Use a small rock cod fillet with the tail attached hook that to the bottom hook. That's how it got 23lb ling cod at the 660 spot.
Honestly I didn’t even know there was electric reels?! Fish smarter, not harder! 🤙
Yes, not possible to fish these depths without electric reels.
@@cqc_tv I hear you man. My arm would fall off before the fish hit the surface!
Nice boat, nice day on the water! Tight lines
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Tuyệt quá! Cùng nhau chia sẻ nhé bạn 🤝❤️❤️❤️
Just curious how deep were you fishing, seems like it take a a long time to bring it up
Fishing 800 feet depths, slow down the electric reel to minimize line break and hook pull due to larger catches
My boat looks similar to yours at the bow and am looking to add a trolling setup can you tell me what you have and how good it is for offshore fishing? The boat is a 24 footer. Thanks in advance and really enjoying your clips
My trolling motor is a Minn Kota Riptide Terrova saltwater series with the following specifications: 36 volt, 112 pounds thrust, 80” shaft, connected to a 36 volt lithium battery. So far no issues, I fished offshore up to 20MPH wind conditions without issues.
Hey sir Im not asking for you to take out I have my own boats to go out on just wanted to know where you was fishing due to I thought lingcod season was over til April sorry you thought I was asking for a boat ride
The lingcod fishing is opened till the end of December. The lingcod were caught in the Catalina channel.
Dude that’s ballsy doing it round the time of storms or high surf warnings
You’re right! No wonder no other boats in sight!
Good morning sir thank you for your reply what part of california are you fishing i would love to go catch some of those big ones also very well maintain boat you have
Orange County, but I have no plan on taking people out except a few of my best friends
Hello there sir very nice fish I thought rock cod season was over until march.if you don't mine where are you fishing what area
I’m fishing in California Southern Management area, the ground fishing season will be closed from Jan-Mar.
I was stopped by fishing game and they told me my descending device has to be hooked up to a pole ready to go to be legal.
Good to know
@ when did you go out?
Went out over a week ago
@ I was wondering the seas look calm trying to go out tomorrow for some lingcod
@ according to Windy.com the weather looks good for tomorrow
Wow, that is huge!! Good eating fish!!
Yes, very fun catching it too 😂
Awesome video.. beautiful lingcods!! And If you don’t mind me asking, where did you buy the sand dab rig?
Glad you enjoyed the video. I custom made these sand dab rigs. If there are enough interested, I’ll make it available for sale.
Nice lingcods. I got my 20 pound Cowcod in 1977. On whole dead squids with ten hooks rig with eight other fish included at the 60 miles bank. Took me a while to reel it up. Good ole days, no hooks and fish limits back then.
The commercial fishing decimated the cow cod populations. Thanks to 30 years of conservation, cow cods are now plentiful out there. Hopefully, regulations will allow recreational takes soon.
Dang man what area you fishing
Super secret spot 😂
@@cqc_tv lol 😝 I haven’t fished the rock cod in our area just been halibut fishing local and Seabass at Cat I was going to go this morning but they are saying big swell again with wind Thanks for the Video buddy I launch in HB or LB I know the Sand dab area
I launched my boat out of HB, come by say hi if you see me
@@cqc_tv Will do I see you have a lot of good areas off our local area
Can you share your sanddab rig and where I can purchase them from? Thank you.
I custom made it. I can make it available for sale if there’s enough interested.
@@cqc_tv Thank you for your reply. You did a great job making it.
33' in lincod and 2nd one us is a monster. nicely done. no lincod on my boat yet. lol
Hey James, just saw your video catching the good eating sable fish, congrats!
@@cqc_tvcapt sonny. You are pro. Think we should fish together :) FYI. Your videos are way more informative. I don’t have the patience, i just fish, film, eat and go home. Lol. I need some help catching lingcod, big yellowtails, white seabass, and huge 40” plus halibuts.
Awesome,
Thanks 🤗
Can you explain the depth regulation for rockfish in so cali through out the year?
Link to the CDFW: wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean/Regulations/Groundfish-Summary#south At the moment, we can fish for rockfish at the depths around 300 feet (per CDFW’s GPS coordinates) and deeper.
Nice fish 🤤
Thanks!
How deep were you fishing for rockfish and lingcod?
700-800 feet depths
Easy catch!
Too easy lol
Sand Dabs make great lingcod bait.
Yes, that’s what I heard.
one of the most underrated eating fish in Socal! Good job.
Totally agreed, excellent for fish tacos
Cá bơn thì chiên giòn chấm nước mắm và cơm nóng!
cá bơn là halibut, sand dads ko phải

and a nice goat to go with it! whitefish fight good- nice stuff!
Nice video! Is it worth to bleed these fish, or doesnt matter with these smaller fish?
Doesn’t made much difference on meat quality to bleed these smaller fish
What knot do you tie on to your mad macs? And what kind of line combo you using. I’m up in NorCal and would like to get some ideas. Thanks again, great content!
Thank you for checking out the video, you guys NorCal are catching the big bluefin tunas this year. I’m using 120lb spectra backing, 50yd of 200lb mono leader, and the double San Diego jam knot, here is the link to the video ua-cam.com/video/WFMR0a4MZ8g/v-deo.htmlsi=UV7G7ky78H0Z5OTG
Wow! Very cool
Nice catch. What rod were you using on the first fish?
Daiwa Proteus 15-30LB 8’
@@cqc_tv thanks
Good stuff. A balloon (helium) set up or kite may have got a bite on those bigger ones.
Baby sand dabs so cute 😂
Instead of filming someone should help
No one was filming, GoPro mounted on the rod rails
He means put the rod in the holder and help your buddy out that’s getting rag dolled while you’re laughing
It actually was satire , but the latter is right.
what treble you put on the 240?
We are using Owner 4/0 4X treble hook, very sharp and strong
Epic for sure… you guys scored!
We saw you at nachos a few weeks ago. We went out yesterday and got 2 BF. Let’s buddy boat sometimes. We go every weekend for BF, YT and rockfish
Just call out when you see us out there. We can share intel on searching for these elusive BFT out there.
Wow, that was amazing!! Non stop action. Hopefully we can do that next year!!
Yes, I’m looking forward to it!
Nice boat
Thank you!
