After Effects Tips & Treats - by Julien Schickel
France
Приєднався 13 лют 2019
Hello, my name is Julien. I'm a movie editor and also a motion designer. I started using After Effects on the documentaries & fiction movies I edit.
It's been some time since I started, I've learned a certain amount of tips and tricks, and I guess it is time to pass them on. So be it!

Solar System All Planetary Reference Frames
Here's the Solar System seen from all planetary frames of reference. Sizes and distances are not to scale, only trajectories and velocities. The time scale is 200 days to one second.

Orbiting Titan - Another View on the Solar System
Переглядів 1,6 тис.6 місяців тому
Let’s see the Solar System from another point of view, as we orbit Titan, Saturn’s biggest moon. As we take a full circle around, we get to see the whole Solar System. I plan to make another video with another points of view from the Solar System. Tell me which one you’d like to see in the comments! #aftereffects #astronomy #motiondesign #motion #science #space #astronomia #astrophysics #titan ...
The Sun Cosmic Rose
Переглядів 9326 місяців тому
The sun is not really at the center of the Solar System. Actually, Jupiter and Saturn are so massive that they push the Sun out of the way. When Jupiter and Saturn align, their masses and thrusts add up. As Saturn orbits the Sun twice as slowly as Jupiter, the Sun moves evenly around the center. If we materialize the Sun's trajectory due to gravity, we can see that the Sun draws a kind of cosmi...

👏👏👏👏👏👏
Everything in life comes with trade offs.
Such a "to the point tutorial".
Short, sharp, and sweet 🤩
Someday, someone will experience the solar system from the Mars perspective
Great job 👍👍
Love this
best video
Still your modeling is based on a perfect wobble of the planets which in reality it is more irrational....aa observed with eyes.
Seems great video. Thanks for your labour for us. My suggestion is remove thoose lines it mess everything and confuse. Plus its a bit too fast. Try to show planets at their real speed (as much as possible). Thanks
Wonderful!! What program was used to create this video?
Adobe After effects was used. And thank You !
Finally! Thanks!🎉
Why they have no volume
0:49 At first I was confused why Venus is spinning so fast because it takes Venus longer to complete a day than it does to complete a year, but then I realized it’s probably the thick clouds that are making it look like it’s fast. I could be dead wrong
You are indeed right !
Thank you very much 🥹🫶🖤
3:22 Mercury 3:42 Venus 3:56 Earth (WHY IS IT SPINNING SO FAST???!!!) 4:26 Mars 4:41 Ceres the largest object in the asteroid belt. 4:59 JUPITER THE BIGGEST PLANET 5:27 Saturn with its rings. 5:56 Uranus the coldest planet not too cool 6:31 Neptune 6:48 THE KUIPER BELT 6:58 Pluto the planet 7:03 ZOOOOOOOM 7:07 Haumea(too fast) 7:17 ZOOOOOOOM 7:18 MakeMake 7:28 ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM 7:34 Eris the blue and biggest dwarf planet
Top, merci beaucoup !
Sheer brilliance. One of the most instructive and beautiful representations I've seen so far.
Wow!!
Almost accurate but nice job anyways
Okay, slow down EVERYTHING. ESPECIALLY THE text.
If earth was a grain of sand, the Milky Way would be the entire earth
Amazing 😊
Everything except for one thing about this video are all good. The "SPEEDOMETER".. Dude, even with a little common knowledge about space you'd instantly know it is too slow. Maybe you meant "PER SECOND" instead of "PER HOUR"... Just thinking intuitively about that speed range I'm seeing on the screen and how those planets whizzing by that it's way too slow. Without doing any calculations I find even "PER SECOND" is still a bit too slow, but close... Correct me if I'm wrong 🤔
Excellent tuto, bravo et merci ❤
nice graphics, sound is also a good idea
excellent - just what i was looking for too bad the music was a little bit soft
Bravo super vidéo !
Magnifique !!! Merci beaucoup ❤
Where or how did you make the video of the planets moving, it's exactly what I'm looking for to use in an AE project!
Great job ! Congratulations as well !
The video needs to be remade with Neptune's true color! 🤔🤔🤔
Thinking the speedometer should have been in km/second, not per hour. Great video anyway.
One of the best solar systems to scale ever seen! Congratulations!!!

Not Mars’s moons?
Also it would be cool to have a full vid about this with all the planets
Underrated
why compare them? one is retarded and one we always use. trying having a clock on your arm spinning tilting and flying away from your arm!
Here are some curiosities about the planets. Mercury: Mercury has a tail like a comet. This tail is made up of atoms and magnetic material from its atmosphere, which as you know is very thin. Venus: Very similar to Mercury, Venus also has a tail, although it is not as noticeable as Mercury's. This tail, which is actually a plasma balloon, is a result of its atmosphere, which causes its materials to be launched into space, causing it to appear to have a tail. the earth: the distance that the earth is from its moon is so great that all the planets in the solar system could be excavated (including jupiter and saturn to give you an idea of how far away they are) Mars: although Mars is a red desert without water, it actually has water, it is buried beneath its surface and is more concentrated at the poles in its grasiares, but the water on Mars is saltier than that on Earth. The asteroid belt: Ceres is the most active body in the asteroid belt to the point that it releases large jets of water from its geysers. Jupiter: in addition to being the largest planet and being the owner of the largest moon, it is also the carrier of the largest ocean in the solar system, the first is its own ocean, which, unlike that of our planet, is not made of water but of liquid metal thanks to the hydrogen of which it is composed. Saturn: As strange as it sounds, Saturn is capable of changing color depending on the season the planet is going through, this is the reason why in some photos it appears dark in color and in others brighter. uranus and neptune: the colors of uranus and neptune in this video and in the voyager photos are incorrect since they oversaturated the photos (in particular the one of neptune) better capture the details of the ice giants, in reality both are of a Pale greenish blue color. The difference is that Neptune is a little darker than Uranus. the kuiper belt: in the kuiper belt the only dwarf planets recognized are pluto, haumea, makemake and eris, however there are more minor bodies that could be recognized as dwarf planets such as sedna, quaoar, gonggon and orcus among others but it is not known much of their shape since they have not sent missions to obtain more information about them so it will take a while until they can classify them as dwarf planets without mentioning that they are very far away.
Cadê ceres no final?
Where is Jupiter's forth ring i only see 3 rings
I feel so goddamn small watching these vids 🥺
Why did you do that I don't want to do that that's my home please
Universe is so bigger~! even though solar system is big , It's still small in universe.
Heliocentric: simple, intuitive, predictable Geocentric: a f**king mess
oooooh comment c'est énervé de dingue l'astuce.
3:37 this is literal proof that people just put random numbers in a spedometer and show 1595 1956 1957 1956.533525 1955.33333 switching fast while it doesn't actually make any sense, you saying it does 2,000 km/h while the distance from the sun showing like 20,000 km/s I mean these things are only for show off, they don't actually mean anything, they make me wonder and doubt if the distances of the planets are actually known or the sizes or they just say it is 1.,456.2.4,.66,46.46463643.34634634,346 while they got no idea what it is
Lors of comments ask about the time scale of the last part of the video. It is indeed km/h, but at a Time scale of 1 day = 2 seconds. Alr I didn't see that
You took the time to look this up. That's not the point. Plus, he never said they were fixed numbers. Give him (or her) s break
Génial - Merci !
