundred and fifty-second'. The reader doesn't make any kind of pause between 'already' and 'though only twenty-five' and then, as the meaning slowly dawns on him, pauses too long after 'twenty-five'. Perhaps the text that he was reading had insufficient punctuation. Since it was a human error, it is completely forgivable. I'm perfectly happy with human errors. Please, accept my apologies. (And maybe pay a human artist next time 🙂).
@@nigelhaywood9753The reader is Mr. Mike Harris, from Librivox.
Im sorry sir, but the music in the background makes it hard for me to concentrate on the story. ❤❤❤
Was it an issue with the volume of the background music or the style of music that you didn't care for?
Perhaps a little too honkytonk? Very nicely read, thank you.
Thank you very much for these stories truly enjoyable
So glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching =)

Great voice, performance, and production, IMO
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
The worst of ALL the original stories. When Doyle wrote the story, it was a popular fad among wealthy, older men to utilize the "restorative effects" of ape glands. Of course, the fad was BS, but unfortunately, Doyle's story suggests such treatments worked (with unforeseen side effects), making the story the least realistic of all the original Holmes stories.
I love Wodehouse so thank you for this! Just a note, though, the pronunciation is actually like "Woodhouse", so if you post any more, keep that in mind to honor this incredible author!

Arghh didnt know it was robot voices, shame, unsubscribed
The music is an unwelcome distraction.
Was it too loud? or just don't like music added in general?
