For one man to call another man 'My friend'. Just about the best thing one person could ever call another. I say person because we can all address each other that way.
One of the best film the ending scene was spectacular I cried not because was sad because the king and queen loved their daughters so much and for what I heard they dedicated time with them and play with them and especially spend time with them as they should be as parents but Elizabeth didn’t do that with none of her kids she only loved her favorite Andrew the black sheep of the family
A Kinsman agent as King George the 6th Captain Barbosa as a Therapist Bellatrix Lestrange as the Queens Husband and Elizabeth”s mother Professor Dumbledore as King George the 5th Peter Pettigrew as Winston Churchill And the Fake Mandarin from Iron Man 3 who is marrying a divorced American woman
Every time I watch this movie, I feel how lonely the various kings and queens must be to lead their country. And how the simple thing of a friend can be worth so much to them.
At 2:57 - the view from Buckingham Palace - what are the two objects in the sky in front of the clouds? They're to the left and right of the frame respectively.
They are Barrage Balloons - large uncrewed tethered balloons used to defend ground targets against aircraft attack, by raising aloft steel cables which pose to hostile aircraft a severe risk of collision, making the attacker's approach difficult and hazardous.
Logue had been George's speech therapist for 10 years before he became King in 1936. George had addressed the Australian Parliament in Canberra in 1927 - without stammering. Logue continued as the King's therapist till the mid 1940s.
Excellent melody composed by the great Beethoven. The climax is at minute 3:00 - the essence of this great film. The destiny force Prince Albert (Berty) to replace his older brother. To carry heavy crown and to bring it in the worst years of XX th century. One of the masterpieces in film industry ever. Deep bow from Bulgaria! Colin Firth played King's role in most shiny way!
We know the struggles of Bertie/ King George VI , his country and the world were only going to get worse with WWII , but the point of this movie is just how important this personal milestone was to be in Bertie becoming a respected leader who was crucial in overcoming those struggles. Bertie's biggest problem really wasn't his speech impediment, it was about the root of it...his lack of self confidence. Logue succeeded in getting him to this point because he helped Bertie deal with his psychological issues as an important part of his speech therapy. Bertie as King succeeded in delivering his most important speech not just through working on his speaking ability but also because of his and Logue's hard personal work on himself. It was important that through this personal achievement he gained a well needed self confidence boost for what was to come. This was truly the moment he became the King that everyone now admires for successfully leading his country and thus helping the world through it's darkest modern period. This is why after calling him Bertie for the whole film it's so significant that Logue finally addresses him as Your Majesty.
The aftermath of the events here is very tragic, King George VI would be gone in 12 years due to poor health caused by stress and intense smoking. However, he did start a beautiful line of succession with Elizabeth, William and Kate, and George. (Charles is a bump)
I kind of disliked this film for how it pictured the speech therapist guy almost as a grey cardinal to the throne and the country. That’s stretching it too far, to say the least.
Who else is here looking for young Elizabeth. "Halting at first, but you got much better". In real life, Elizabeth said this was her favorite depiction of her father.
Great film
Why was the final messages cut off? Ruined the final scene not showing them.
I like the way Churchill complimented people "couldn't have said better myself". He sure had a high opinion of himself.

I love this film. Its so hard to watch Lionel and not hear Captain Barbosa popping out.
Thanks for sharing. ❤😊
Logue peaking at his boy on the balcony is sich a vibe. May we all have friends like that.
King George always reminded me of Claudius. Thrust into, after being mocked, thought lesser than etc. I really enjoyed this movie.
Well, Claudius is actually participating in the last scene 🙂
I love the part where Bertie finally acknowledges Lionel as his friend and Lionel acknowledges Bertie as his king. Genuine respect between two men.

Incredible beautiful movie with brilliant casts and beautiful music
“Well done…my friend.” Right in the feels.
You know. I never knew a movie could get me excited seeing a man with a stutter learn how to say a complete speech at the ending. But it did
why this video looks like it was filmed in 1970 wtf
Beethoven's "Emperor," playing as George is finally able to be there for his people.....beautiful.

He was there to defend Queen Elizabeth the first, and again to lift up her descendent. Oh and by the way, was a Sun god and a pirate!!!
After this speech, the royal family and nations did not know whether they will survive the war. It appears they thrived after the speech.
Speachless
I love this scene. He looks around for Lionel and Lionel lets him know he's there.

a great show of humanity.something russians know nothing about.god save the king
Why wasn't he knighted?
Excellent movie!
Bobby, stop this film at 1min 49 seconds - Roger Parrot (playing the Prime Minister) says "Congratulations"
As A university student, I can't only apologise for the gross lack of respect of both Her Majesty and our great nation
As an American, no need to apologize, ignorance and disrespect is a worldwide problem!
What a great movie!
Love it: louge earned the kings friendship, Bertie earned logues respect
It's kind of strange that the climax of this film was the opening to the worst conflict in human history
At 1:46, the Beshop’s word of “I am speechless” in the finale of The King’s Speech is such a strong punch line.
That actor is Derek Jacobi, he is perhaps most well known for his own portrayal of a stammering head of state in “I, Claudius”
2:01 Now we missed all of them 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Charles and Camille are now king and Queen 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The Beethoven’s “Emperor” in this scene indicates he became a true king in every way. What a brilliant way to use music!
I’ve just watched this for the very first time and I regret not watching it sooner. Loved it, and the final speech was fantastic.
Did Bertie ever call Logue, Lionel in the movie?
Excelente película
Still gime chills
No one: me: OH LOOK THE MUSIC IS BEETHOVEN EMPEROR'S 2ND MOVEMENT

Music name please
Wow! Helena Bonham Carter is HOT! Whether as Queen Elizabeth here or as Princess Margaret in The Crown she really catches my eye.
Beethoven, I have to get back into listening more of his music. Great way to end a great movie.
1:53 young Princess Elizabeth, age 12.
Brilliant cinema.

Charles I'm afraid is just like his Uncle David, or Edward Vlll
