    5 min in, when he first played pawn to f6, you could have played Qxe6+. Free pawn plus gives you an opportunity to get your knight to safety.

      What move? I cant comment all my moves, since there is a lot of not best moves done in my games. I try to show if its a blunder, but if engine do not show that this is not a blunder, but just a best move, and my eye do not catch this good move, and I saw it in comments here, how can i show you? Im not a GM.

    I know it stings to miss that mate in 1 pin atm, but im sure you've become a stronger chess player as your eye will be sharper for pins like that next time. To be honest I also missed that for a move until your opponent played knight d5 as it brought more attention to the bishop. I think I was also getting tunnel visioned on g2.

    14:48 Excellent decision not to capture on g7. The engine basically argues that the bishop pair is very strong in this position so giving up a rook for a bishop and a pawn is ok. I also wouldn't have played it, difficult to justify it later on. But it is worth studying since its rare to get a case like that.

    • @MartinChessJourney
      @MartinChessJourney Місяць тому

      Yeah, it just does not feel right, to exchange rook for a bishop and a pawn. Unless you see the advantage of that, and in this case maybe its worth because of opening the king. Maybe it should be considered next time :}

  • @shaokhanwins1037
    @shaokhanwins1037 Місяць тому

    Good stuff! I've watched about 3 episodes now and will watch more, but I'd just like to give a bit of feedback. I like that you were able to realize that knight d5 on 11:55 isn't that good of a move and instead of defending passively, you went for the counter with a tempo. His main weakness is that he opened up his king and played the middle game with only 3 pieces, neglecting development and you punished that well. That second game ended in an unfortunate flag, but you still gave a player 100 points rated higher than you a run for his money, and only lost due to time scramble. I think you'll get to 1500 very soon. I suggest spending more time in the review, but you dont have to study all moves. Pick one critical moment in the game and try to be able to explain why the AI thinks this and that are good or bad, and compare it to your thought process at the time. Some examples: The reason why pawn takes is +3.3 on 15:09 is that white cannot recapture, or they'll walk into a fork. On 35:30, the reason why the best move is bishop takes knight is that if he recaptures with his bishop, he loses 2 pawns and the right to castle assuming he finds the best moves, loses a pawn and a bishop if he finds the other set of best moves, or even lose 3 pawns and rook of he really mess it up. But can you find why he loses 2 pawns and the right to castle after bishop recaptures? Getting proven wrong is a good way to learn, so don't just let the AI tell you you're wrong, let it prove you wrong. Cheers!

    • @MartinChessJourney
      @MartinChessJourney Місяць тому

      Really nice comment and great insights. It's a good idea to just try to understand the meaning of one or the other move in game recap. And about the pawns, now I see that I could have Qd5 because the bishop pining the defending pawn, and then Bc6 for a fork, if he retakes :} I'm happy that you liked the games :} Thanks!
