I miss so much Bethany Beach, l lived at 604 4th street in a small cottage over there...now there's a big house on "woog"....also worked at Difebo 's restaurant and a few more places around....love it❤❤

I live in Chile now, but l worked in Rehoboth for years ,a very beautiful city and lot of tourists and attractions but it will never be able possible to receive 7.000.000 tourists in a year

I own Wilmington trackless trolley # 653, one of three coaches built by Mack in 1939. It's in need of major restoration. Coach # 654 is at the Seashore Trolley Museum in Maine. It too is in need of major restoration. Sadly, this film doesn't show any of the Mack coaches in operation. All of the coaches in this film were built by J, G. Brill.

I grew up in the house on the pennsville side what used to be the Sinclair Gasoline Station , good to see at least the Sign there in movie , very cool

I’m looking at the St George’s Bridge photo and noticing how open the land was--still mostly farms I am guessing. When I drive down from NJ I’m always directed to the newer Route 1 Bridge (my young son named it “the golden bridge” after it opened). I’m curious how to get to the St Georges Bridge if I may ask?❤

Still doing beach grooming and recovery from the 1962 storm. The snow fences in the beach shots were an attempt to regrow the huge dunes that got washed away. I used to play in and among the dunes and bushes but after the storm everything was completely flat. ua-cam.com/video/HCmYbOJXWNc/v-deo.html

This was back when local and Federal government used to operate relatively quickly, efficiently and at decent cost. The men who built this bridge were most all good men. Nowadays in 2024, I can't imagine the trouble, costs and political hurdles of simply building a bridge over the Delaware river

Compared to today, this is cursed.

Vacationed in Fenwick Island during the '50s and '60s in a small cottage on W. Va. Avenue. Rode down with Dad some time after the storm to see how things looked. Our little cottage was still there but the Sand Dune Motel on the oceanfront was totally obliterated. Sand and tractors everywhere for a long time; I especially remember those giant orange earth movers running up and down the beach all summer afterward; to a nine year old boy they looked like monsters! I see on Google Maps now the marshland in Fenwick is fully developed. EVERYTHING is developed! I thought that wasn't supposed to happen? The tranquility and beauty of the coast is long gone. Now in North Carolina I've no interest in returning to Delaware or god forbid Ocean City, Md.
